  1. Can't find it?... Ask here!

I'm just wondering - and if such doesn't exist, can they be requested - if a high-end commercial area (such as luxury stores or a mall of the type) exists in STEX? One area I am working in is filled with R$$$ and I think it would be suited for that area, but almost exclusively for such.
  2. PC Aloha Plaza

Thank you for your many additions! This is great for my suburbs.
  3. Show us your Seaport!

Where do all the additional warehouses and shipyard pieces come from?
  4. jestarr's BAT Thread

Excellent work! We all need our fruits to be distributed and it's a valuable download for every system.
  5. RRetail Development

It happens to me too. In fact, it took me over 10 years to rediscover SC4 after I literally stopped playing it in 2010 or so (even after occasional playing beforehand). Take your time - we all appreciate what you've done but your feelings are more important than anything.
  6. Show us your Airports!

I have made some major progress and Christee International Airport is now about 75% done. Just need to fill in the inner taxiways and ancillary facilities, as well as outside the property. The terminal was largely filled in previously, but now the taxiways are in place to allow all kinds of planes to move out of the 180 or so gates. There are six parking garages, and then all other parking takes place a good distance away, where the transit center is (although trains can come right to outside Terminal 3, all other transit buses and airport buses meet at an outer location, where airport buses continue to the terminals while transit buses circulate outwards). Terminals 1, 3 and 5 are domestic and Terminals 2 and 4 are international (customs takes place in an underground floor). Not much work has been done outside the property, but this can show how big it is. This is a large (4 km x 4 km) city tile. A sixth runway was added in late planning, to allow for triple takeoff capability. The adjacent north-south freeway (a major one) requires two tunnels. Runways 4 and 5 are designed for even the largest planes (747s, 787s, A380s). Runway 4 is over 12,000 feet long, basically running the length of the "city". Connections still need to be made to make Runway 3 (designed for smaller aircraft) connected. It is far enough that planes can land and take off concurrently on 09-27L and 09-27C. Likewise, Runway 2 is also capable of the largest planes, although it is a bit shorter so they need to be lighter. I still need to fill some taxiways in but the cargo facility is located at the side of the property. The AeroPark is an industrial area that is planned. Runways 1 and 2 cannot be used at the same time as they are too close, but they can be used in quick succession. (That should be Runway 4, not 3.)
  7. Show us your Airports!

I downloaded the massive airport package and I've used it heavily to build my new airport, which I've named Christee International Airport (after one of my stuffed animals). However, I'm wondering if more airline skins and updated ones are available on here or SC4E so I can modernize it or bring more airlines - including regional, national and international. After some minor adjustments, there are about 180 gates in my airport, capable of about 120 million passengers annually. I've reoriented a few when I realized it was either too tough to access gates or if there was additional space available.
  8. Show us your Airports!

It's currently only about 25% complete but the shell for my airport (which has not yet run) has been developed. There are 5 terminals as it is meant to be a major hub airport. Terminal 1: United and American, domestic terminal Terminal 2: Most airlines not associated with SkyTeam, international terminal Terminal 3: Other domestic airlines (Southwest, Alaska, Frontier, etc.), domestic terminal - also has a private plane terminal Terminal 4: Delta, other SkyTeam and a few other airlines, international terminal (it's a Delta hub) Terminal 5: Delta and regional airlines, domestic terminal The cargo area is off the screen on the road to the right, with Runways 1 and 2 serving it. Note that this is a large part of a LARGE city tile, allowing an 11,000 foot runway. The AeroPark is a planned industrial park, while the hotels and other facilities will be at the edge of the screen in the upper left in a commercial area.
  9. Art128 BAT Manufacture

Those are excellent! They would make great hotels for some of my tourist districts, particularly a beach district.
  10. Show us your Downtown!

I don't have pictures yet, but I've got two "Downtown" areas. The Old Downtown is where all the government buildings are, but I've capped the building heights there at about 12-14 stories and tried to maximize low and mid-rise buildings there. The New Downtown (an area I call "Crescent Bay") has the skyscrapers, up to nearly 100 stories with many being 50 or more stories and over 450,000 jobs.
  11. Show us your Universities, Colleges and Campuses

If there is one thing missing in the BAT, no one has really created a modular campus with realistic sizes (i.e., a campus about the size of a small 1kmx1km city). I know people have done great things with airports, seaports, amusement parks, natural parks and other similar facilities so it is quite surprising.
  12. SimCity 4 crashes and takes me to desktop

I'll look through all the suggestions to see if it works out well. I hadn't previously played the game since about 2009.
  13. FLUP question

    No I haven't. I'm still learning.
  14. FLUP question

I'm new here so I apologize if this was asked previously. Is there a way to make a FLUP that brings traffic through it normally? I like using FLUPs for rail-avenue (or certain rail-road) crossings in many cases but it doesn't let traffic through. In many cases, it is unrealistic to have so much train and auto traffic together at an at-grade avenue crossing. I want to be able to let traffic flow normally through an underpass. Also, can other designs for underpasses be created? I'd like to also have metallic colored underpasses, especially brown and black, which is more realistic for many rail underpasses.
