Just plop them on top of the road (for straight pieces). For transitions, you can't plop them on top of the transition. Just plop the 'cosmetic' transition instead of the transition you have used.

Make sure they are made as FLEX otherwise, the B transition won't work on a plopped ramp.  If you catch my drift.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

My first interchange that incorporates the RHW-10S
furman%20bridge%20diamond%20interchange.

Hopefully, the wizards over on the NAM team will be able to give us something like this - I've seen these in person and they're quite neat (Keystone Parkway, Carmel, IN):

(snip)

That's actually possible to build. It's a raindrop interchange and

Nice work everyone!

The last few posts here inspired me to try my hand at a FAR dumbbell, I like the extra long ramps hehe.

Pardon the lack of eye-candy....

Attempted my first clover leaf today.  I thought I would go for one of the space-saving varieties. (I hope I am posting these images right.  Image is attached if it doesn't show in the messagepost-689550-0-33268400-1423618185_thumb.
Cheers,

Johnny

It's great that we can create these intersections and highways, but often it really ended up as aesthetic only, at least in my case.

Spent days creating highway from commercial/industry at one shore to residential at the other shore... and the sims just act like they don't know there are jobs at the other shore and no one uses the highway.

It's... disheartening.  :(

I know the feel bro.

Wanna know what I do, to make them alive?

I build poor cities. That's a boomer, I'll tell ya'.

Build lots of poor cities, raise taxes for the R$$ and R$$$. Voilá!

Sims will travel to reach destinations you never thought possible.

I once had sims travel across 4 big city tiles!

@kingofsimcity: Thank you! I plan to build a quite dense city around it, as the Highway 140 (which is a spur of my Redmund highway), which is the north/south highway (or the 6C/8C mainline), is perhaps the most important north/south highway currently in my region. I find this quite interesting because I originally intended it to be a short, 3-4 exit expressway, and now it has 12+ exits. More importantly, though, the fact that you compare me to Haljackey just makes me blush lol (but I did inspire my interchange after the interchange he built in Parts 48-51 and 83-86 of Building a City from Scratch). Also, dat interchange doe!!!! It is BEAUTIFUL!!!! WOW!

@Niellezzz: Very creative on the with the interchange, you certainly worked well with your space constraints and successfully connected a 3-way while getting the highway to shift. Beautiful! I would probably recommend using a highway signs pack and highway lights for decoration, but I take nothing away for that kind of ingenuity. Welcome back!

He's saying there's no such thing, so if you want 2 lanes of capacity to make that movement, you need to build two separate carriageways.

I can see how that would work in real life - much the same as at signals with dual left turning lanes.  Everybody would crowd the left (shorter) ramp and I would use the right, thereby reaching the merge to the "southbound" highway fastest.  Idiots. :D
