How would I avoid this in PIM-X? I seem to be getting the same lack of overwriting and lack of query using the PIM-X Lot Editor the same as the Maxis Lot Editor.

I suspect this is a relatively simple question, but I'm not terribly experienced with the Lot Editor or PIM-X. I'm trying to swap out some textures on a (ploppable) lot. The texture swap itself isn't the problem, but every time I save the lot it saves as a new lot rather than overwriting the existing lot. On its own that would be fine, I could just use the re-lot, but I'm unfortunately not able to query the new lot and can't tell if the new one is functional or not. Any advise would be appreciated!

That's brilliant, thank you so much for the assistance! Looks like its working correctly now.

Unfortunately, its not the wealth level not hitting the piece (which is getting its wealth from the diagonal in the original post), but that specific piece isn't getting a water assigned to it. All other network-over-canal pieces function properly for every wealth level except medium, and even on medium everything but rail works correctly. The Diggis Multiple Canal mod sets the wealth levels of the different banks used to No, Low, Medium, and High (For Citynut's ASK, Diggis' RPK, Simgoober, and CAL-Goober, respectively) in order to enable the T21 wealth changing for the functional canal pieces. The highlighted pieces are ordinary, non functional canal pieces that I've changed out over the the next few pictures to illustrate the problem more closely. For this test the only plugins installed are the NAM, Diggis's Multiple Canal mod, the 4 canal sets supported by the mod, and their respective dependencies. The highlighted bank pieces in the above image are the only things changing, the remaining pieces are canal pieces from the NAM (which change appearance from the T21 modding.) Here's the same image with the banks replaced with CAL-Goober pieces. Everything is working fine, the CAN-AM pieces have all changed to match the CAL-Goober set that is around them. Here is the problem again. Once again, the only pieces that have been changed are the bank pieces highlighted in the first image. All other network-over-canal overlays work fine for every wealth level, with the exception of rail-over-canal for medium wealth (Low wealth not shown in images, but is functioning correctly as well). I'm fairly confident the issue lies with the T21 modding itself as a result, but that's where knowledge comes to an end, as I really don't know my way around T21's. The problem isn't exactly critical, since 3 of the 4 wealth levels work for all networks, and Medium works for all but rail, but I'd still like to find the root of the problem so I can fully utilize the 4 canal options, especially as I start working to incorporate other canals that were previously non-functional. This is a bit of a niche problem, given that the Diggis canal mod isn't heavily used, but I've been trying to breath some new life into it. Unfortunately, I've found a display bug that I cannot seem to find the cause of. The problem is that the medium wealth (SimGoober canals by default, Moonlights in my modified version) display for Rail-over-canals is not displaying the water tile. All other T21 wealth stages display correctly for it, and this problem doesn't occur with any other network over canal. I had initially thought that the problem might have occurred during my modding, but I performed a fresh install of the Diggis mod and am getting the same results (shown in the spoilers below). This has me suspecting the problem is with the Network T21 modding in the original file, but this leads me to a wall as while I can modify GUID's and exemplars just fine, the T21 modding is unfortunately over my head. I'm hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction for what in the T21 I would need to change in order to correct the bug.

Moonlight's canals at the top are actually already fully functional, including stations (they're up on the STEX and on Moonlight's site). All I really did was make some modifications to Diggis's Multiple Canal Mod to replace Simgoober's as one of the 4 canals available. Most of the work was already done by Diggis, Barby, and Swamper,

Inspired by @rsc204's reply a while back on how easy it is to create new canals in the CAN-AM, I took it upon myself to try integrating Moonlight's canals in Diggis's Multiple Canal Mod since I don't use Simgoober's canals and I've been wanting to try out Moonlight's. Ended up being pretty simple to do, and now I don't have to pick between Moonlight or Cal Goober canals anymore.

First time trying out RHW. Took me the better part of two days to get the interchange as tight as I wanted while managing to keep the slope gradients reasonable, but it turned out pretty well in the end.

Hey everyone, I'm looking for a specific electricity/utility overhaul mod I saw some time ago. It changed up the way powerplants work and operate, but for the life of me I can't think of the name of it or find it in my history. If I recall, it followed the trend of *AM naming if that helps at all. Hopefully someone knows what I'm referring to, thanks in advance for any help!

Does anyone know where I might be able to find CAN-AM terminals for CAL-Goober Canals instead of Simgoober Canals? I swear I've seen them before, but can't seem to find them again.

Lets Join trying to build a scary! realistic port (Dysseldorf's River Port)

A bit late of a reply, but was this a preexisting zone before you installed IRM? If it was, IRM changes the industrial buildings and as a result can have some wonky effects on existing zones. Its best to de-zone anything before switching to IRM. -
Which mods are CAM 2.1 compatible?
Gwyain replied to MichaelJBull769's topic in SC4 - Custom Content
As someone why plays with CAM and with the IRM CAM version I should be able to add a bit to this. @Shadowstrike's CAM version of IRM will indeed work properly with CAM, but the IRM Addon Sets such as this are not compatible (at least out of the box): Another thing to bare in mind is that any other industry buildings you download will not necessarily conform to the density distinction IRM makes for I-D, I-M, and I-HT, which means you'll have have to change those manually with the Reader in order to keep the industry segregation of IRM. This of course becomes doubly important with CAM and IRM, since you may have to manually change the growth stage and the allowed density type for downloaded Industry lots. All this to say, if you don't want to get your hands dirty with modding growables, CAM and IRM (and especially both together) can seriously restrict what sorts of buildings you download and use - and as far as I know, there aren't any industry downloads outside the base set that will work with both IRM and CAM out of the box.- 24 Replies
