About This File

The BeeHive
(Fully Mac Compatible)

The beehive is the name given to one of the buildings of parliament in Wellington, New Zealand. Its given this name because of the iconic shape, the fact that it looks like a beehive.

This is a somewhat realistic recreation of the building, the real building had another huge wing, well building, next to it, but they are connected by just a corridor, and to be honest, I don't really like the rest of the building, and its not as famous as the beehive, so I don't think it will be missed very much. The lot isn't a recreation of the real thing, but in real life it is just grass, and that would become boring after a while. And hey, I made it, I can do what I like, call it my artistic vision of the building. Other than that, its pretty much the same as in real life.

The building has also been rendered in HD

Once again, fully mac compatible, meaning that all nightlighting will work on macs. As evidence, all photographs were taken on a mac.

Details:
$25,690 to plop
$671 to bulldoze.
3354 jobs.
Its a functional land mark, so you should find it in the landmarks section, working like a commercial building.

Dependances:
None, just download and enjoy.

The building is pretty cool but the lot could've used some custom textures/props... 4/5 from me.

Wow, I am surprised to see this! It is almost a perfect recreation of the real building. One of New Zealand's most famous buildings can now be in the game!

Just had a look on google at this building, you have made a really good version of this. Looks like this could be used in plenty of different city types too.

instead of making it HD (of course "making" it HD means just pressing one button - there is no actual work evolved) you should have texture it. But it is a good structure that would offer variety to the common "boxes"

Whoa, thanks for bringing this landmark building to our attention and to the STEX! :o) Overall, it looks quite convincing to me. The two only exceptions are the horizontal concrete textures (they look too smooth, like totally untextured grey BAT material IMO), and the lot design. If you departed from the original setup anyway, you might as well add some trees etc, I think. Anyway, keep 'em coming!

It does have a texture. I got it from the building it self. It obviously didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. Although I generally thought that the real building looked like smooth concrete, which is what it is was made out of.

While I appreciate the effort to make this Mac compatible, the textures are too monochormatic in the grey areas. I'd expect there to be some discoloration of the cement even if it had been poured a few months ago.

Not bad at all but as said, the textures could use some work. We need more NZ buildings, shame Scotty never got round to releasing a load of the Auckland scrapers he made. More Welly buildings, thanks!!

The_Wise_Wizard, polygon count? I think, If I read it correctly, it just goes a little over 150,000.
