I always thought it was the Great Barrier Reef, but when I Wikied it, they said it was the Honey Mushroom. Don't know if I'd want that in map. Maybe Alice in Wonderland.

Some time ago I was sent some concept art for SC2013 and I said I would make it. Unfortunately I can't find the PM and apologise to whoever sent it to me that it took so long (as it was a very simple building, but just fell off my radar).

But it is now in game

SC2013 was a miserable failure, it doesn't mean we can't salvage some of it and I commend you sir for plucking the gems from the trash of SC2013!

It's based off of a SC2013 lot? Does that mean the dependencies will be DLC? :)

I remember a time when a computer game was simply the disc, the manual and the box you purchased.

That changed sometime in the mid 2000s with Steam, first encountered Steam in 2010 when having to install Civ 5 from the disc. Of course once games required Steam and a third party for installation, or direct download from Steam, it meant PC games were technically leased which forms the building blocks of the renting / consumerist model which PC games have sunk too.

DLC was only a logical extension of the business model which changed how game developers operated and thus the games themselves. Even Cities: Skylines fell into that trap and I can honestly say that they should have condensed their expansions into one package- because the community has created a new game with community-built content. DLC is marked up easily 10x to 50x when one considers the time taken to create the core game.

So why not pay for the dependencies as a Simtropolis community-DLC? Could be a good April Fools joke for 2021... Hmm...

Yeah ---

Those were the "Good Old Days"  !!

Nowadays -- when you "level-up" -- you have to punch in the credit card number to pay for the "kit" involved.

Computer games used to be harmless -- now the "House" owns the operating system -- it's their rules -- and YOUR credit card.

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

About mid-way through another smaller high-rise, this time from C:S. It's a version of the KVB building for SC4

Still a lot to do with the model and textures....

....but everything I'm showing in these threads will get released (I always test them to make sure they grow, etc before I upload them, hence the delay between the images first being posted and their release to STEX/LEX)

Love this!

@pclark06 I still have a lot of work to do.

SimCity 4

I'm losing hope that one day we can force alpha blending without generating any graphical errors (So far all I have been able to do is force alpha blending on all shadows without generating too many errors).

Exporting these palms and creating the mmps will take longer than I thought so I'll export other BATS in the meantime. Of everything I've published, what do you want me to release first?

You know, there's an extensive set of drunken palms here-

Somehow I had no idea this was a thing you could do... considering rather or not to change the textures to include crosswalks also, though I have yet to finish reverting regular T-intersections to include them. Maybe not, for the sake of variety.
