Building a new neighborhood ...

Your prop choice and placement are so good I know you have seen a construction site in person more than once. I'm curious to see them in PIM-X layout. I have a larger de-construction site on my list of lots to work on in the future.

I changed the vents in the side wall to get a more crisp look out of them but now I might have made them too big?

They are not too big actually some tunnels have vents that are basically the size of the wall but the screening material makes it look like a wall so most people don't even notice them. I do think though there are too many on your layout. I think it might look better with just maybe only two vents at the start of those long walls. I'm really liking the look of these pieces, great choice in texture and style, they look sharp.

I wish I had oppie's and citynut's canal files too, but I only have SG's and Cal's.

Looks good, how big is it 1x3 1x2? May I suggest releasing it on a 1x1 without a base as well so it can be plopped on whichever canal or mmp water the player uses

I thought about this, and am still thinking about it because though I've thought about this, I still have more thinking to do as to stop thinking about it would mean not to think.

I actually agree about the number of vents, 2 would be ideal.  The issue however is that since it's baked into the lot foundation texture, which IS the wall, it just repeats the texture and to avoid that you'd need to break up the lot into multiple pieces to apply a lot foundation texture with no vent.  The really long walls ( -> 4 tiles) will not have them.  I always find it easier to build these particular lots, what I call 'TunnelTops', as a single piece so you can texture and prop it all together (and you avoid unsightly seems!!).  Soooooo much easier...

Thanks for the compliment also!

Nice work! @Honolulu

Which street tree mod and which trees are those you're using in that part of the picture?

No mod....This is just lotting done with Girafe's parking bays and plane trees. And CP's street planters of course.

Hope this help.

ahh ok! thanks for the info. @Honolulu

One of my dreams is to make a mod based on Andreas Roth's BSC SFBT Street Tree Mod replacing its props with the Girafe's urban pack vol 1 and some of Girafe's trees. The reason is that I find the first one is using low quality props that can be replaced with the Girafe's which looks and fit better to me. In that picture you posted, I've could see how it would look. @Krisman is also showing in his works a good idea of how it would look (but i think what he post are a lots and not a street tree mod).

Krisman (amazing) work is all Lot Editor too - just look at the cars on the roads - they're Giraffe car props, not automatas

Anyway, i'm not sure if it were 11241036 or hughes aroux or even someone else but i remember seeing someone doing a WIP of a updated streetside mod like the SFBT one here on simtropolis - unfortunately the search engine didn't help me to find who it was. If you find that same post, you should reach that person and talk about a collab, offer help, ask for it, i don't know. Also, you could try to learn how to do T21 edit. It's not the easiest thing when you begin but after a while it's not that hard, only boring lol

What is good when you have nothing to say is that you can always pretend to listen. Anyway it does not prevent to think!

Indeed, same as @Honolulu ... mine is all lotted as well. And it is one of the reasons why I lot a lot ;-), to get a more realistic look of the city streets.

I believe that was me, see link below. I'm currently working on it, most likely, I will replace Maxis' cars by Girafe's cars. If you and @ohdude are really interested in this, please make sure to read the full post, as this mod will have some drawbacks.

How to master hills in SimCity 4! I plan to construct out the highway with an interchange at the corner of the elevated terrain and then continue the suburb backward with different developments (different apartment blocks). For now though. I am happy to see this terracing method works really well aesthetically with a realistic road gradient and the retaining walls being a feature in themselves, along with the slope showcasing the apartment blocks fully. For the corner lots I have located a premium 'landmark' development.

So I did a thing and I'm not sure how would be the best way to share it or even if anyone would make use of it or want it. I saved a version of all IRM fillers with a revised plop cost creating a sorting order in the in game menu. For All fillers including Twrecks, KOSC, and PHIL. However this set has also been made seasonal so any lot that had grass or dirt and shrubs now has girafe seasonal flora. All other dependencies are the same, user would need to delete the original lot files and replace with this version, any plopped would need to be bulldozed.. The cost change however would make this unreasonable for anyone not using the moolah cheat I would think.

This intermingling of industrial and residential looks fantastic! I've tried my hand at it, but yours is better...

That’s high praise, thank you.

Yeah, this is probably my favorite area so far. I never messed with W2W layouts before, but now I can’t get enough of it

Had some time today to tinker around with PIM-X. It's a relot of a church by @mattb325. Think it needs a bit more detailing. Maybe some small overlays on the grass or flowers?

Hmm some dirt/leaves overlay may be interesting! Looking good already, but if you find some "brownish" overlay texture to "break" the green specially in/near the gravestone would be a nice touch

Lovely collection of monuments! Have you ever come across a statue of Britannia?
