Description This is the model of a 2 MW onshore wind turbine based on an Enercon E-70 E4©. It has a rotor diameter of 70m and a hub height of 75m (for these specific models I made). The interesting fact is that Enercon was one of the first onshore WTG to use the direct drive technology, meaning there is a large diameter multi-pole ring generator that allows to cut out the gear box and therefor save cost on gearbox oil and maintenance. The typical drop form of the nacelle is created by surrounding this large diameter ring generator. Content This File contains two wind power plant lots appearing in your power plant menu, one for the producing turbine with 7 different rotor rotation angles, that change automatically when plopped. Another lot is fitted with a WTG idling or undergoing maintenance (3 different models also changing automatically at plopping). The production is set to 2000 and the O&M costs are 40$ per month. The stopped turbines have no power output. Description This is the model of a 1 MW onshore wind turbine based on an AN BONUS 54-1000. It has a rotor diameter of 54m and a hub height of 60m (for these specific models I made). With this turbine I wanted to contribute a smaller and older WTG that can more easily be integrated in your wide country sides than some of the other, rather large models I made. The control type of this turbine is active stall, which means the trailing edge of the rotor blades can be rotated into the wind and face forward if the wind is too strong and the turbine needs to be stopped. You are able to see it at the model that is under maintenance and has a locked rotor. Content This File contains two wind power plant lots appearing in your power plant menu, one for the producing turbine with 5 different rotor rotation angles that change automatically when plopped and one lot with a WTG that is undergoing maintenance. The production is set to 1000 and the O&M costs are 40$ per month. One turbine is undergoing maintenance and has no power output. This is the model of a 14 MW offshore wind turbine based on a General Electric (GE) Haliade-X©. It has a rotor diameter of 220 m and at a hub height of 153m (for these specific models I made). It is built on a monopile foundation for shallow coastal regions. The difference of this turbine compared to my other models is that it is a direct drive system. This means there is no gearbox transmitting the rotation to common generator rpms (1500rpm). Instead, there is a large diameter, multi pole, variable rpm generator that is driven directly by the rotor (7-15rpm). The converters and transformers are located in the nacelle. More info can be found here. Content This File contains four wind power plant lots with the same turbine type at different rotor positions. The production is set to 14,000 and the O&M costs are 500$ per month. One turbine is undergoing maintenance and has no power output and zero budget impact. This prop pack contains content for the land-based logistics of on- and offshore wind turbines. It focusses on tip repair of the leading edge of damaged blades. Even though modern wind turbines rotate at lower revolutions (12~15 rpm) the blade tips reach quite fast velocities due to the massive rotor diameters. Any small particle in the air like dust, fog or rain drops causes erosion to the blade tips. This constant fatigue or a more severe incident like a lightning strike can lead to damages that need repair. I modeled some repair scenes of blades that have been taken down and are sanded down for repair on the ground. Content This File contains the following 6 props: A_1P_Blade_repair A_1P_Blade_repair_worker A_1P_Blade_scaffolding A_1P_Blade_storage A_1P_Blade_store_clamp A_1P_Blade_store_clamp_2 Dependencies none Instructions This is a prop file! The content must be placed on your lot using a lot-editor! Unzip and place in (work-) plugin folder, place in plugin folder once used in a lot file, eg.: C:\Users\<USER>\Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins

This is the model of a 2 MW onshore wind turbine based on a Vestas V80©. It has a rotor diameter of 80m and at a hub height of 90m (for these specific models I made). The V80 has now been replaced by the V90 in the 2MW platform of Vestas’ fleet, but I decided to create this model, since it is so widely distributed. Vestas is one of the biggest manufacturers of wind turbines worldwide and has been in the wind industry for over 30 years. More info about this model can be found here and more info about the 2MW platform here. Content This File contains four wind power plant lots with the same turbine type at different rotor positions. The production is set to 2000 and the O&M costs are 90$ per month. Therefore, it is slightly less cost efficient than the newer V126 I published. This is a wind turbine installation vessel (WIV) used for heavy lift offshore operations such as wind turbine constructions. It has six giant jack mechanics that can lower the jacks to the seabed and lift the vessel out of the water to conduct lifting operations without movement. Therefor these ships are also called jack-up vessel (JUV). The vessel is equipped with several auxiliary cranes and one big 1,200t crane. (source: https://renews.biz/54240/swire-lands-hollandse-kust-turbine-bounty/) Usage in SC4 Due to the size and complexity if this model I could not export it as one building. The bow is the main building and the deck, jacks and other details are props. CONS: This means the props adapt to the elevation of the area they are plopped on and therefor sink to the ocean seabed when plopped on water. I was not able to fix this issue so unfortunately you will have to create a little island 2x7 and plop the vessel on it, afterwards you can lower the edges a little, so the ship appears to be fully in water. Save the game before in case you demolish it or mess it up, you can easily reload. PROS: On the other hand this means you are free to reassemble the lot as you desire and put other components or tools on deck to conduct offshore operations 😉 Content This File contains several props and 3 lots: • A_1P_WindTurbineInstallationVessel • A_1P_TransitionPiece • A_1P_MonoPile Dependencies • A_1P WindIndustry Port Pack-1.1 • A_1P_120_SimWorkers_1.1 (New fot WIV update 1.3) • A_1P SimWorkers_3 (New fot WIV update 1.3) • Recommended: SM2 Mega Prop Pack Vol1 A water ploppable lot with an installed monopile and transition piece are also included in the package to bring a few more construction phases to your windfarm project. These two components make the foundation of a wind turbine (there are others as well like tripod-jacks, etc...) and are usually installed in a campaign run before the turbine installation phase. Details and Comments This section is addressed to people with nautical and technical interest and holds no important information about the usage or functionality of the pack. Work Lighting Since the main deck and all the structures are individual props the work lighting could not be rendered on deck and it does not look too good. Apologies for that… Navigation Lighting and Signals I lit up the navigation lighting (Stbd, Port and top lantern) which would normally be lit up while being under ways and switched off when being stationary (jacked up) or docked in port. At the same time, I displayed three balls at hoist in the signal mast, which means the vessel is aground and not moving (like digging work vessels or jack up vessels). Aviation lights on the helo-deck and warning beacons on the jacks and crane boom top are in place. (this is lighting scenario is a bit contrary) Finally, I tried to light up the deck with working lights as much as possible, which would also be turned off while under ways. So there is not too much realism here, I just wanted to play around a bit and add some details. (more info on that can be found here) The bridge however remains dark, as any proper bridge does at night 😉 Load-out On deck you can see two rotor blade sets, two towers (consisting of base, mid and top section), two preassembled wind turbine nacelles and two hubs. These components are assembled on preinstalled transition pieces in the wind farm. Once completed the WIV either proceeds back to port to load components for the next turbines or receives them at sea by a supply barge.

