Bug bug (perpetual locust disaster)

Hey all, I'm encountering an odd glitch in SC3KU where it seems like the locust disaster never ends. I have a farm-based city, and in my current saves, a locust disaster starts immediately after the simulation is unpaused. I've tried turning off disasters in the city options, saving and reloading after doing so, restarting the game, and trying many times to let the disaster play out. When I let it play out, it never ends even though the swarms of locusts no longer appear onscreen. Clicking "go to disaster" or the red ticker entries causes the view to center on the middle of the city where nothing is happening. Anyone know how to get out of this, or is my save file just corrupted? Thank you!

All I can offer is condolences and a: Yikes! :uhm:

Eons ago I played a million hours of 3000, but I always started with disasters turned off from day one. *

I'll follow along and hope someone has a better post for you.

Yes am the same, thru for some reason I usually have disasters turned on in Banished

Went and checked link below to see what it said for locust disasters and if you don't want to delete your city it might be worth adding in crop dusters to see if that works

Plague of Locusts

This disaster only happens when you have farms. They will eat all the vegetation, including trees. Dispatch the crop dusters to the farms in which they are heading. Don't spray the poison
on the locusts themselves, but on the crops so you can poison them.

Yes, this is how I had been dealing with the locusts to this point, but that is normal game function. The disaster-state persists regardless of whether all the individual swarms disperse by crop duster or by timing out. I think what I'm experiencing is a glitch involving a stuck status or switch in the game files or save.

    Automated Notice Message

All posts after 1 March, 2026 @ 01:37 GMT were lost in the site crash.

We've added this message thread divider in every topic across all forums for what were then active threads. (We decided active is if the most recent extant post (from the backup) was on or after 1 January, 2026.)

This divider serves as notice that the conversation was interrupted. Answers and further discussion which used to be here have been lost. Keep this in mind when replying. Our hope is to rebuild what is missing.
