  1. One London Place Ver 2

...Fire levelled most of the city in 1845; one of the first destroyed items was the city's only fire engine! Fanshawe Dam was constructed in 1952 to control repeated flooding of the - get this - Thames River (LOL, love it!). London was a major military centre in the two World Wars...
  2. One London Place Ver 2

London, ON: 360 000 (2006 est., 432 500 metro). Located almost exactly halfway between Toronto and Detroit on the Macdonald-Cartier Freeway (Hwy. 401). Settled in 1826, incorporated in 1855. Selected to be the future capital of Upper Canada (Ontario) in 1793, but it never happened...
  3. TTC CLRV Red RocketGLR Tram

na -- yah, hikes suck. **grrr** ...why can't the T.O. and Ont. gov't. get on board with this and contribute more $$$? It's a shame, cuz the TTC is one of the best-organized transit systems in the world but the riders are gouged. I'm not really a skin fan but this model looks great, den!
  4. Eglise SaintPierre Saive

Jasper - Use the road tool and make a small 2x2 circle. When all four tiles are complete it will be converted. The same can be done with the street tool to make a grey version, and the one-way tool to create an eight-tile roundabout (with one empty tile in the middle). The NAM is required.
  5. If SimCity4 were real life...

First I'd just be happy with the knowledge that I could be the mayor of a town without ever being voted into office... although it'd be a tough job when I'd have nobody to help me with decision-making. After some fireworks spontaneously shoot out of the grass (and with only myself to see them) I'd be pleased to lay some roads myself, but I'd be thoroughly confused about where my booming population came from--no roads leading in or out of town, no airport, no seaport, just a whack of teleporters that decided to call my town home. They don't even seem to mind when I rezone without their approval, or for that matter when I destroy everything along a 2km-long stretch of road just to make it wider. In an emergency, crews are dispatched only with my consent. In fact, I take time out of my busy schedule to drive a few of those emergency vehicles to their destinations (and poorly, I might add... driving across lawns and knocking other cars all over the place--thank goodness those drivers are unharmed and not at all angry with me for doing it). Along the way I might even pass a few flower pots that I could probably fit my car into, or I might see a couple of kids playing catch. In fact they'll still be playing several hours later, never having decided to play another game, eat, take a rest, or move from the spot they're in. Would that just be mere dedication, or is my town populated by cyborgs?!? I suppose that could be a possibility since one of our talented hometown architects, Andreas Roth, has just opened a Borg Cube next door to the local church. Oh sure, the citizens may not like that location, but let's just see them try to vote me out. Who's their alternative again? Oh, that's right, he's commonly referred to as oblivion. So long, suckers! This thread was a blast to read guys! I think chocolatemax hit the nail on the head with, I would run away screaming everytime I saw a gaint white arrow coming towards me. Touche! Thanks for starting this soldyne!
  6. SFBT THE BORG Entertainment Center by Ch P

LMAO!! Good stuff! I heard there's a pretty crazy dress code though. If there's no holodeck in there I'll be turning my half-metallic butt around and looking for a better club in another part of the Quadrant.
  7. Roundabout

Date: 12/9/2005 12:14:14 AM Author: The Sim Mayor No, there are no roundabout bats on the STEX. Do you have the latest NAM installed? It is located under the 'Moding Files' section. The NAM has roundabouts, but they aren't lots. They will build if you place the roads/streets/avenues right. I have a question also. Can a roundabout have four roads leading into it? A one-way road roundabout can have up to eight road/street attachments since there are eight tiles making up its circumference. Road/street roundabouts can only have up to four road/street attachments.
  8. One Churchill Place Canary Wharf

Flag's OK; most big corp's that operate in foreign countries include their own country's flag with the country and province/territory/state/county the building's located in. The only detail I'd consider upgrading is the night lighting (the lit windows aren't "random" enough). Altogether a great lot!
  9. Runway Markings Improvement Pack

Realism is the name of the game for me. You've done a wonderful job Voltaire, thanks for sharing it!
  10. Giant High School

First post... BOOOYAH! Design-wise, it's a start. Both the building and the school grounds are bland. Keep the field but lose the b-ball & tennis courts, and add parking for those (ahem) 11 000+ students. Not bad but I wouldn't use it at this point in its development.
  11. NDEX Citibank Tower by Superstar

I'm with 'Trooper... I nabbed all the dependencies but the lot hasn't been unwrapped yet. Is there a specific directory that one of them needs to be in?
  12. grand central station 3 rail transit inabled

BOOOYAH! First post... Always nice to have useable landmarks. The lot isn't "cramped" enough for a heavily populated city IMHO, so I'd like to see someone remove the parking and front driveway. Otherwise it's still a nice station for a mid-sized city.
  13. Church Pack

These look great! They can be rural and suburban, but also urban within the right setting. Every time I visit Montreal I'm baffled by the volume and variety of churches in dense downtown areas that fit in wonderfully with the surrounding modern highrises. Awesome work here.
  14. Nexis Ship Yard

To MsCharamut & mikeld (and whoever else wants to "language-bash"), not everyone speaks English! Simtropolis is Canadian but this is the WORLD WIDE Web. Check out http://www.freetranslation.com/ for help instead of expecting everyone to cater to you. >:-/
  15. GooberGen Aquarium

Awesome work! This lot makes for a fantastic downtown/harbour attraction. One of the hardest things to accomplish in this game is a decent waterfront, so this definitely helps to spice it up!
  16. Buffalo City Hall Buffalo NY

A "world-recognized" building Marc? "New York-recognized" is more accurate. But after looking it up on the web for comparison's sake, I must say you've done an A-1 job with this sarge! Wonderful detail... you've done it a lot of justice.
  17. Subtler zebra crossings

One more bit of constructive criticism: The lines could be even more faded in the spots where cars would pass and dull the paint. It might fit nicely with the original road texture anyway, which is coloured differently in the middle of the lanes where traffic darkens it.
  18. Subtler zebra crossings

A great job by morifari made even better! What's missing, however, is the solid brake line where cars are supposed to stop at an intersection. That would be a fantastic fix... hint, hint... :) ...Thanks buster!
  19. It looks like a turnaround for the last stop on the route so the bus can idle before heading back along its original path. If a crosstreet were added to the furthest point of that bus lane, would it connect to the lane to create access to the other side of the avenue? Just a thought.
  20. skyscraper Nephlon Arista Arixima

If the air... *puff puff* ...isn't too thin... *gasp* ...I'd love a crack at... *sigh* ...getting that penthouse... **THUD!**
  21. Super Center 2

It fits perfectly in the suburban theme and looks great in a main centre on the outskirts of the city. I'm from Toronto, shopping mall capital of Canada, so build an INDOOR mall (twice the size of SC2?) and you'll get THREE thumbs up from me!
  22. Retaining Walls Pack Vol 01

Looks very nice with a sunken access road to my "old" harbour next to my small raised downtown. We could really use some 90-degree walls (unlike these 45-degree walls) for sunken highways... I know a few talented ears out there heard that. :-)
