Like the concept a lot, I'm such a fanatic of roundabouts!

In any case, the MHO roundabouts are a great alternative if you need something more compact; the only problem is that you have to be much more careful when doing the slopes, because the entire piece sits on flat terrain. Oh, and of course, the slopes have to be 15 metres deep, which is very unrealistic, but is bound to the MHW standard.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

Yo, guys --

Refresh my memory.

I know the "Pedmalls" work with commercial buildings.

Do they work with Residential lots ??  (Or do I wind up with abandoned buildings?)

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

Only for commercials.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Also for industrials, given there is some way to reach a freight exit, as a heavy rail line, even if is not directly connected to a lot, but across other industrial lots of the same density.

I'm turning my attention to the north side of my cities' river, working to develop an industrial area in a tropical setting.

Here it is, viewed from the east:

You've certainly a knack for this.

Absolutely beautiful, no one else even comes close.

In awe, and totally envious

For me this page took more than 2 minutes to load - must be ~15MB or more. Sadly this thread reaches dimensions my connection (?) can't handle well anymore. Some of @Haljackey stopped after 1/3 (timeout?). And it's one of my favorites threads to visit... :(

Just made an STR addon for my RRW Ramps, find the updated package on the STEX:

15MB is nothing... even before the images come into play, the site itself uses a hideous amount of memory/bandwidth. This is by no means unique to ST, but I can only dread to think how hideously un-optimised most web sites are.

"web 2.0" has a lot to answer for, no one tries to keep things efficient since they assume everyone is on the latest 100MB+ connections.

However, as displayed these images aren't that big, assuming they are not ridiculously high-quality, I don't think they should total 15MB. OK, it's not big (582x261px), but the image in this post is 21KB, it's called optimisation folks :D.

This has been one of my little "pet peeves" with ST as well for quite a while! Even though modern technology has improved internet connection, a lot of us out there still suffer from shared bandwith - which makes this situation slightly annoying...

There have been "rules" (ex: jpg >png due to file size) in place in the past to improve this situation, but it seems they are not being practiced much anymore :(

As I frequently use a cell phone metered connection to access the site, this is also a thing I have had to resolve somehow. This could be useful:

http://www.opera.com/de/turbo

Its a function that compresses images on a third party server before sending it to your device, reducing in an important measure the total downloaded size. Of course, that's not good for privacy (notwithstanding what the developers say), but for visiting public pages, I think there is no harm.

Yo, guys --

I'm working on another city -- and it occurred to me that I might need a second opinion (or more).

(1)  Am I getting a bit carried away with the trees - ??

(2)  Would it look better with a bit of "sand" splashed in among the trees ?
