A new piece by satoshishi has just been uploaded.

This post has been approved in advance. He does not have a simtropolis account. (He plans to make one.)
Until he has an account, I'd like to show you his great BAT here.
Out of respect for his copyright, I'll post a link to his GoogleDrive here, not my files

Yokohama Landmark Tower is located in Yokohama City.

This skyscraper with a height of about 296 meters and 70 stories was built in 1993.

And for 21 years until 2014, it was the tallest skyscraper in Japan.

Towering over the Yokohama Bay Area, this skyscraper is a Yokohama landmark, and visitors to the area will be dazzled by its grandeur.
(If you've ever been to Yokohama, you may have seen it.)

There are growable (CO/CS) and LM (CS) versions.

298m (actual 296m) / 70F
CO$$ / CS$$ 5621 people
Lot size 6x6

There are no dependencies.
Just drop the downloaded folder into the plugin folder.

Thanks @reg!
I'm following his twitter, I just downloaded yesterday, I think, this building. He has nice projects with nice buildings in the line. Nice to see new BAT makers from that part of the globe, that's why I brought his work up here at the first place.

You're welcome.
He's a great achievement in a world where SimCity 4 is becoming less and less popular in Japan and where the number of famous BAT craftsmen is slowly dwindling.
He seems to have a lot of BATs that aren't up yet. (Apparently he has a lot of texture fixes to do.)
We will continue to introduce his amazing BAT here.

I have too much content ready to export (1.247 files), where do you think I should start?

I have to think of a way to organize my content because I don't want to create thousands of dependencies.

Looks like my lot is all ready to go, save one last thing, it has a few prop dependencies but I have no idea what sets they are from, what can I do about this?

Are you using PIM-X or the regular lot editor? If you are using PIM-X, when you create your lot there should be a right click option to list your dependencies:

Otherwise, I'm not sure if there is such an option in the regular lot editor. I usually try to only keep a few prop/texture packs in my plugins folder at once so it's easier to sort out which ones I've used.

By the way, the model looks nice!

@Simmer2 I know how to make a landmark that floats on water, but I don't know how to make it ploppable in water and on land.

Please see this post I wrote earlier in this thread:

@mattb325 Well that's one less on my list of BATs I plan to make.  *:D Nice start, always loved that Simfox building.

I have made a start on another of Simfox's rejects: Daiwa House, the former JR Freight Building in Tokyo

Zqg44H9.png

Heaps and heaps to do on this one, but I thought I'd show the progress as I was recently asked if I would bat a version of it (and I had already started)

Tokyo's amazing modern skyscrapers!
We are eagerly awaiting its completion.

This building served as the headquarters of JR Freight (Japan Freight Railway Co., Ltd.) until 2011.

but I think it looks unrealistic

@Barroco Hispano i've never asked myself how the lights on a boat might look like but yours look very satisfying for the eyes in any case (i simply guess that in the middle of the sea it's not probable that the lights would be on full time ? i really don't know, but don't boats have colored sidelights, red or green, when it's cruising ?... what you've done looks like what you would expect in a port when people are working on it at night probably ?...)

@Barroco Hispano

You made a good start --

But for game purposes, you need more light.  Krasner is pretty much correct.

You do need a green light on the right side of the bow and a red light on the left side of the bow and a duplicate set on the stern.  These are directional lights so that an approaching vessel will be able to determine exactly WHERE your ship is and what DIRECTION you are going.  They should be mounted up off the deck to be visible and near enough to the bow and stern to know that very little of the ship extends in front of or in back of the lights.  You should also put a green light at the top of the foremast of the ship and a red one atop of the after mast.  Those are called "running lights".  (You could also put them on either side of the "bridge wings".

As for the ship -- you need a string of "bridge lights" inside the windows of the wheelhouse.  That's where they steer the ship and stand watches.

Several smaller lights should be sprinkled anywhere you have cabins or visible portholes.  Most ships have a bunch of portholes where the crew live and they are usually open for ventilation.  Only warships practice "light discipline".

Lighting scattered around the ship will help bring "visual substance" to the outline of your ship at night.

You could also put an occasional light down on deck level where the crew might walk around at night -- checking the ship or adjusting pressure systems, etc, etc.  Decks should have some ambient light everywhere -- don't try walking around a ship in pitch darkness.  If you've already tried that -- don't do it again -- very dangerous, Indy. *

Your masthead lights are very good -- but not bright enough.  Double the brightness and she how that goes.

It's not quite so important to be strictly realistic with lighting -- but it does need to illuminate what your eye really wants to see -- the ship.

Hope that is some help, my friend !

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !
