Modified one of the NBVC marina lots but am having trouble getting it to work like the other ones do.  Anyone know how to get this to work on the slope between the water and the land?

Thanks!

Yes. If you have modified this lot in LE, you may have inadvertently removed the LotConfigPropertyWaterCompatibility property (LE can't save it). Please see this post about it:

Yo, guy --

I have used a lot of NBVC marina lots and have modified a great many of them.  The NBVC lots are ridiculously easy to work with.

I think the distance between the end of the road and the place you want to plop the lot is too narrow.  Bring the land mass beside the road OUT one more tile into the water.  (OR -- move the road inland one more tile.)  You may have to change the shape of the basin area to make this work, but it is a matter of adjusting the land form to fit the lot.  The diagonal bank on the right will, more than likely, have to be brought out into the water one more tile to fit the lot placement as well.

The more I look at the picture -- try moving the diagonal land out one tile -- first.  It doesn't look like the right end of the curved lot actually sits on any land.  That could very well be the problem.

I could be wrong -- but give it a try and see if that doesn't work for you.

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

Hiya @davide1983it

i don't have Sketchup, and sorry that i couldn't open your files with gmax, *(everytime my gmax was frozen to no response) so i could only load them with 3ds max, which means i couldn't render gmax's nightscene, Anyway, here is the result:

DGBjqvi.jpg

I have a personal suggestion that make Windows to one piece of mesh or poly, then there will be a box consists of four planes, it would be easy to modify the textures with Photoshop or other image editors and reducing burden of rendering, you just need to mix the texture with some proper pics (i randomly googled a bird's-eye picture* ) to make it act as a reflection, in terms of the night Windows, i modified it with the same method, they come from some resources which @mattb325 shared to me before, Besides, some articles from @Jasoncw's post would be pretty good references, IMO.*:D

i believe you can make more beautiful effect even if with Gmax or Sketchup, since most of works for me are just Photoshop and looking for good pics from web.* Just tell me whatever i can to help this, Looking forward your great BATs.*:thumb:

Sincerely,

-- Raymond (really feel quite nervous to do this, we have so many great experts in this thread.*:blush:Apologize! )

-- Edit --

Treasure from @mattb325:}

This looks great.  Would you be able to tell me where to download those red and blue matching w2w houses?  Thanks!

I need to learn how to use sc4terraformer to export this map to sc4.

export_kap.png

The trouble with your shot is that it's on a bias, and must be straightened and squared up before it can go into the Terraformer, which will transfer it back to the biased state.

Project3.jpg.dd2bca3c681be57b22766a527e46466d.jpg

Straightening it out will distort the original image, and you'll have to recreate areas via cloning. But, it is the moon, after all, so how accurate do you have to be.

Project5.png.7db6e3755c51e57314836937e00f4b75.png

A grayscale would have to be made, sized to what you want(you could use the one pictured above). You might want to run it through the Terraformer a few times to get the height you want without getting any water on the map. The grayscale can do this too by altering it's midtones. Remember black is water and white is monstrous high mountains. FYI there are flat lunar maps out there, if you're not satisfied with the results. Of course, you must put the grayscale through SC4Mapper before it goes to Terraformer.
