Can I interest you in a train mod I have on the exchange; which gives me the opportunity to shamelessly promote myself? It's based on the real world Chicago line called Metra, but the logo can be changed or erased if you need.

Your stuff is *plane* amazing, dude! :D

I really appreciate the praise! I have a few projects waiting in the wings, one of which will be posted soon! And be sure to drop by my hanger (the link to it is in my signature) if you would like new updates on the stuff I am making.

Windows 8.1 is king.

>>>BATs/LODs spontaneously glitching and disappearing, which varies on zoom, where different bldgs glitch and go.

Roads will occasionally go out the door as well.

(Btw, are there any work arounds for this?)

Short answer: software rendering will probably solve your problem. Your shadows won't look as nice, though :(

I'm not resorting to that since graphically, everything will suck (I rely on graphics when it comes to CJing). Although I remember trying it out, and it still turned out like this :P

I've used that too, but it causes crashing when HD prop files are present. I can't really give that up since I use HD prop content intensively in CJing. :(

KonstantinII's link contains the only solutions, you gotta either have a video card and set up simcity to use it, or use software rendering. It's sad but true. I got the same problem and ended up going the software render route.

I tried pretty much everything, to no avail.

You  must be remembering wrong, for as far as I know, the only way to fix it without buying a graphics card is setting d:software in shortcut parameters. If that doesnt work for you I don't know what will :P

Also, graphics arent THAT bad with software, although maybe I'm just used to them sucking:P

A strange thing that happened to me,Dunno why but its crazy

That used to happen to me too. It's what happens when you minimize the game and switch to another program, for some reason it accumulates clouds.

Tsk, tsk. Always those people who don't read descriptions thoroughly. :P Good research there, however, hotwheeler. :thumb:

Not sure what's up here, but it seems my traffic advisor unallowingly introduced a zig-zag-on-the-freeway ordinance, which I may have to fire him for.

The rail merge that turns trains into pedestrians, and the underpass that turns cars into busses.  Something was really weird in this area, bulldozing it caused crashes.  had to delete tile by tile and leave the one grassy tile that when deleted caused crashed.  Even so, replacing the station with a new one broke all transit in the city.  Had to replace every rail and GLR station to make the networks function again.  Stations were still there, but no traffic would go between them.  On every station the entire tile.

I hope it doesn't have to be a glitch in order to be odd. It should be enough with a guy who's just taken enough crap to think this is okay.

Do you think a relative of his maybe the owner of this particular building?

I thought about this, and am still thinking about it because though I've thought about this, I still have more thinking to do as to stop thinking about it would mean not to think.

Not sure what is going on here. I demolished the road but the textures under it won't go away and I can't demolish them. This is the first time I've seen this happen.

Could it be that you added the IRM to an existing city with industrial areas? If so, the problem will be related to the industrial building in the picture. You'll have to bulldoze/de-zone and let something new grow to get rid of the glitch. If you look closely, you can see that the new IRM lot extends beyond the boundaries of the Maxis lot it replaces. It occupies a 4x3 area in front of the building, overlapping the two little houses and that part of the street.

This is why I explicitly added the corresponding warning to the IRM description and recommended to either add it to new (undeveloped) cities only, or to bulldoze everything before letting IRM lots grow.

The good news is that I am yet to see a case where it was impossible to fix the problem. I've reproduced it several times in my test cities, and a combination of de-zoning and placing single street tiles over all affected squares and bulldozing/de-zoning it all in one go always did the trick and restored the area back to normal.

I'm not sure if this counts as an oddity but it was the first time I remember seeing it happen. A wall of clouds like a storm front passing through my region.
