Hey guys, I'm new to this community and making videos. Ive been playing Cities Skylines for a while and like to make cities with as realistic American traffic as possible. This video would be for a player experienced with the traffic manager mod, also on my channel is Part 1: Mod Setup. Appreciate any feedback!

So I've been writing various "In a Nutshell" guides to various topics, primarily for the Mac because 1) I'm a Mac user and 2) there's so little Mac content & help out there. (I have SC4 101 for the Mac & Mac Troubleshooting/Mac Bugs & Glitches. Which, the latter could be useful for Windows users for trying to determine if the issue someone posted in the Help forum was Mac related or not.) THAT being said, I have a bunch of Nutshell guides in the pipeline for a bunch of different topics, including a generalized beginner's guide, LGBTQ+ files, Jewish/Judaism related files, Asian files (this one's huge), and a little one on the best of Beer files (taken from a response I made to someone). (I might do the best of 1x1 & 1x2 C$ files, because I love those quirky little shops. Also, possibly Islamic files.) I was wondering if 1) someone had already done anything like this to add to the collection (no reason for me to reinvent the wheel, and I'm always down for adding other people's expertise) and 2) if anyone has any requests (no topic too specific, although some may be too hard to search for). (FWIW, the "In a Nutshell Guide to the Best of Simtropolis files" would be the STEX Collections. I have 2 of them so far and I always find my favorites that I already have in there, as well as find totally new ones I never knew existed! (Like when I found out that @paeng made more of the yellow brick parks. That was a Good Day(TM).) Get the best of the STEX and support the website at the same time!) So... any suggestions to add to the collection? Any requests? They can be collections of files, they can be instructional. (Heck, if I knew anything about making plugins, I'd write some of those, too.) They take a surprising amount of effort/intense focus to make (but it's a labor of love), so I'd rather do ones that people are actually interested in. ----- Full List of In A Nutshell Guides Currently Being Crowdsourced - Please Contribute! Where To Put Guide Text Files? (& Other Site Cleanup Discussion)
c4bl3fl4m3 posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
So I've been writing up some files for helping people on various topics... a more generalized beginner's guide, a guide to LGBTQ+ content, and I think I'm going to do one with Canadian content. Where would be the ideal place to put these files? Copy & paste in the forums? Which forum? Or should I be posting them somewhere else? Thanks? -
Tutorial or Guides for Constructing Realistic Airports
Jimmyson posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I have downloaded the RMIP and ACE Modular Airports Sets off SC4 Devotion and I need to find a tutorial on how to construct a realistic airport. I have come across a set of videos on YouTube, but they are not very useful for myself and the words overlay the content and the recorded Screen size is very small. There was a thread on another forum detailing the construction, but the screenshot have since been removed, or are no longer available. Is there a new and updated tutorial on this? -

This is a mod that modifies guides in order to reflect the road functionality. Edge guides always respect the road density: if you're placing a dirt road or a low density street, the edges are at a distance that lets sims build a low density building. If you're placing medium or high density roads/avenues, the edges are at the right distance to build a medium/high density building. If you place train or streetcar rails, the edge guides are near the border. As far as road-guides are concerned, this is what happens: whatever road is already placed, if you draw a new road, you'll have the guide at the right distance to build a building on the existing road and one on the new road, both of the density of those roads. Rails are treated like the edge of the map: if you draw any type of street near a train/streetcar rail, the guides show you the distance for one building of the right density to be built on the new road. NO-AVENUE-ZONING VARIANT Chose this variant and use it instead of the normal "Functional Guides" if you usually don't zone on avenues. Using this variant, avenues are treated like rails, so guides are shown at a distance where you can draw a street and build a building on the street only. The guides at the edge are near the border. UDON AND NO-TRAFFIC-LIGHTS COMPATIBILE Use this mod together with latest versions of UDON and Max' no-traffic-lights streets mods to have functional guides with the new streets. It tweaks snap distances so you can actually follow the new UDON guides I added. Warning: UDON elevated and transition ramps/freeway don't show guides. If you use functional guides, but don't have those mods, only the snap distance will be lowered, so you shouldn't have problems when playing online (tell us if you have). I need you to test with other mods to show incompatibilities and needs. Of course it is incompatible with other guide mods.- 20 Comments

This mod provides a template layout for a perfect city with a maximum traffic efficiency to building density ratio. It does only change the guides that appear ingame, if you draw a street. As requested the most important information you have to know Instructions - Install by copying the .package file into your ...\Origin Games\SimCity\SimCityData\ folder - If you rename the file, make sure it comes before "SimCity_Game.package" alphabetically Warning - Modifying files is still experimental and might lead to city rollbacks (no rollback caused by this mod) - There is no official statement from Maxis nor EA about using mods, so use at your own risk - For more information on EA modding policy Useful Links: Google Spreadsheat (WIP) | Discussion roads 1st guide (2HD) 2nd guide (4HD) low street 1st guide (1HD) 2nd guide (2HD) med street 1st guide (3HD) 2nd guide (6HD) high street 1st guide (1MT) 2nd guide (2MT) avenue 1st guide (1HD) 2nd guide (2HD) transition between avenues and low street MT = MegaTower HD = High Density building There is only the transition between avenues and the low density street. Other streets or the dirtroad deliver wrong guides i would think. You should always use the same road/street to deliver you a guide. Examples: you have a low density street > pick low density (or avenue for transition) and let the guides show up you have a dirtroad > pick dirtroad and let the guides show up and so on To explain my decision for the transition: it will help you keep your avenues free of traffic. If you want the space between avenues to be higher it would mean there is no such help anymore. You would have to zone on your avenues. How the mod actually works you are able not to zone at your avenues. The only reason for me to do it like i did it. If there are any questions about changing values of my mod send me a PM please. some Credits XoXiDe for his great mod (see a lot of use in my pics) MaxisGuillaume (Closer Road Guides 1.0) and Skyestorme for his remake zombie12 (Real Population)
