These are looking awesome. I don't know if you already made such kind of buildings, but what I like in UK are those complexes where you have these small cottages w2w and there are like alleyways or arcades between them for cars to access the backyard, but the backyard also has further homes/flats or businesses etc...

Yes I need to make some of those too! Gosh so many projects in my mind it's become a full-time job

Think I'm finally done placing infrastructure and decoration for my city and am ready to let it develop on its own. Just a couple more pictures before I press play and then the next ones you see from me should be a city journal.

I have finally chosen a new HSR texture.  I went back to the grey ballast as this full-on concrete slab-based rail seemed most at home there.

I tried it with the more beige-like ballast and it just didn't work.  Of course I still have to figure out (and find where it's stored) how to do the switch - luckily there is only one I think *

This is a great job but it should be remembered that HSRP is a legacy component of NAM that is close to retirement so the mod will no longer be compatible with the new RHSR system

Trying something new here ...

A couple of weeks ago I was traveling through Spain visiting some places in north-western Andalucía. And while visiting places like Úbeda, Baeza and Jaén the surrounding landscape was stunning as well ... as it was covered with olive trees as far as the eye could see. Especially terrasses where these threes are grown looked stunning.

So ... I had a try to replicate that look in my region (with is southern Europe based anyway) ...

The result so far:

the result is simply awesome! *:thumb: (I hope you don't mind if I borrow your idea and transform it to fit a Japanese themed agriculture)

A small update of the main entrance to the walled city and a beginning of port activity. Not much after all...

As @Krisman's images, yours are also very much inspirational about heavy custom lotting and their use to create amazing scenes. Beautiful work both of you!

This might be interesting --

Is there more where that came from - ?

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

Yes, I blame the both of them for the fact that I spend more time lotting than actually playing the game :(

I got the terrain combo box working, I am guessing that my previous UI file was missing a few required properties. Maxis used a combo box for the zodiac signs in the Select a MySim UI file, so I was able to copy that control definition and modify it to suit my requirements.

ExtendedTerrainCombo.png.ab08bc195c84df76e207fae64d38bdb9.png

There is still a lot more to do before the UI can alter the loaded terrain type, but getting the UI to work at all is a big step towards that. :)

So, what's really the function of this? Is this some Maxis leftovers?
