It's looking pretty good there Cool Z and you are going down the same route I used to learn something of the BAT, PIM and LE. Pay attention to what SimCoug tells you and you should do just fine. iLive's Reader can be a bit intimidating but not too bad once you begin to use and understand it. My best advice is to back-up all the SimCity.dat files (there's 10 or 11 of these) because eventually you will get into fooling with these too. Good Luck

Well Cool Z, I've only been doing this since last Fall myself so I am no expert either but your idea of over-sizing the textures sounds interesting, has this worked for you? The last picture I posted is the closest zoom in-game and when you look at the Ranger Station I used for scale, you might just have something there, especially in the roof areas! Thanks, I'll give this a try. I have accumulated quite a bit of information on most things SimCity that you might find useful instead of searching through the Forums: https://sites.google.com/site/runamuckshooch/useful-information Maybe you will find something of use there and thank you again for your idea!

Thank you Cool Z, I'm still working on the textures, canvas is rather difficult at making it look right!

OK folks, hopefully I've got this right for you fellow Hobbyist. These are in-game images of the latest Props I am working on. The Materials are Wood & Canvas but I need to add something to the Materials to make these look better, any ideas out there? I use Photoshop to generate Materials/Textures and Canvas is a real SOB. I hope these Images show up and I have not screwed up the links again.

Hello Fellow Hobbyist, here is a preview of something that will be coming to a STEX near you from Runamuck's Workshop: These are just preliminary at the moment while I work on the Wood & Canvas Textures/Materials a bit more. This is a companion set of PROPs to go with the Native American Shelters that are now on the STEX. Since the scale looks pretty good, any suggestions out there on the materials and textures?

Calibrating the SC4-B.A.T. Light & Camera Rigs
runamuck replied to runamuck's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Hi Madhatter, I could not agree with you more about textures. I re-worked the default Light & Camera Rigs so that what I saw in Photoshop, the BAT Tool and the SC4 Model files matched as closely as possible so that I would not have to do a lot of this "Back & Forth Test Rendering" or Correction Layers in Photoshop or guessing at what the SC4 File will really look like! I'm new to all this so, I'll see how it goes. Thanks for you comment! -

Hello Fellow Hobbyist, these are my first Model creations for SimCity 4 and are designed to be used as PROPs in the Lot Editor (LE). Choose the Props Tab and search for "Native or Native American" and these will show up in a group of 5 for individual selection. I hope you find these useful and would appreciate your feedback, whatever it is, because it helps me to make better Models. I'm my worst Critic anyway! Thank you for having a look at these. Installation: Once you unzip this down-load, you will find Installation Instructions and a Data Files Folder containing the 5 Model Data Files. Just place these in your Plugins Folder and fire up the Lot Editor. Runamuck (Born Too Late) -
This has been removed until I look into all this lighting stuff further for various compatibles here and there. What works for me may not work for you................................Runamuck

This post has been removed until I get a chance to look deeper into Lighting and Color for both Gmax and Photoshop.

Thanks guys, I thought this is how it was done but was not sure if there was a more direct way of doing this. When I first joined this site last Fall and tried to insert images I kept getting a message saying my browser settings will not allow such things, paste your image in this little box thingy and that never worked for images, text only. Haven't seen that box in quite a while now, maybe it's screwing with folks on another site and decided to stay there. I like T Wrecks "Tall Ships"!
