Can anyone tell me why this interchange isn't working?

What's circled is evidently where the problem is. But for the life of me I have no idea why. I'm unable to drive UDI vehicles once I get to that overpass.

I think it's better to ask this question in the general discussion forum. There are several answers that might apply to this question, thus a different topic might be better. If you've downloaded the extra cheats dll you might consider using the cheat 'drawpaths' instead. This gives more information about the paths on your transportation network than UDI (such as driving orientation etcetera). You can disable the paths with the cheat 'hidepaths'. Personally I prefer using this cheat instead of the UDI.

The set-up of your interchange is quite nice. However, with two minor adjustments it might get even better. I see that the exit at the bottom of your second picture is elevated. It might look better if you would elevate the rest of that piece of highway as well. Now the highway is going down and up again. The L2 height is 15m, this difference is quite large and thus a bit unrealistic. I would also advice using the 45 degrees RHW4 curves that you can find in the curve-menu. This way the curves of your highway are a little bit smoother which adds some realism as well. Placing them could be quite a headache but it's totally worth it. ;)

Good luck with your interchange!

<dual snip>

My guess is a single tile underneith the overpass didn't convert into RHW-4. Try just dotting with the most on the road on a tile just before or after. That should probably do it.

I downloaded the cheats plugin. Does this help?

I guessed maybe I had the puzzle pieces too close together. So I experimented w/a setup where there was more travel space for the overpass. Still doesn't work.

I'm guessing the NAM doesn't account for Maxis diagonal over RHW diagonal?

I've at long last got a couple to show here, this (as far as I know) unique interchange, what I call a flipped turbine:

Plus the diagram for it:

I've also got another (as far as I know) unique interchange, what I call a triple-split turbine:

I like it. Especially the second picture looks impressive. That's a very confined area for an interchange. Only point I have would be that you could use more smooth turns/ FARs. That would definitely add to the realism.

A custom four way interchange I constructed earlier, the highway parting left is a bypass for the route going into a more suburban area.

My first creation after a SC4 hiatus. Ironically it was buying Cities Skylines which triggered me to start playing SC4 again. I just can't leave it. :)
Anyway, any ideas for what I should fill up the empty space with? I'm not fully comfortable with the stadium...

From what i can tell thats whats cool: he has this view not because of some mad photoshop skills, but because of some mad FAR and Diagonal skills.

The terrain made this one a bit of a irritating build... in the end I had to separate one of the ramps from the main interchange and put it farther up the highway on the other side of the retainer wall (which is technically a seawall but whatever). There's also a second group of ramps but they only serve one side of the highway. I still have to develop the area around it and add some more highway ramp signs and such... :P

That is a sweet diagonal interchange you got there MushyMushy! (Is it the FARR pieces you are building as such?) In addition, the powerlines that run parallel to your highway make it (in my opinion) a notch better. I would also suggest putting some MMP grasses that cover the bases of the powerlines, if you would like to.

    Overall, awesome job! :D

So far a good job. Me'thinks a slope mod is called for, along with 'clean' screenshots:- sans overlay

i was trying to make this fit where the tunnels already were dug etc. the airport was also already there. i have the slop mod installed im just still new at it too. the num lock key makes the overlay stuff disappear correct?

ok i went back and learned the slope mod real quick and changed most of them i could in my city that i had room for. from now on i will just slope it when i make it of course. is this a little better?

definately better but try a more restrictive one, I use a moderate restrictively slope as to keep realism

i did others tonight that came out smooth. i will post em up tomorrow. i dont like the really long ones for space but i like the smooth look of course i am still working out how to make it really pretty, like posts on here. thats why i started asking questions.

also more restrictive would mean smaller ramps or what lol.

Looks better for sure, I like the forest you've planted around it :D

Got me in the mood to show off a simple urban junction and highway system:

    t5hTeSH.png

In case you're wondering, I am using the Ennedi Slope Mod - the 'Mount620.dat' file. Obviously it means you have to plan out your urban network a little differently (I tend to remove the mod when building Maxis/vanilla tunnels or bridges) but one would say it's worth it, wouldn't you?

it looks really realy good its just too spread out for me. i have some others i did finishing my highway up today that came out really smooth and look a whole lot better. if i plan the slope a little its not so bad but on some tunnels i only had 1 tile of space to work with so i left them short and steep. i think i may upload the finished highway spur that interchange is from and a couple others now that its done in that region.
