Got tired of the same old warehouses in my ports, decided to relot something with a little more corporate feel.

A nice haul for the day...

I like those cranes you got there, Bud -- *:thumb:

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

(Harry Lime to Holly Martins...Graham Greene's THE THIRD MAN...1949)

Wait @Krisman what's the deal with those tunnel portals? How did you so ever slightly offset them?

Those tunnels are the avenue going underground and re-emerging on the right side just outside the picture.

the slightly offset is because everything in my city is lotted (not functional) and to me it felt more like a real life setup 😇

This grassland texture is really beautiful. If you could share it, it would be a blessing for the mayors

Some of you may have seen my past post with the amazing trees from Barroco Hispano, but in the background you also notice suden valley (more warmer version tweaked in an image editor) and a unreleased water mod, well that water mod it's a previous version from a water mod I been making this last 3 years, yeah, I bit slow for a water mod, but I don't have a fancy PC monitor screen, and I don't have enough time and inspiration to make this continuous, repetitive and exhausting testing that was the result of SC4 bad color interpretation in modern hardware and Sofware, my bad English (the reading part, but recently I notice a little improvement and the mistakes I made because of this). I'm still learning how SC4 works in the modding aspect, but reading Gobias threads about his terrain mods works, an infinite number of threads like Gone Fshin and 32 bit color. I'm still not really sure why my edited texture from Suden Valley looks so bad in game. Compared with my water mod. :(

The texture I'm using in the bottom image from the game, this it's how it looks in my image editor and photo viewer:

I don't understand why SC4 under-saturate terrain like grass, beach or rock textures and some water mods don't, like in this case, the water texture it's more desaturated compared to the same one in action. It doesn't make any sense to be honest.

From what I remember when discussing it with @rsc204, there is an option to color-correct textures which renders them darker than the original file. But this is mainly used so that new items play well with the pieces already existing in game. Perhaps you are using this but don't really need it?

I noticed that whenever I tried to push something through GoFSH to use it in the game later, the textures did become slightly desaturated but not to the point where I'd be dissatisfied with the result (I actually exaggerate the color in the original file in advance, before processing it). I hope you solve this issue, because this is really a beautiful texture material.

The "SimCity 4" vanilla Opera House is the most evil thing in existence. Avoid.

@rivit wrote something about it years ago, saying that, as everything else by Maxis, the game colour palette is based on Southern California, and so it's a little sun-bleached and dusty.

One of the secrets of SC4 is "finding" a "dumb" method that allows you to do what you want.  You keep trying stuff until you hit the right one.

No such thing as a "dumb" question or method......

Congrats -- !!

You have found a winner......*:thumb:

That’s not random, that’s amazing!  and game changing bringing modern  lighting like this into a 20 year old game.  Keep up the great work!

Nonsense, here's 5 right off the top...

How do bankruptcy attorneys make any money?

Why do round pizzas come in square boxes?

Why is it that when people are asked what they would bring to a deserted island, they never answer ‘a boat’?

If people from Poland are called Poles, do you call people from Holland ‘Holes’?

What does ‘OK’ actually mean?
