35 degrees is the maximum gradient for roads and bridges, so if you draw a road towards the top of a steep hill, it would either have to carve into it or make a bridge -- or not allow you to draw it -- based on how long your drag is. I seriously can't wait until you guys can see the bridges and overpasses, they're totally fun to play with. Sounds great!

@Ganaram Inukshuk @jdenm8 @Mandelsoft That's not what I meant. I understand that a "real" functional double stacked highway is impossible. I also understand that just modeling alone would be a nightmare. I'm just wondering if it is possible, in theory only, to "fake it". Something that is exactly like the AVE-6, same intersections, same exact "path" when "Draw Paths" is turned on. Only difference is the median (the space in between) is a T21 mod with a nonfunctional, "just for looks" overpass on top of it.

^^^ Hypothetically, what if the double stacked highway functioned like regular NWM? If you used the "Draw Paths" command for example, it would be like any other NWM but the upper/lower parts would be "just for show". Just ignore the time it would take to model and all the instance IDs that would be hell to replace, is it possible in theory?

Don't add the Colossus Addon Mod right away. It changes the game's supply demand dynamics and adds new growth stages among other things. We are not even sure if the OP even has Rush Hour or if his simcity4.exe is up to date (1.1.640) which you need before downloading anything to your Plugins folder.

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Pope Benedict's former butler, Paolo Gabriele, goes on trial on Saturday in one of the most embarrassing episodes in recent Vatican history. The trial of the 46-year-old man who served the pope his meals and helped him dress is due to start at 9:30 a.m. (0730 GMT) in the Vatican's little-used tribunal, a small room with rich panelled wood and a papal emblem on its ceiling. His arrest on May 23 caused an international furore after police found confidential documents in his apartment inside the Vatican, a dramatic twist that threw the global media spotlight on an institution battling to defend its reputation from allegations of graft. A three-judge panel will decide the fate of Gabriele, whom the pope used to call "Paoletto" (little Paul) and who is now described in Vatican documents as "the defendant". Gabriele stands accused of stealing the pontiff's personal papers and leaking them to the media in what he says was an attempt to clean up corruption at the headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church. According to an indictment last August, Gabriele told investigators he had acted because he saw "evil and corruption everywhere in the Church" and wanted to help root it out "because the pope was not sufficiently informed". The documents pointed to a power struggle at the Church's highest levels. Gabriele, who said he saw himself as a whistle-blowing "agent of the Holy Spirit", is widely expected to be convicted on charges of aggravated theft because he has confessed. The trial procedures will be based on a 19th century Italian penal code and could result in a prison sentence of up to four years for Gabriele and one year for Claudio Sciarpelletti, a computer expert charged with aiding and abetting him. CORRUPTION ALLEGATIONS It is not clear how long the trial might last. Gabriele, a father of three who lived a simple but comfortable life in the city-state, told investigators after his arrest in May that he believed a shock "could be a healthy thing to bring the Church back on the right track". His arrest capped nearly five months of intrigue and suspense after a string of documents and private letters found their way into the Italian media. The most notorious of the letters were written to the pope by Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, currently the Vatican's ambassador to Washington, who was deputy governor of Vatican City at the time. In one, Vigano complains that when he took office in 2009, he discovered corruption, nepotism and cronyism linked to the awarding of contracts to outside companies at inflated prices. Vigano later wrote to the pope about a smear campaign against him by other Vatican officials who were upset that he had taken drastic steps to clean up the purchasing procedures. Despite begging not to be moved away from the Vatican, Vigano was later transferred to Washington by Secretary of State Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone. Thanks for that excellent explanation. I suggest not adding any new networks to the NWM. It's now just a matter of filling in all the missing pieces and crossings. Is it possible to get rid of the transition pieces and just use the technique here for ALL transitions? Might free up some space.

And with that regard, I would agree. The only caveat is that it's impossible to account for every possible RL setup, but I believe we can get close. There are a few interchanges along Interstate 10 (In California, east of the Cabazon/Banning area and down into the Palm Springs area) that are being retrofitted from diamonds to parclo interchanges, and there are a number of ramps right now that can achieve replicating those exact interchanges. Some of them would need to be rotated so it's completely orthogonal, and there's also a height discrepancy, but that's beside the point. Then there's the T-bone interchange right in the middle of the forest of wind turbines that I did try replicating one time, but even with current RHW items, I don't think I can even come close to achieving that. ----- Don't forget this, either: Not only will it be possible to build even more wild interchanges, but the process of building them will be even more streamlined: We're getting rid of a bunch of puzzle pieces (mainly ramps) and replacing them with Flex-based versions, so that instead of having 200-300 different ramp interfaces in one tab ring, you'll only need about less than ten that can override to conform to every RHW network there is. That's REALLY great news! I want to see how the NAM team will do that! Question: But if you are going to get rid of puzzle pieces for the new RHW, do we need to delete all ramps first before installing?

