Nah, we just didn't want to pay your monthly bills. *:D Besides, we lost one good creator recently, we don't want to lose another.

@mattb325 That's a very nice model you're starting. I'm curious about the walls tile, is it a texture or did you bat in the large tile? In any case this will be a welcomed addition to my city... Any idea about the potential lot size? (so I can already decide where to put it)

@Barroco Hispano That big hangar is really cool. What is it based on? This will be a fine addition to any industrial/commercial area. About the Patreon idea... I think if you  do it like Jason did it should be more welcomed: patrons get an early release of the bats and possibly decide what the next model would be. Going for the same approach as another ST user who I shall not name is just simply idiotic IMO.

As someone who knows very little about patreon, I don't have much input. I personally try and limit where I sign up at online. To much security crap going on, online nowadays. We are being forced more and more every day to put more and more personal info in electronic form online. (It was harder for them when it was on paper) You have talent, your work is really spectacular from what I've seen posted here. If this is your way to make money, I say go for it, if that's what your aiming for. But I wouldn't ever plan on following anyone this way myself. FYI, I thought your approach was fine.

Thanks @art128, it's just a texture.

Two reasons for doing a shortcut....with all of the curves on this building, it was quicker to do it this way rather than trying to calculate how many little subdivisions (even though I often model such things out) and secondly, because the metal panels are large, I don't like the really coarse, hard shadows that AO leaves in the grout when using a procedural texture, so consider this the equivalent of those stick-on-tiles that are used in cheap kitchen/bathroom renovations *

Those bidges aren;t very uncommon; press to say for this project I am still using NAM 31 so limited in available infrastructure options. Future versions of the Mayon plugins Userdir will have a newer NAM version afther a full renovation of the folder: allready removed some unnecesary airport, Highway lighning and soundwall stuff, still some way to go. Working with large tiles with this may be out off peformance issue not so wise as any plugin added adds to slowing down, currently  4 Gb patch may help still with 6 Gb resources are tight !

Sincerely yours,

Fair enough...bridge design is increasingly standardized since the Roeblings built the Brooklyn Bridge, which was basically the Cincinnati Bridge on steroids!

I refer you to the CJ "Introduction" Chapter.   *:read:

Always worth reading the beginning "chapter" -- it usually explains pretty much everything.  *:D

But a small squadron of the Great White Fleet did pay a port call on their way back to Hampton Roads.  Evidently, the Kaiser was impressed ! *

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

I will use them to recreate a war scenario for my city journal.

@art128 It is actually a warehouse *:thumb:.

I plan to create only 2 tiers and they will cost the same as JasonCW's patreon so everyone will have access to the same content.

Some of us like more realistic cities and scenes, not antiseptic, sterile landscapes full of glowing, over-lit commercial buildings. You know, a little filth...like in real life.

My latest SC4 Tutorial explains how to create some advanced Neighbour Connections:

Specifically, how to make Diagonal/FAR-2 Road and Straight/Diagonal Street Neighbour Connections. This uses a new technique I found, utilising the RHW Disconnector tool, it's now easier than ever to make use of these alternative possibilities.

@rsc204 Thanks for the tutorial :thumb:

Can you explain whats going on for the large station in the video image. Is that both HSR and RHW coming out of that? That looks like some NAM voodoo haha

Yeah I've converted the lot to work with 2 lines of HSR and 2 lines of the Viaduct Rail system. Since I made that city, E-RRW is now a thing, I should probably update the modding for that.

No NAM voodoo as such, I just modded the original station to work differently. It'd be an as-is download, but once I've converted the modding to E-RRW, I'd be happy to attach a copy somewhere.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

PS Are there texture packs available to download?

There are countless textures available for free on the net. Just google the type you need and download them. Bricks/concrete/patterns/colors/glass/soil/water/metal and so on. Seamless or not it matters not.

I usually start with a basic texture and by using Photoshop I modify it to fit my needs. After a while you tend to accumulate a sizable library to draw upon.

It's a bit time consuming but worth it in the end.
