Actually found 2 more for you over at SC4D:

ARDEN Seasonal Tree Controllers (v1.0) by vortex  (found this using LEX category "Mods - Graphics" under Power Search)

Meadowshire Coast Tree Mod (v1.0) by c.p. (found this using the LEX category "Mods - General" under Power Search)

Here are several available here (T Wrecks, in his comments on these downloads, refers to these as tree controllers):

Ah ha...While reconstituting my terrain plugins a couple of days ago, I was actually thinking, "Cori just needs to a flora shoppe next"!  Thank you both, Cori and Jolteon.

Since @CorinaMarie got lazy politely requested that I write this, ...

As we discussed in the chat room, since you are doing all the work to get them installed and taking the pictures it just makes sense for you to write a thread. My overall goal has always been helpful threads I would like to have found on day one of joining ST. I feel these will be useful for new peeps who have just started playing as well as veteran players who may want to check out other options.

I do envision an expanded version in which I not only have a linky to each parent mod, but to every dependency and sub-dependencies and sub-sub-dependencies, etc so I will likely do my own version of this shoppe at some point. ;)

Is there any way to remove a tree mod and revert back to the Maxis trees? I installed the Yucatan Tropical Tree Mod about 4 years ago and since then have tried to remove the mod but littered my cities with brown boxes.

Install the SimCity 4 Extra Cheats Plugin , then in the game press Ctrl + X, and type: Flora off

The extra cheats plugin isn't needed for that to work, tho it is a nice addition. Keep in mind (as @rsc204 pointed out to me in another thread when I suggested this) the Flora Off will also destroy all MMP stuff you may have plopped in the city.

I would recommend changing your setup to include the tiniest bit of waterside, as some tree controllers also include water/marsh flora.

Chances are, if you've used the 'FloraOff' cheat to rid yourself of the previous tree controller, that you forgot to turn the Flora timetable back on via the use of 'FloraOn'. If you forget to turn the flora back on, the tree controller and MMPs will still work, but they won't cycle through the seasons.

Also, it would be remiss to mention Seasonal Tree controllers without mentioning Vortext's Aerden tree controllers.

Is that persistent with the saved tile? Like I could install a seasonal tree controller but do flora off one time then paint the trees on and save? Then that would reduce CPU use on my weak comp.

I'm pretty sure that it is persistent across saves.

However, your trees will always be in fall. A better bet is that, if I understand correctly, seasonal tree controllers often offer non-seasonal variants.

Also, pretty much all non-HD terrain mods lack the Seasonal Flora patch, so they won't show seasonal trees properly anyways, though keep in mind the net result again is that seasonal flora is all stuck in Autumn, which may not always be the desired effect.

I'll look into that, but it's not likely that I'll update the existing pictures.

That does explain why Pacific Northwest didn't cycle through the seasons... I'll redo that one.

Just demolish every tree you've planted.

edit: don't do that, follow rsc204's advice below instead

The thing is, that's really not a very good solution for most. Since if you miss just one tree, you might end up with serious problems (CTD when entering the tile).

Brown boxes are caused by missing model files, but, you only get them when you have the Prop/Flora/Building exemplar still installed. If you are missing the exemplar, even if the models are installed, the behaviour changes. This is because without the exemplar, nothing links to the model. In the case of a lot/missing prop exemplar, you'd simply have an invisible object with no brown box.

But in the case of flora placed using a tree controller, having missing exemplars would cause the game to CTD either upon loading the city or possibly when terraforming/using it. I can imagine a scenario, where later down the line, it would be next to impossible to locate such a problem, should those errors start. Therefore it is imperative that any trees/flora placed using a tree controller are removed, BEFORE you change your installed tree controller. In my opinion the only guaranteed safe way to do this, is using the Flora Off, then Flora On "cheats" via the interface of Buggi's ExtraCheats.dll. Bear in mind a side-effect of this is that all MMPs placed in a given city (since MMPs also use Flora, not Props), will also be permanently removed from it.

Frankly, if the real problem is brown boxes, I'd try to fix that first. Although if you have such a problem, you really shouldn't save your game in the meantime. Because it's only when you place trees and save that you can potentially end up with these problems. Fact is, brown boxes = missing dependency. Whilst occasionally modders do miss listing one, that's super-rare and I would not assume this was the case. You simply need to go through each listed dependency and ensure you have it installed. I've had people swear blind this answer is wrong, for mods I know personally are correctly made and documented. So ignore this advice at your peril.

And might I add something I read: Be sure you have the correct (latest) version of said dependencies. I forget who, but one of the peeps who created a tree controller mentioned the headache of users saying it was buggy even with having all the dependencies. The caveat was that they didn't update some of those dependencies.

Yes, that would be Blunder, who created Cascadia.

Common examples of such files are Girafe's Flora and BSC MEGA Props - CP Vol01/02. In both cases, the LEX dependency tracker will tell you at a glance if you have the latest versions. But if you are still having troubles, it couldn't hurt to re-download and replace any instances of them you had to be extra sure.

After all this time, I'm over my frustrations with tree controllers.  The recently added 'Central European Tree Controller' looks good. Thank-you for creating this useful resource.   Now that I think of it, the Fed Ex Tree Controller doesn't look too bad, its a bit abstract, but very artistic.  Boxes are made of paper, paper is made of trees!  *

Which one the Fed Ex or the Central Europe?   Actually I think I'll try both.  It amazes me he didn't get a CTD with so many missing dependencies.  I gotta try it.

Seems like a good place to ask my dumb question. If I have city tiles with lots of God mode Maxis trees do I need to Flora Off them before adding a Tree Controller? Or can I add one and then it just makes more new trees available?
