HIDP (Heavy Industry Development Pack) This BLaM FK HIDP Mega Prop Pack combines many of the previously separate HIDP (Heavy Industry Development Pack) prop packs and some additonal models created by Fukuda. The former packs might have had a few bugs, which were addressed in this combined DAT file. This mega prop packs replaces the following former single prop packs: - BLaM FK HIDP Prop pack 1 (aka. BLaMFkprops1.dat) (this new megapack directly replaces this upload on the STEX download page) - BLaM FK HIDP Steel Mill Prop Pack 1 (the old link will redirect to the link of the BLaM FK HIDP Mega Prop Pack) - BLaM FK HIDP Steel Mill Prop Pack 2 (the old link will redirect to the link of the BLaM FK HIDP Mega Prop Pack) - The model files of the BLaM HIDP FX Chemicals and BLaM HIDP Messier Dye have been added to this BLaM FK HIDP Mega Prop Pack. Installation: Copy/Extract the BLaM parent folder into your Plugins folder. If you've extracted the ~Documents folder you may remove it from the Plugins, but keep it in a safe location. It is highly recommended to run the cleanitol with the installer and remove any previous versions of these files from your plugins. In the ~Documents folder in the main ZIP in the Prop-Texture Catalogue Index and Cleanitol/ folder you will find the individual cleanitol scripts for the model packs of this compilation and by using either the newer nos.17's SC4 Cleanitol or the older BSC Cleanitol tool you can search and remove old and outdated versions of these files. Quotes from the original descriptions: Steel Mill Props: "HIDP (Heavy Industry Development Pack) Is a large project that relies on making lots and BATs of any type and function to enlarge the possibilities of making (or trying to) realistic large industrial districts. This is a prop pack which contains steel mill models, from Open Hearth Furnaces to limestone cars, to be used in upcoming monolithic and modular lots, used as a dependency. The permission of a team administrator (patfirefigthr) has been given to upload the pack after a final test." HIDP Prop Pack 1: "This is a prop pack which contains especially vehicles, it also contains some other props, but they are fewer. This has been thought for lot makers, and I won't use it as a dependency pack in a near future. The permission of 2 team administrators (op4 and KT3) has been given tu upload the pack after a final test." HIDP (Heavy Industry Development Pack) Is a large project that relies on making lots and BATs of any type and function to enlarge the possibilities of making (or trying to) realistic large industrial districts. Those heavy ironworks are coupled with several steelmaking facilities, like 2 BOF shops, an open hearth furnace and an electric melt shop. It also includes gas washing facilities, water aerators and recirculators, a gas holder and a slag dumping pit. The props are nightlighted and show the inner processes of the given buildings. The lot is transit enabled and "rather" big, so reserve some spare land for it STATS: Location: Landmarks Lot Size: 9x31 Plop Cost: 22000 Bulldoze cost: 1488 I-D Works: 5294 Air Polution: 162 over 16 tiles Water Pollution: 97 over 20 tiles Garbage: 19 Power Consumption: 489 Water Consumption: 1382 -INSTALLATION- Installation: Copy/extract the BLaM parent folder into your plugins. If you extracted the ~Documents folder into your plugins, too, it's highly recommended to keep it, but move it out of the Plugins folder. Un-Installing: To un-install the files, simply bulldoze every lot from this download in your cities and delete the files from the plugins folder afterwards. To avoid conflicts, please, it is highly recommended to use any of the third party cleanitol tools and remove any previous versions from your plugins. In the ~Documents folder in the main ZIP you can find a Cleanitol_Fukuda_Jamison_Steel_Mill.txt file and by using either the newer nos.17's SC4 Cleanitol or the older BSC Cleanitol tool you can search and remove old and outdated versions of these files. -DEPENDENCIES- SC4D LEX Legacy - BSC Common Dependencies Pack v9 (and above) The below listed dependencies are all can be found in the hereby linked dependency pack compilation. · BSC Essentials v2025b NCD Railyard Texture Mega-Pack Vol01 v3 BLaM FK HIDP Mega Props The permission of a team administrator (patfirefigthr) has been given to upload the pack after a final test. -

This is my eleventh BAT as a BLaM member, I hope you'll enjoy it! This lot has been tested by Glenni and no issues or conflicts were found. I also scanned the lot with SC4 Tool and no dependencies were found Vapor Aymerich is the name of the factory where is located the Catalan Museum of Science and Technology (an industrial museum), at Terrassa, Spain. The modernist building, from Lluis Muncunill, shows very well the style, with plenty of round and bent shapes You'll see the machinery in the nave at night, when the greeny lights are lit Stats: Location: Civic Size: 5x3 (overhanging building) Plop cost: 1500 Bulldoze cost: 140 Monthly cost: 450 The nave is overhanging to allow a more flexible placing (as you can see in the pics) Thanks to Glenni for the testing task As you should know, I don't like dependencies, so: -NO dependencies- -

I was looking for new things to mod in the exemplar tree, when I saw what I could did with this exemplar. This mod allows you to place little pieces of I-r, wich is something useful for accurate fields and i's more flexible, no more "this zone is too small" will appear when you make new fields. It allows you to also make bigger zones and to build in bigger slopes. ;-) Hope this will be useful -

