Hi is there a mod where a city can have autonomous fires just like in SimCity 2013 or Cities skylines where there are random fire happening around the city and the firetrucks dispatch themselves automatically? I find it odd because once you have good fire coverage there are no fires ever.

I am new to your site and to SimCity Build it. I just can't over that I will place fire stations with extra trucks at strategic points through a city and fires continue to rage and are never seemly put out. I keep the trash, rubble and abandoned buildings cleaned up. So I am wondering is this just the game's way of making me remain attentive or some way of making sure I never get enough cash to build mega towers and other fancy stuff? Thanks for your site looks awesome and I am happy to be here.

Sydney Bushfires — December 2019 You've probably been hearing about my home city of Sydney, Australia, in the news. Yes, it's bad, and this is just the start of summer down here. That picture is new, taken yesterday, just 60km from my house, but pictures like that one are not new. We are no strangers to bushfire risks in Australia, just like some people live with flood risks or tornado risks, we have bushfire risks. Some locations are bushfire prone ... well, actually, many locations are. The main cities are generally safe, however. The locations of the bushfires hasn't changed, yet, but the vast areas occupied by our current fires is unprecedented, causing unprecedented levels of air pollution. That's our iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge, yesterday, and just see if you can spot the Sydney Opera House on the left side of that photo. We've never had this, ever. For a couple days, we became the most polluted city on the planet. The daily pollution levels can also be seen on this air pollution graph from where I live, close to the geographic centre of Sydney. That's two years of air pollution data right there. If we could go back 10 years, or 20 years, the results would look very similar. November 2019 and December 2019 have unprecedented levels of air pollution, and this is the reason why. The big white and yellow area on the map, is the Sydney metropolitan area, our largest city, home to 5½ million people, much of it low density urban sprawl, 65km across. The grey shaded areas, are our current bushfires ... yes, the bushfires are bigger than our largest city. That's why we have so much air pollution at the moment. The sheer immensity of these fires surpasses everything in Australia's recorded history. The two fires, south-west and north-west, are in danger of merging tomorrow on the tail end of Australia's record breaking heatwave this week. Four of the major highways out of Sydney are now closed. My home is not threatened, but there is nail-biting nervousness, because spot fires have been sprouting up all over the city, each one put out quickly, so far. The homes that are threatened are in the south west of the Sydney metropolitan areas, 20-40 homes lost yesterday, many more at risk tomorrow. Hundreds or maybe thousands at risk in the green areas on the mountains, where the fires are starting to encroach. There's literally 101 bushfires currently burning across my home state of New South Wales, Australia, and many more across the rest of Australia. The earliest bushfires started in August, and are still burning. Usually. November/December is the beginning of bushfire season. The size and number of current bushfires seem more like the climax of the bushfire season, but instead, we're at the beginning of one. These are beyond our ability to put out. We need rain. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019–20_Australian_bushfire_season "As of 15 December 2019, the fires have burnt over 3,000,000 hectares, destroyed over 700 houses and claimed 8 lives." Down here, our summer ends at the end of February.

Fire Realism Mod (FRM) +===========+ |WARNING | +===========+ This Mod will not be for everyone's taste. Buildings will occasionally burn down. If you highly value all your buildings, or think fires are a nucance, I would suggest NOT using this mod. Use at your own risk. +===========+ |DESCRIPTION | +===========+ By altering the firestation's exemplars, it is now possible to have a fire ignite anywhere. No longer just outside a fire station's coverage radius. In turn, this DOES slightly increases the occurrence of fires +============+ |INSTALLATION | +============+ Unzip, place .dat in Doc/SC4/Plugins. Sugget placing the 'Read Me's outside of the plugins folder to cut down on load times +============+ |DRAWBACKS | +============+ Certain lots/bats have high flammablity (Area 51, Airports), they tend to ignite more often than other lots/bats. If it becomes too much, you can also lower the lots flammability in the Reader. +============+ |DISCUSSION | +============+ For more info, and any comments, advice, feedback, or flames can be directed to this link: https://community.simtropolis.com/topic/59024-poll-fire-realism-mod/ +============+ |NOTE | +============+ This mod makes it wise to be more strategical with your fire station placement. Also, due to probably having to use more fire stations, I've made it possible to under fund the stations more than the default without the fighters going on strike, and easier to end the strikes if they do. +==========+ |DISCLAIMER | +==========+ This mod changes the default Maxis Firestations only. Any downloaded custom firestations will NOT work the same without being further modded. If you'd like to use the custom downloaded fire station, check out the Read Me. Don't come crying to me when a building burns down, you've been warned! +==========+ |THANKS | +==========+ Special thanks goes to Magneto for all the invaluable help with this mod. +==========+ |REQUEST | +==========+ If I may request, anyone using this mod, could you please state in the comments or linked thread "any Maxis Rewards that seem to catch fire more/too frequent than the rest of the lots/bats". This will allow me to create a v.2 that reduces the flammability of the most annoying Maxis content.- 26 Comments

Been working on a mod that increases random fires throughout the entire city, which got me to thinking if there are still others that would enjoy this as well. After doing some searching through ST/SC4D for related threads, seems this topic to be a bit taboo. From what I gather, about 2/3 rather dislike fires, but a handful of those (like me) that would like more action. Most of the information I came across has been from the years past and not so pertinent to the present. Don't really know if there are many left that would enjoy the increased amount of fires. This poll is to help me decide whether to bother with packaging up a mod, just creating a tut for others to DIY, or there's just not enough reason for me to bother other than for myself. Some reasoning behind the madness, is the craving for more "realism" in the simulation. History is riddled with disaster stories about fires vs cities. To me, this is sort of pivotal to a "natural" progression of a city. Even landmarks are not safe from disasters, unfortunately..but them's the facts of life. With fire comes the opportunity for growth. You ever wonder where you're going to put that new building in your city, well fires will definitely give you that opportunity.

Firemen didn't show up to work today
AlpineTiburon04 posted a topic in SimCity (2013) Technical Help Q&A
I have a nice city that used to be all $$$ and $$ with about 75,000 residents and for some unknown reason everyone started abaondoning it. I was down to about 14,000 when I managed to get people to move back in. It's now up to about 27,000 but the two firestations I have aren't putting out any fires. There are by my visual count right now 10 total across the city. When in the fire map I see nothing, so the firetrucks don't leave the garages. If I bulldoze the entire fire station and rebuild it, a fire sysmbol will spawn over one fire, all the trucks from that station will go to it, put it out, then go back to the station. My city is burning down so I just wait till the fires burn a building and bulldoze the rubble. Any ideas WTF is going on with the game now?? I should note I have no traffic with such a small population.