This is an offshore wind turbine generator (WTG) as it is widely distributed in European offshore windfarms. It is inspired by the SIEMENS wind turbine 3.6MW with a rotor diameter of 120m known as SWT-3.6-120. source: windfair.net (14.01.2021) https://w3.windfair.net/wind-energy/pr/31349-deutsche-windtechnik-siemens-riffgat-offshore-wind-farm-turbine-ewe-maintenance-service-provider This File contains one wind power plant on a 1x1 lot (located in the power plant menu) with a production of 3600 and O&M costs of 125$. Below is some inspiration how to use it. Thanks to the simtropolis and sc4devotion community especially Simmer2 for lots of support, patience and advice during the creation of this lot.

Okay everyone I am trying it, here is the first content I created. These are port-lots with parts for offshore wind turbines awaiting shipping to the site. Here is some inspiration of what you can build with it (the blade factory in the left of the screenshot is created by Simmer2): This File contains several props and 9 lots: A_1P_SP_Dock_1x6_RotorBlades A_1P_SP_Dock_1x6-Hubs A_1P_SP_Dock_1x6-Nacelles A_1P_SP_Dock_1x6-TransitionPieces A_1P_SP_Dock_1x6-Towers & A_1P_SP_Dock_1x6-Towers2 A_1P_SP_Dock_1x6-WindIndustry_1x5-TransitionL A_1P_SP_Dock_1x6-WindIndustry_1x5-TransitionR A_1P_SP_Dock_1x6-WindIndustryFiller The lots are using the PEG CDK3 Sea Port Waterfront - Style. My next project might be a heavy lift terminal to load the components or a jackup vessel for turbine installation.
  13. SM2 Marine Wind Power

    Version 2.0.0

SM2 Marine Wind Power . You will find 2 lots in this pack 1) The Wind Turbine is to be plopped on water. 2) The buoy is to be plopped on water, from the Wind Turbine field to the shore. The buoy acts as a power transmission lot. It will light up at night if powered. Turn on your power grid and plop the buoys in a row. Watch the green power grid make the connection. Once satisfied, turn the power grid off. Each Wind Turbine will output 1800 units of power. By plopping a few of them you can enjoy unlimited green power!! I have created a specific Power Substation lot which can be found in my SM2 Power Pack. Plop it on shore for a seamless power grid. Questions? 16. Update 66: To Town (Kosona)

UPDATE 66 - WINDEMERE2.0 Well, like mentioned Windemere2.0 is now more of a side project for myself, but it is nonetheless still going. After about a month, I finally have another update! Today we are going to a small town known as Kosona. With a population of around 5000, it is a small quaint town. Dependent largely on its small industrial park, the town has been stagnant for many years. But the recent addition of a distribution centre for a large retailer may change things. Only time will tell... For now, let's just go see what's up in the town present-day. On with the show! 66.1 | Nestled just off the Mountain Parkway, Kosona certainly isn't huge. Like mentioned, it has a population of about 5000. The recent addition of a distribution centre for a large retailer has led to some construction in the residential neighbourhoods. *Click for full resolution! 66.2 | The centre of town isn't extremely impressive, but is certainly a fair size given the town's population. *Click for full resolution! 66.3 | Here is the previously mentioned industrial park. It has grown slowly since the town's founding. *Click for full resolution! 66.4 | This area of town is affectionately known as "Pond Dip." This is thanks to the dip in the road and the obvious ponds. The town recently completed a cement pathway around the largest pond, making it a great place to go for an afternoon walk. *Click for full resolution! 66.4 | Of course, what would an update be without a close-up of a giant wind turbine? *Click for full resolution! That's it for today's update. Feel free to comment below!