Fresh water is not always available everywhere in the globe, so industrial processes were developed to use seawater and transform it into fresh water. The most used one is called reverted osmosis, and it consists in pumping at high pressure the previously filtered seawater (in the green-coloured tanks in the plant are sand filters) through a set of membranes (inside the main building, visible at night that only allows H2O through it. Doing that, we obtain fresh water and concentrated brime, that is later diffused into the sea. Fresh water is then re-ionized and pumped into the water system. This process needs quite a lot of energy, and the plant has a little power plant with 2 generators and 2 smokestacks. The building comes with a 6x3 lot that must be placed on land and an overhanging jetty to be placed on water, so you can build beaches and another around the building. Reminder: this building uses High Tech jobs, so be sure to have enough educated workers before plopping it Stats Size: 6x3 HT Jobs: 50 Water production: 200 Function: Water pump Menu: Water *this model is nightlighted -NO DEPENDENCIES- -

irst factory of the Almirall company, part of Gasol Corporation, it's the first lot of a next series of paper-related lots. This plant represents a major step in paper production, it takes the pulp from the tree crushing facilities and cooks it into a rotary furnace (into the short building), later mixing it to chemical products to change their properties to ideal ones, and redrives the pulp to the paper rolling mills. stats Cost: 3500$ Jobs: 130 Air Polution: 27 Water Pollution: 12 Water Consumption: 56 Size: 5x4 Menu: Landmarks And... because I want to: - NO DEPENDENCIES -- 26 Comments

I made this modd for a CJ some time ago, and I thought I share it with the community, it is a lava replacement texture + a basalt rock modd, it is intended to make more realistic volcano scenes. A big thanks to Psycho_Teddy for the testing and shots You can choose to have them both, or the lava and rock mods separated How to install it: The zip comes with 3 files: zzz_volcanic - installs both lava and rock textures zzz_volcaniclava -installs only the lava texture zz_volcanicbasalt - installs only the basalt texture -NO DEPENDENCIES-- 36 Comments

Done... Now I have more profile views than forum posts....
-
It's a bit depressing really, as it means that I no longer have enough time to partake in the community
-
What? You're a huge part of the community. You're often active in chat and all those profile views mean people look up to you. Just because you are not active on the forums does not mean you're part of the community.

Too late... Send me a private message if you want to ask me something, I don't check this section often enough for it to be useful as a way to communicate.

Well, first of all, that's an old BAT that I'm now releasing. This one belongs both to my chapapotex and my harbor series, don't worry, you can query it ;-P Stats: Menu: transportation, seaports Cost to plop: 2000 Monthly cost: 50 Size: 3x8 (the pier overhangs) Shipping company: Chapapotex (Gasol Corp.) The pier is an overhanging prop lodded, so the water bug won't appear As you should know, I don't like dependencies so: -NO dependencies-- 25 Comments

Poliomylitis is Alive and Deadly in the East
fukuda replied to A Nonny Moose's topic in Current Events
Polio really is a unique disease. Back in the old days of your parent's generation polio was an unnoticed harmless viral infection that was suddenly turned into a devastating disease. This was unknown back then, but polio virus is just an acid-resistant version of the common cold virus, able to go through the stomach and infecting the bowels. No biggie. But it only does so during early childhood. And that was the real problem. Back then, children would play outside in the dirt, live in not so hygienic conditions and get infected with polio virus when they were still quite young. This way the virus would just attack their bowels and our great-grandparents were immunized against it afterwards. But that situation was going to change. Way stricter hygienic measures were upheld all around the developed world, greatly diminishing the incidence of most childhood diseases and limiting the children's early contact with the virus at the same time. The really problematic thing is, polio virus changes its cellular targets in older people! It no longer targets bowel cells, now it targets motor neurons instead... killing them and causing paralysis in the process. Older people being already immunized to it, the disease seemed to mostly affect children and was obviosuly regarded as a new disease. It sadly caused many deaths and lots of kids had to live their entire lives inside an iron lung... The last kids afflicted by the disease circa 50 years ago are still living inside their iron lungs today.... The rise of polio motor symptoms in muslim countries (and China) reflects a positive trend towards development and sadly it also reflects a lack of vaccination. Polio can only be managed effectively if the causing process is well taken into account... The virus is there in non-developed countries, it's just hidden because there is not enough hygiene. But authorities didn't take this into account and thought it was unnecessary... There was no visible disease after all.. And that's when they didn't directly oppose it as in some african countries. Yes, polio vaccines are still administered to little children as oral drops in most developed countries. But vaccination efforts have been hindered by some anti-vaccine groups in the past, and there's still some resistance. -
They clearly weren't, the last time we camped in a place with bears (grizzlies actually) we were specifically told the rules to avoid luring hungry bears into our camp. In fact, the japanese guards would have never let us enter the national park without our acceptance of the rules. In our case there were small lockers around the park (we had a map with their locations) to put away all the food and objects having been in contact with any food, not doing so would pretty much guarantee a bear attack to the camp. Things become more complex in a place without lockers and with some irresponsible teens... Flawless logic. ? Usually rich people don't study science, in fact a lot of people in the sciences come from rather disadvantaged backgrounds. Some people like the wilerness, but such adventures require training and some experience beforehand...
