    Funny it is, when I came back from hiatus few moths ago, I was dealing with similar thoughts. What SC4 realy is? A simulator? A painting canvas? A sandbox? I was dealing mainly with the problem of idealistic approach the game has and with the impact of omniscent way of playing on my life. And the impact exists - who hasn't thought at least once in his/hers life to swing with hand/click with mouse and erase all problems? Because of that, I want to thank Matias for interesting article.

    Thanks, I am not looking for a replacement nor for a new tree controller. I think I would have to create my own tree controller to satisfy my wishes. I just want to make those trees go away. Regarding this, I have just remembered that every single custom made tree controller includes some exemplars that disable Maxis' god mode trees from growing. Probably I have to open Reader now ... Thanks anyway

    Hi everyone, I am looking for a kind of Maxis tree blocker. You know, those trees happen to grow automatically over time, I would like to stop that. I have searched a little, but found nothing. Any ideas? If not, I can create such blocker myself.

    Thanks for pointing this to me. Actually it doesn't contain any props, just automata. But with help of a tutorial by rsc204 (I know it is here somewhere on Omnibus) I will be able to get what I want. Thank you very much

    Hello, I am looking for Jestarr's 'Pulpwoodcar,' either the CN or BN - the orthogonal one. In BSC Mega Props - Jes Vol 6 I can only find the rotated version; I also checked the Prop & Texture Photo Catalog on SC4D and tried to find it in other Jestarr's mega packs, but with no luck ...

  13. RRW wide curves

    So, you have RRW installed, and I think something is changing your textures. Nothing to worry about. Few options: 1. You have to be sure NOT to install any other components regarding railway. Under "Additional Features and Customizations," all of the "Rail Texture Style" options should be unticked. 2. Check your Plugin folder for old railway mods, like PEG 205 mod or anything you were using. I am almost certain it is not compatible with RRW. Hope that helps somehow

    I tend to agree with CorinaMarie about those tags, I think it has to be clear what means what - default Maxis wealth categories are widely accepted: R$, R$$, R$$$, CS$, CS$$, CS$$$, CO$$, CO$$$, I-R, I-D, I-M, I-HT. And then something different for designating height: e.g. low-rise, mid-rise, high-rise ... @FlyHigh, from your differentiation is not very clear if your tags are meant to designate height or wealth. But otherwise yes, certainly, well made guide, clear and simple.

    Yes, turorials ... but knowing my capabilities I am more useful for tagging and repairing broken links etc. Indeed, some elementary info could be added to each file, I was misguided quite a few times, but I think this is more like a "bonus feature" (20,000 files ...). But, it is worth to think about it.

    Appalachian terrain mod by Lowkee (available on LEX) is quite brown, but not really similar to the Maxis colour scheme. There are some mods that match your description, but are not HD.

    I volunteer as a tribute! I can't predict what the future is going to bring me, but at this stage I would probably be able to find some time to help here. Regarding pictures from old tutorials, I do agree that it is a very sad thing so many of them have disappeared, but with a little help of imagination and this superb community, nothing is really lost ...

    That's great! You could add that pressing TAB+Ctrl changes items in reversed direction. Very useful if you accidentaly hit TAB too many times ... Took me way to long to discover this, clicking TAB to circle through items again
  21. That is probably because the tree controller was made that way. I have never used it, so I can guarantee you, but some others, for example c.p.'s Missouri Breaks tree controller - it doesn't plant anything on flat lands at all. Solutions: choose different tree controller, one that will plant trees where you want, or; terraform your map a bit, make it bumpier - that should enable planting trees where you want them. Hope that helps

  24. Travel Speed

    Since the Wiki is up and working (it is readable), I can give you a link - I think this is what you are looking for. Btw, I have an old backup of SimCity1.dat and the values for walking, driving, bus and truck are a little bit lower than those on the Wiki. I think I haven't got NAM installed at the time I made that backup; is there anything else (mod, patch ...) that could play with values?
