A fourth Garden City. This one's the smallest of the nine Vitruvius style designs, if 4-wide blocks are used.

In keeping with Howard's ideas the industrial is a ring around the edge, and the center is parks and civics with some commercial.

I actually like the mansions in this setting. The industrial areas are a bit sparse because I keep knocking down satellite dishes.

I just rediscovered Olsènes ;)

I didn't like this neighbourhood, so I bulldozed everything, except the two avenues.

I'm also trying to build the most possible buildings I have in my plugin folder with the 'buildingplop' cheatcode. I found buildings I didn't even remember I downloaded :D

Its a gorgeous neighbourhood, just needs a bit more polishing. By the way, where do you find that wonderful rounded tower?

@CT14 Interesting concept  . Does it work well for SC4

With the Garden City concept, the big departure from SC4 tradition is the idea of more than one city on a tile. So each Garden City considered as a separate entity but sharing a tile with the neighbor, does not benefit from neighbor connections.

For this reason, perhaps using small tiles would be best, one Garden City per tile.

Balancing water and electric utilities to each Garden City is quite possible, but more time than it was worth for me - I connected all water/electric to one grid somewhere around the third city.

The Howard idea of ring rail and metro rail, on the other hand, translates perfectly to SC4. Here's a couple of shots building a GLR connection between two cities...out the wrong side of one of them straight into the beach (was 90 degrees off).

I made a try at my own Vitruvian design, keeping in mind both SimCity's limitations and the constraints of the Garden City concept. I am looking forward to building this one.ZZgNrTp.png

Your image is dead on my end :(

Let's try that again...

It looks like onedrive gets wonky when you accidentally duplicate file names :P

I can see my (old) house from here :)

EDIT:
So how long before you make that look like this:
GreaterCascadiaSatelite.jpg

PS... after a closer look, it appears that Mt. Rainier moved a few miles north :)

Yup :P  the carbon and snoqualmie rivers are now one, omitting about 35km of useless (in simcity) hills.  I wanted a seattle map with Rainier in it, but the distances dont work well with rainier in it's natural location.  I'm happy with the transition between the two maps on the west side of Rainier, but the northeast side in snoqualmie pass is ..... butt.  I don't think this one will go on the stex, i'll probably shove it in my map room.

....and it also appears that the new forum software doesn't handle the stupidly long links from using onedrive, either.  That pic was there there this morning, now it's gone.  Yet all the pics in my CJ are there. Hmm.

So how long before you make that look like this:

20 years.  :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Map is (pretty much) complete, and is provided on an as-is basis.  "Greater Cascadia" can be found in Blunders Map Room.

well, volcanoes usually are moving, so (in SC4 time) is not impossible to have a northerner Mt. Rainier.

Another picture of the task-at-hand. Let's just say it's SC4 and Monaco re-imagined. Figured the wrapping effect is appropriate since I am keeping it largely "under wraps" until it's finished and featured in my city journal. Trying to incorporate some pretty unique work with the high-wealth residences that'll dot the area.

I can't see either picture, but I know I've tried making Seattle 1000 times and I'm hoping somebody with serious modding experience will be able to understand and overcome some of the nuances that the layout of that city creates.

Keep building my airport, just finished the approach ligthing system of RWY 27R-18L

rX5TBis.jpg

There was a project for a set of ALS lighting that could extend over any terrain including water. It was supposed to be included with RMIP 3 but the project looks like it will never come true..

In fact the light system shown in the pics is from the JENX's prefab runways pack, they're a bit overscaled imo, but they look fantastic! And I think the same about RMIP-3, it's a pity that the project is dead, it had so many awesome features...

BTW, just finished the big boy's satellite concourse.

Hi guys, I'm here again showing a picture from the new airport of my region.

I want to create a new topic to share with all of you this region located in Japan. I hope you like it and greetings.

Wow, great job, it looks awesome, and the editing is great too. Btw. where did you get those fences? They look pretty good!

PD: Puede que me equivoque, pero creo que has puesto las luces de aproximación al revés, deberían de verse las bombillas blancas en todas ellas, no la parte trasera roja xD Un saludo, ¡y sigue haciendo esas maravillas! ^^

Expanding a canal in Wallington to use Can-Am.

3eEMMZE.jpg

With Can-AM and NAM puzzle pieces I was able to make a FLUP underpass that dips under the dual track rail and canal. I'm using the Diggis CAN-AM mod and I ended up with the no-wealth autodetect (not sure how to make it aware of other wealth levels?), so I had to change the banks to ASC.

The end of the canal has a CAN-AM roundabout (a T and three L pieces).

TC2peD1.jpg

The freight train and the barge are both headed to neighbor connections.

I'm using IRM W2W and Paeng's concrete lots here.
