It is! That's Griffith Observatory! It's really awesome, you can seen the Hollywood sign from it and it has a working Tesla Coil along with a Foucault Pendulum!

I decided to re-do my region 'Waukegan' as I had DLed so many mods (SPAM, Demand Mods, the new NAM) that I felt a reset was in order.

Here's the University of South East Waukegan that I built in my first tile (Called North East Indiola  )

Are those the other Clayhurst buildings?  How did you get those?  (I'm sure I'm not the only one asking that)

I thought about this, and am still thinking about it because though I've thought about this, I still have more thinking to do as to stop thinking about it would mean not to think.

Built this large-ish industrial area in Ohio City (Probably renaming the city in my previous post BTW)

Again I was Inspired by the talented work of  @9gruntsand1hammer and @Ln X. I normally am not that patient when it comes to building in SC4, but after seeing their work, I decided to take my time and build up an industrial area from scratch.

Yo, Hetz --

What's the large grayish lot in the center with all the sheds and silos ??

You've spent your time well -- looks pretty good.  Nice, neat layout -- very unusual -- not your "run of the mill" buildings.

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

You did a good job creating industrial lots with a nice selection of different buildings. I think it would look even better if you eliminated the dirt under the rail textures. In some cases it works to create a better effect but in most, unless you do a lot of agriculture, it doesn't look all that good. There should be a couple of different options that come standard as part of the latest versions of nam under the 'rail texture style' option.

that's the WMP Ethonal plant (Should be on the STEX).

Be careful, I've found WMP lots finnicky and slightly crash prone.

but, i cant figure out how to get an elevated rail across without going 3 deep lower and upper, meaning six or seven tiles away, which is way too big.

Here is an interchange loop that I am still working on. I am still thinking about it should blend it more into the terrain... Also coming up with an aesthetic design was exciting once I found the right balance between rock and plants!

Neat design and nice mix of MMPs.  However, if you are going for something more realistic, I would veer more towards natural bush and tree growth rather than manicured garden.  I imagine the maintenance for something like that would be more than the city is willing to pay.  Take a google earth tour of some highway interchanges and I think you will find that most of these areas are left to grow wild (or mowed grass).

Working on the Upper City :)

I'm trying to have a mix between 'prestigious' buildings and modern one

1452890402-olsenes-lolol.jpg

Also, does someone have an idea of a building to build on this angle ?

1452891407-olsenes-lolol2.jpg

Nothing fits, there is always a gap between the two buildings, which really annoys me.

Looking great @feyss. I don't have any ideas for that spot, apart from the usually, which you say don't fit.

How did you get street lights on the tram in avenue and road?

Also, what terrain mod are you using?

Can't wait to see this finished!

Hmmm, you can always build an urban park around that spot if there is absolutely no other alternative for building placement. Overall, I really like the work and style you have put into this piece @feyss

Maybe some buildings by Motokloss (here or in SimCity Polska, using google translator). I have seen some interesting W2W curved buildings there, particulary a grey primary school with that shape.

@Artimus @SimCoug Indeed it's very rare to see any kind of landscaping for the vast majority of interchanges out there. But to be fair there are a few exceptions and it seems like it might be something that is becoming more common.

Personally I think having the occasional manicured interchange is fine, just don't go overboard with it at least if your angling for the realism approach. Coincidentally this is something I've been working on a lot lately in preparation for transportation update. I like the natural bush/tall grass growth, with a lack of maintenance and minimal tree cover as it's the norm for a lot of interchanges around where I live.

there are two buildings that will fit there that i know of. They are both european buildings and available from the STEX. I can't remember what theyre called though, but theyre both about three stories high and old europe looking. If I figure out what theyre called ill let you know.

@takemethere I agree as it  is true for majority of cases as I have seen many interchanges in California, where the local vegetation and moss have taken root alongside the roadways. I have seen some interchanges have been well kept and shaven; the first picture you presented to me looks very intrinsic and familiar from where I live as well...

Well, I better go off and do some more detailing with my interchanges...
