  1. No dissident as such, but I'm pretty well pissed off at Google since they were my US go-to for virtually all my money related matters and they have the cojones to think they'll ever win an argument with the people in charge over here. China's approach to their thing is banning swathes of IP addresses, and if you're an innocent bystander, you're SOL. Simtropolis probably shares enough of an IP with something that it's on the list. SimPeg was like that. But anyway: I have all those dependencies installed, so I guess I'll need to learn how to use DataNode to see what the heck is going on. Well maybe first I'll do another reinstall just to be sure, since that's probably going to be less time consuming and hopefully the latest downloads aren't somehow corrupted. Again. Honestly I kind of feel like by the time I get my game back up and where I want it, I'll be back in the US and be able to just copy over my backup SC4 plugins folders. This throttled internet speed is just killing me. Frankly I was a bit better off with nothing. (Truly I didn't miss it until I needed to pay some bills; otherwise not having a mobile phone or internet connection has been liberating.)
  2. I'm a fan of Blunder's Cascadia Tree Controller. It was working just fine before I uninstalled SC4. Now that I've come back and tried to reinstall everything (and yes I do have all the dependencies installed) I'm missing two specific props: "transition Aspen High" and "transition Aspen Low". Now, I have no idea which if any of those dependency packs were supposed to have those props, but once I hit the magic elevation, those two—and only those two—tree types just won't appear and I get the missing prop box. Well technically a funny multicolored thing that the Opps/Oops mod puts up instead of boxes. I've installed and reinstalled everything on the tree controller dependencies list, but I'm just stumped by this. At the least if anyone knows which dependencies contain those two particular tree models, I'd have a place to start looking for the problem. If anyone can help me out, I'd really appreciate it. P.S., I'm in China and have to use a (very slow) VPN to do much of anything online, so I'm not really at liberty to provide and pictures, though to be honest all you'd see is a box with the pointer hovering over it listing one of the aforementioned aspen types.
  3. Cascadia Tree Controller

Before I had to reinstall SC4 everything worked wonderfully. Now despite being 110% sure I've got all the dependencies listed in the description, I'm getting missing props for "transition Aspen High" and "transition Aspen Low" in every new region and new city I try to start. I've absolutely no idea which prop pack(s) I need to get my hands on to resolve that. Otherwise it's been a beautiful results tree controller and edged out the PNW handily for my favorite.
  4. That's a strange problem, Couger2004. The only thing I can offer is that I use NAM, the bridge height mod, and a virtual crapton of other mods, but I still manage to get good use of ferries (well completed trips according to the routing tool anyway) when I build them using minimal heights (about 30-50m above "sea level". How wide is your river? Did you install anything in your plugins folder recently? Do you have some kind of custom bridge for rail installed? One last thought, is the traffic that was formerly using the ferries now using the new bridge instead? NAM has a traffic simulator that does a much better job of pathfinding than the standard Maxi pathfinding, and generally goes by what is the shortest commute time rather than distance. Otherwise I got nothin'.
  5. HH Modular Parking Gray (Version 2)

Really like the modular parking series, but the handicapped parking spaces sometimes end up being weirdly placed.
  6. Pacific Northwest Tree Controller

Started using this tree controller with my latest region.  I love it.  You even got me to make an exception to my "no more damn plug-ins and dependencies" rule.  I'm a sucker for terrain mods and tree controllers. :P  No crashes for me when laying down trees (though I haven't tried to use it with established cities in any way; I have the god mode tools in mayor mode plug-in).   Definitely 5/5 from me.
  7. Sim City 4 Lagging

Tungston, what vid card are you using? I have an ATI HD 3650, and it hates hardware rendering. I can get SC4 to run in software rendering, but like the OP I'd rather have hardware rendering. Also running Vista, like yourself, with DX10. Man I miss my old comp....
  8. Gandelenia

I don't usually download maps 'cause I like to make 'em myself, but I really really like what I see, even if it's a bit larger than what I usually play on. Can't wait to try it out.
