Hello, I have 2 two cities next to other one: the poor one with 450K R$ and the rich one with 150K R$$$, 600K CO$$$, and 40K CS$$$. I connect 2 cities with 4 monorail. I have 2 Elevated Modern Design HSR station that serve as the station of the first 2 rails and HSR Transit Hub for the next 2 in both cities. However, the people of the poor city only uses the Transit Hub, to even 300% of the capacity! That's a lot of traffic. How do I get such people to the stations? Well, my city uses tree branch structure. Each branch represents a long zone of 2x2, 3x2, 4x3, and/or 4x4. Each branch has its own bus station. I don't place bus station next to the stations because the stations have their own bus station. Back to the Transit Hub. Due to its 300% capacity, the rails that go on to the station is capped at 65,536. Yes, the 16-bit integer limit. And as you might guess, only 100K of traffic that goes on into the rich one. I want to have more traffic go to the rich city since only the rich city has offices and services. The question is, how should I do to convince people to use the adjacent station? I know in C:S, you can just add another route to the adjacent stations but you can't do it in SimCity 4. Thanks.

I have been playing this game for quite a while, several hours, about two days ago I have encounter that when placing trains and monorail stations, either next to a road or something, that there's no trains on the stations and the same with the monorails stations, This is very frustrating. And what I don't understand that this is a digital copy and Origin can't even help me resolve this issue. The game works good and the bus line works good. How can I resolve this? I don't get an answer anywhere. I'm about to tell Origin to remove it So, can anyone help me with an answer? Thanks skipper6780

I've got a city which I noticed the ticker crying about water being almost to capacity. After plopping a couple pumps and checking my graphs I saw the usage basically followed the supply, even after bulldozing the new pumps: This is not a large city, and normally the three pumps there would be more than enough.

I was looking back at my previous city to see how trains looked. I couldn't see any trains, although I did see this little green thing riding the tracks a few times. Questions: 1) Where are the trains? Surely there should be trains. I don't recall ever seeing trains, but I may not have specifically looked for them. 2) What's this little green thing. It's so small that it could probably only carry one passenger, apart from the driver, which isn't an effective and efficient use of my city's rail transport capacity. It's a single-city region, so while there are neighbourly connections, surrounding map tiles are empty. There's lots of passenger stations and freight stations, though, so there should be trains, at least in theory.

Hey guys just a general question because I like to see other's play style. When building mass transit what are your personal minimum usage numbers you like to see in order to keep the station you've built? For instance, I'll usually demo a station that sees under 300-500 usage AFTER I've taken steps to try to increase its use. Of course there are exceptions but that is my general rule. Input? Also, I'm not sure the minimum usage needed to offset the cost of the station upkeep using the default fares with NAM, anyone have this info?

Hi, I have a border between two cities that has a large difference in transit numbers when I look at each city. One city has a population of 180,000 while the other is newer with a population of about 20,000. They are connected by a highway and rail. On the large city side, it shows 13,000 bus and like 10,000 cars travelling on the highway to/from the small city. From the small city side, it shows more reasonable numbers of 4,000 cars and 1,500 busses travelling to/from the large city. On rail, it shows 13,000 from the large city side and less then 100 from the small city side. I usually have differing numbers between cities but never this large. I don't think this is an eternal commuter problem since there really is no loop infrastructure wise. Please tell me if there is a way to correct this. Thanks, fly

Tried something that I hadn't done before today. When I got the demand for an airport, I created it out-of-town and connected the business districts to it only by Elevated rail with parking garages at the in-town terminals of the EL. Workers went to work there but no passengers. Once I set up a road connection to the airport, then the passengers showed up. So, it appears that airports do not function as commercial traffic until you connect a road. I consider this to be an undocumented feature (bug).
