This game is one with VERY high replay value. Sure, there might be times where you might get bored with it or just not have motivation to play, but it is always something you can come back to and enjoy once again.

Show us your Overview of your City/Town
Compdude787 replied to 9gruntsand1hammer's topic in SC4 Showcase
@9gruntsand1hammer: your pictures are showing up just fine for me. -
Doesn't seem that ugly, but elevating rail to get rid of at grade crossings is always a good idea.

What an interesting and unique interchange design! I like the parking lot and recycling center that is included therein.

Great start! I'm looking forward to seeing how your cities develop.

Nice pictures! I really like the Space Needle because I happen to live near Seattle. Next time please write in English since this is an English language forum. Use Google Translate if you need to. Thanks!

If you ever want to do an RHW-8 or RHW-10 bridge, you need to use the Maxis highway tool to drag out a bridge in each direction. With any bridge where traffic is one-way, you have to drag the bridge in the direction that you want traffic to travel in.

Thanks @APSMS! As for having only 2.24 GB of plugins, that's possible by the fact that I haven't downloaded any airport and seaport lots.

SimCity 4 not working Windows 8.1
Compdude787 replied to kostya67's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Agreed 100%. It's amazing how many questions we've gotten about not being able to play SC4 because of that Windoze Update being installed. Personally, I have all my updates on manual install, (which means I haven't installed updates to my computer in a while. Yeah, like I care that much...) so I just never installed the offending update and hid it from the update menu. -
Yeah, frankly the whole frontage roads thing would be a good thing to implement.

City tile missing from Region View
Compdude787 replied to TrickyMario76543's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Yeah, you just use the WhereRUFrom cheat and then type the new name in. You put it in quotes if the new name is to have a space in it. -

Nice maps!!! I'm amazed that that region only has one freeway. -
SimCity 4 not working Windows 8.1
Compdude787 replied to kostya67's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Okay, I see. -
Getting rolling blackouts is a clear indication that your city does not have enough power. Check the Power graph and see if the power usage exceeds capacity. If so, build more power plants or buy more power from a neighboring city. I understand if you might have checked this already, and I'm sorry if I'm stating the obvious but I really can't think of anything else that would be causing this problem.

SimCity 4 not working Windows 8.1
Compdude787 replied to kostya67's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Usually No-CD patches are not legal, if I'm not mistaken. A moderator can correct me if I'm wrong, but discussion or promotion of such things is discouraged on this forum. -
You're going to have to get rid of the TuLEPs under the RHW. Sorry. If you still want turning lanes at your intersections, you can click with the one-way road tool on the intersection and you'll get auto turning lanes.

Yeah, you currently cannot have TuLEPs underneath RHW. So, unfortunately, you'll have to go without them in that location. And if you want a slope mod, a good one to use is the Ennedi Slope Mod. It comes with three versions that you can use in different areas if you want a certain restrictiveness on your slopes.

Hello, everyone, and welcome back to Simerica. It has been a while, hasn't it? I got a new monitor with a 1600x900 screen resolution, so now pictures are no longer a mere 1366x768. Well, let's get the replies in: Replies: Haha, I know, right? Thanks! Thanks, I wouldn't want to get lost either. Luckily every Sim's car is equipped with GPS devices, so they are never lost. Certainly! It probably took me just about eight hours to make the whole interchange. And yes, I really like the way it's shaped and how all the lanes branch off in Image 10-6, too. Thanks! I've been playing this game since ~2005 and I've been drawing road maps of fictional cities on paper for as long as I can remember. I've always been into maps and designing my own cities and making cool freeway interchanges. I've got a lot of them designed on paper. Thanks! Thanks! Really, before NAM 33 it would have been impossible to build this interchange in this form. I probably could have done it, but the disconnector piece in NAM 33 has made building RHW interchanges much easier, and way less frustrating. So, now.... Update 11: New farms, new skyscrapers A few rumors have been flying around in the Lamont region about some changes that the so-called SimGod (that's me!) made to his plugins folder. Being an honest god, the SimGod would like to confirm that these rumors are indeed true. One rumor that has been flying around has to do with the recent commercial building boom taking place region-wide. This is epitomized by the construction of the Tiberian Thanefirst Tower in downtown Twin Forks: 11.1 11.2 Also, another rumor that's been spreading is that all the SPAM farms suddenly disappeared one night and were replaced with Simgoober's farms because the SimGod didn't like how unrealistically tall the corn and wheat crops were. This is partially true, but the real reason to this is that the SPAM was not compatible with the CAM. Oh, and Simgoober's farms look a lot nicer, especially the tulip fields. Here is an overview of the town of Farmville before and after the change, showing how these new farms look compared to the old ones: 11.3 - Before: 11.4 - After: I-5 running through the farmlands in Farmville: 11.5 And just south in the town of Sleepy Hollow, you see these beautiful tulip fields while driving on I-5 during the right time of year: (well, kind of. The SimGod is a bit obsessed with covering every square inch of vacant land with trees ) 11.6 As a result of this proclamation from the almighty SimGod, it is hoped that many Sims will come to believe in the SimGod's existence because, as his followers say, it's completely logical that these changes couldn't possibly have happened on their own without his influence. A massive decrease in the amount of atheist sims in Simerica is predicted. Oh, and last but not least, here's a plan that outlines future development of Lamont's freeway and railway network: 11.7 I'm going to try to get back to doing videos, too. Stay tuned!

What I do for organizing my plugins is to organize them in folders based on the in-game menus. I also have a folder just for the NAM, as well as one for the CAM, all mods go in another folder, I have another folder for just dependencies, and one for anything that should load after the NAM. Here's what the root level of my plugins folder looks like: Looks pretty neat and clean, huh? There's a lot of stuff inside those folders. It's always a good idea to keep your plugins folder organized, especially if you have 2.24 GB of plugins, like me.

I'm having some problems with two of your lots, the 70's-era Safeway and the Target SuperMega Center. The 70's Safeway abandons soon after plopping; this has also been reported by several other people in the comment section on its download page on the STEX: The query makes me wonder if it has something to with the fact that it has zero jobs. Who knows? Also, I am having a problem with the Target SuperMega Center where I am getting a brown box when I plop the lot that goes on the right side: Yes, I do have the required SG Super Center dependency installed in my plugins, so I am totally baffled as to why I'm still getting a brown box. Is there something else I'm missing? Thanks!

Your plan is quite ambitious! I'm really looking forward to seeing what your turnpike looks like. Hopefully you can post pics of it in development. BTW, your region does not in any way need to be "finished" before you show off pictures. You can always show little bits that have been finished. In fact, I started my current region, Lamont, a little over two years ago and it is still far from being finished. Yet I have had a CJ going for a year and a half (see link in my signature) and have showed off lots of pics of stuff I've completed. Seriously, if you wait till the entire region is complete before showing off pictures, we'll be waiting two-plus years for your pictures.
