My mayor rating was tanking and I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. Turns out my city was getting flooded with strip club after strip club lol. This is the price I pay for installing Mathatter's NIMBY collections, but tbh worth it, makes an extra challenge.

How Should Use Open Grass Area Really?
badwithnames14 replied to Propfam's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I tend to put them in industrial areas them cover them in trees to fight pollution. It's amazing how much a few strategically placed tiles of trees can do to reduce air pollution in game.- 10 Replies

badwithnames14 replied to SpecialEddie's topic in SC4 Showcase
I made a bridge and put trees next to it. I leads to a military base complete with near by off base family housing cause Spandau be poor AF. All in all a quaint side of the river in a rapidly growing city, just ignore the guns, and missiles. Also there's a spider crawling over my pile of textbooks that dissapered. It could be on my bed. Minimum Mass Transit Usage To Keep Station?
badwithnames14 replied to BrianD90's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
That's only if you live in a low density area, are travelling late at night, or have a bad transit system. Major routes in my city (region ~ 360 000 people, Victoria BC, Canada) have buses running as little as every 6 minutes at rush hour, with every 15 minutes during the majority of the day. Now they are only every 30 minutes after either 7pm or 10pm depending on the day of the week and route, and there's no overnight service past about midnight except on Friday and Saturday sure, but that's nothing to do with buses as much as it's a function of passenger demand and funding. Vancouver for example has 24/7 bus service, which also is only every 30 minutes on the night routes, but like not a lot of people are travelling at 2am so does that really matter to the game that only simulates rush hour? Basically, no transit users don't always need to wait 30+ minutes. The majority of trips are done where and when you'll only be waiting 15 minutes at most for a bus. It's a scheduling thing, so no one's gonna tell me my fictional cities can't have high frequency buses! I admit stops still need to be accounted for, but then there's also bus lanes and priority signals that can make up that difference and it all gets complicated again.- 12 Replies

badwithnames14 commented on pcwhiz24's City Journal Entry in (SC4) The Story of a Mayor
Wow, this story just keeps getting better! I mean maybe not the whole death and destruction thing, but it's a very well told account of death and destruction, so yeah, cool! -

Buildings Disappearing in Game
badwithnames14 replied to lucasyordan's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I've heard of "Prop Pox" where props just start vanishing from a city, and this looks to be it. Sometimes buildings are really a prop on the lot, which would be why only some buildings are gone. The university is a great example where the normal BAT(?) part of the lot remains, while everything is gone. From what I understand there's no fix to it, but will defer to the experts. Hope you'll be able to find a fix. -
To go with the Discord vs other services discussion, it might be worthwhile for me to note that ModTheSims uses Discord for their live chat. I've personally never used it, but it may be possible to learn from another modding community that already has switched to Discord.

It seems that there's no building close enough to trigger the sidewalk texture. I think zoning/plopables only extend the sidewalk one tile around them, not 2 annoying as it is. The sidewalkless piece of road is surrounded by pedmalls and GLR, thus no sidewalk texture. It'd be great if anyone knew how to fix it without destroying anything, but if not you can replace the pedmall above the arrow with a small plaza, and that should create more sidewalk without harming sims routing too much.

Oh hey, what's this about a rain mod and above sea level water? It sounds pretty cool. I'm newish here so would you mind pointing me in the right direction? Oh and on the topic of bridges, long ago I found out about it while playing this tiny island raised far out of the sea that just so happened to have a ravine with the janky teraforming single digit year old me did. It was a wow moment coming from 3000. Twas a road bridge I made, and I thought streets couldn't be bridges, unless it's NAM?

@CorinaMarie Thanks, I hope I did good myself, Physics was probably fine, but Chemistry involved quite a bit of last minute studying. Nice poem. Anyway, I do still enjoy occasionally playing 3000, as well as 4. I do also enjoy Skylines, and Banished, though my computer could use some upgrading to get past lag fest central and meet the minimum requirements of the former for the first time. Another game series that I've liked for years is the Sims, specifically 2. I'm even building an urban neighbourhood in it right now, woo cities. Anyway, to expand my introduction a little, I live in British Columbia, Canada, on Vancouver Island. Um, walking is nice, I'm definitely a nerd who likes school, heck even my exams were kinda fun. Though the exams I got were more of a long test than a massive killing thing, possible helps that Provincials are in the process of getting killed off, leaving me as one of the last grades writing the English 12 provincial. Oh I also get the honour of being part of the last class of people born in the 20th* century to graduate, also saying that makes me feel old even though I'm only 17.... Huh I talked about school quite a bit. I'm also sorry to hear about NorryMouse, he was always there, even for a lurker like me. *BC splits years by birthyear, the cutoff is the end of December/New years. 1999 births are the class of 2017
