Eventually, I'll get around to writing up a tutorial on photographing this game. It will be quite lengthy because I've uncovered a lot of secrets about that aspect of the game.

Yes, please :D

"If you try to please everybody, you often times end up pleasing nobody, especially yourself. When somebody offers to do a favor for free, like making a mod for SimCity 4, you shouldn't be overly critical of something generously given to you. In other words, you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth." - Twilight Sparkle after playing SimCity

"Being a mayor or a content creator for SimCity 4 is a heavy responsibility, Patrick. Each city and each custom content is like a child, and must be treated as such." - SpongeBob Squarepants after playing SimCity

Now THIS has possibilities......*:thumb:

(THANX for checking this out -- I've been writing too much stuff lately -- no time for tinkering.

Too bad it doesn't look like the Firth of Forth bridge....I've got a place for that one! *;)

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

Curious as to what @Honolulu wants to achieve with this slope mod! Given just how differently players go about their city geography, their preferences between ease of use, realism, and ability to terraform precisely, making slope mods can be quite a personal experience, unless you know a target audience you want to cater to!

Slope mods influence networks Monorail, the most ristrictive,RHW following,Smooth road eases some less tealistic slopes, rail slope little more less Ennedi mod most extreme freedom. Flat work terrain restriction mods, reduce creativity quit significant as there,s the absceneofvany layerd netwprks. No slope mod isn't very realistic as mnimum slopesvare more realisticvthan the in game slopesvavaible.b RHW mod for road rail most natural, still highspeed rail couldn't without monorail mod !

Interchange reconfig to widen the mainline. The interchange to the east provides the missing access, and the weave lane length is extended by moving the ramps to the other side of the overpass. Now 3 full lanes each way.

I'm tearing down the old Downtown of this city. It's lovely, but it started as an entirely different plan, with radial avenues extending from the roundabout above (which is located pretty much near the geographical center of the city) and a small, irregular, somewhat walkable Old City centered around a central square.

Small, somewhat walkable cities aren't really compatible with large, majestic buildings like the Reichstag here. I had to all but remove the central square and shuffle the other government buildings around to make it fit. I had also planned to build a large boulevard connecting this Reichstag to a pretty Arc de Triomphe a few blocks down, but the boulevard kind of ended at the roundabout at the bottom, and then the route turned into a narrower avenue and a small green corridor to maintain at least somewhat a direct line of sight.

These couple of pictures are how things stood before the remodelation.

And here's the end result. As you can see, I swapped the Reichstag for a fictional building, and I changed the main cathedral. I also removed all at-grade railway crossings, which weren't consistent with a busy downtown. I still had to comprovise a bit by placing the main tram station, which is also a hub for two subway lines, in the middle of the boulevard, and the end of the avenues around the new Legislative House is a bit wonky, so I might have to reroute that a bit. But now there's a mostly clear (I mean, there's the tram station, but it has a very low profile) line of sight from the LH to the AdT, which was my main intention.

I also took the time to pedestrianize the Old Town area.

How do you think I should fix the end of the two one-way avenues? I'm taking suggestions.