Verdict due in Pope Benedict XVI's butler trial By Dario Thuburn | AFP News – 3 hours ago The biggest trial in modern Vatican history wraps up on Saturday with a verdict for Pope Benedict XVI's ex-butler over leaks of secret papers that revealed fraud scandals and intrigue. Paolo Gabriele is accused of stealing hundreds of sensitive Vatican documents from the pope's palace including letters from cardinals and politicians and papers the pope himself had marked "To Be Destroyed". Gabriele claims he was a whistleblower who wanted to root out "evil and corruption" at the heart of the Catholic Church after observing that the 85-year-old pontiff was not well informed and perhaps even "manipulated". Using the codename "Maria", Gabriele allegedly met with an Italian journalist over several months and passed him the confidential documents. He has admitted responsibility for the leaks and says that his act was a reflection of the "widespread unease" in the world's smallest state. Vatican gendarmes said their search of Gabriele's home in the Vatican had revealed more than 1,000 sensitive papal papers as well as a huge amount of printed material about freemasonry, spying techniques and Vatican finances. Gabriele has alleged he was mistreated by the gendarmes when he was held for 53 days in two "security rooms" at the Vatican, complaining that the lights were kept on for 24 hours a day for the first three weeks of his detention. The father of three is now under house arrest at his home in the Holy See. Ahead of the verdict, the prosecution and the defence are expected to present final arguments on Saturday in what will be the fourth and last hearing of an expeditious trial that has remained relatively limited in scope. Gabriele will also have the chance to make a final statement to the court. The former butler was repeatedly interrupted by the presiding judge -- one of three who will deliver the verdict -- when he took the stand on Tuesday before he could fully explain his motivations or his network of sources. The court also threw out a request from the defence to include in the trial a secret report compiled by a committee of cardinals who interviewed dozens of people in the Vatican in a parallel inquiry into the "Vatileaks" case. Gabriele did say, however, he had "many contacts" including two cardinals, a bishop and the former housekeeper of the pope who had confided in him. But he distanced himself from comments he made during his interrogation in which he appeared to say that these people had "influenced" him. He faces a sentence of up to four years in prison because the loyalty that his position carried -- a unique role that made him one of the lay people who was closest to the pope -- is seen by prosecutors as an aggravating factor. The 46-year-old Gabriele has said he is "innocent" of the charge of theft but feels "guilty" of betraying the trust the pope had placed in him and he has written a personal letter to Benedict XVI asking for his forgiveness. Even if Gabriele is convicted, legal experts say he is unlikely to be sent to prison straight away until an appeals court upholds the conviction. The Vatican also has no jail and he would have to be transferred to an Italian prison under a diplomatic agreement between the two states. Many experts say it is unlikely to come to that and he will likely receive a pardon from the pope, who has been following the case closely. Gianluigi Nuzzi, the Italian journalist to whom Gabriele has admitted passing the documents, called the butler "courageous" and said he wants an inquiry into the allegations in the papers and not into how they were leaked. The documents published in Nuzzi's book "His Holiness: The Secret Papers of Benedict XVI" contained allegations of fraud in the running of the city state and cloak-and-dagger intrigue among the pope's closest collaborators. Many of the documents contain barbs against the Vatican's powerful Secretary of State Tarcisio Bertone, a divisive figure who has expanded his powers since being appointed by the pope in 2006 and is challenged by some leading prelates. The trial is taking place in a courtroom decorated with a portrait of the pope and Vatican insignia in a part of the Holy See that is strictly off limits to the millions of tourists and pilgrims who visit St Peter's every year. The Vatican's criminal law dates back to the 19th century and the pope holds wide powers including the right to dismiss a case before it goes to trial. The fact that the pope has not done so and that journalists have been allowed into the courtroom shows a desire for transparency, some experts say. The trial has also offered a rare glimpse into the daily life of the "pontifical family" made up of the pope's secretaries and domestic staff.
