Oooooh, I like this. I like this a lot! That roof texture is sweet, even if it repeats visibly. Maybe this could be helped with some editing, although I must confess I only noticed this tiling effect at the third or fourth glance. I also like the weathered look, and what I like most is that this one is right up my alley in terms of contrast and saturation. It's a question of style and taste, really, but some of your other creations looked a tad too heavily contrasted and saturated to me, even if they were absolutely top notch in all other respects, no doubt about that. This time you didn't only make a superb BAT, but also hit my personal sweet spot with it. *:thumb:

Hi there!

Now that my Essential finally is out of the way, I restartad the Urban Terminius Station project. So far I'm still experimenting the possibilities, most of the lots are still in very early stages, but they are coming along nicely...

Opinions?

Cool we need more terminus! One question  though, unless I missed it you don't see on any terminus a glr connection. Is that on purpose or just one of those things nobody includes it?

I like, the first one. But the other ones feel like there's an obvious clash of styles.

Agree, style and functionality doesn´t connect ! More track elevated stations, specialy a four track diagonal one would be nice !

@kschmidt if you make an elevated 4 track diagonal station model I would be more than happy to use that on a lot... I don't make models...
As you may notice these buildings more or less all of them were made by @mattb325, I just put them onto one lot.
The style is one thing, but can you explain what do you mean of "functionality doesn't connect"? These are stations and shopping malls and offices in one place. The thing is there are a lot of them around the world. A repurposed rail station got an office expansion on its top. This is actually not uniqe. Take a look at the Fenchurch Street Station in London and its neighbornhood.
@DavidDHetzel yepp, you're right, I'm mixing the styles and it's intentional. First of all, I like mixing styles, because most of the older cities don't have a uniformed look at least in Europe, but they have bunch of repurposed old buildings with restyled architecture. Second, I have a lack of similiar buildings with almost the same quality that would fit next to each other (not in style rather in quality), not to mention, that we don't have too many options with multi purpose stations. We don't really have too many options for Elevated Terminuses either (there are two and a half as far as I know. One what was made by @ILL Tonkso and it's oversized in a way - higher than the L2 Elevated networks and it has L2 railtextures burnt into the model -, there is one from Mattb, the modern L2 Elevated terminus, and the half is the small and oldschool looking but really nice also MattB creation on L1), so I had to fabricate a few from other buildings.

@robdragonI'm not sure about GLR connection just yet on these lots, but maybe I'll figure something out, however I have plans repurposing some buildings and give them GLR functionality, I mean GLR terminuses. Again the problem is lack of models what can be used for this purpose. Other project down on the list a cuple of urban GLR depos, similar what NOB and Uki made a decade ago, but with updated GLR textures....

GLR Terminus looks fine, HSR little out of touch with such bat texture model station size. ordinairy rail as such recognizable would fit more. Monorail may be a better to combine option !

alejolopez13 -- that sea brush is a great idea!

You could add land textures such as sand, soil, gravel, stones, grass and and other natural textures.

Even better, you could have a transparent texture and have some parts with cracks and dirt (grimy textures on top of road surfaces)- the equivalent of Cities Skylines' texture decals.

Seriously- you are on to something very special here! Keep going!

Made a few more changes to the Hubbington core. Some minor tweaks to the tram system achieved a better flow, added some zoning and did a little decorating along the east/west rail corridor.

Hubbington--CoreDone.thumb.jpg.7476a2c4565ce88dff79a4427515c362.jpg

Also added a small Ruburb (Rural like suburb).

Hubbington--RuburbClose.thumb.jpg.7bf656cc6aa8bc9f7ad778f1b89ee129.jpg

When I zoom out and do a route query I find most of the Sims, in this new burb, have chosen to work in manufacturing.Hubbington--RuburbLongQuery.thumb.jpg.f28615a620e06066ac09619ad0510666.jpg

Also made some visual improvements to the transfer stations on the monorail loop, like the one below.Hubbington-TransferStation.thumb.jpg.744bae602e9f910ffda339d3bb1d406a.jpg

Still planning on adding more Ruburbs and there is one good sized area that will get some development. Other than that, a lot of trees and flowers to plant.

@Simmer2  I so love that grass texture, although alas it's not up to scale (BTW, is there no way it could be ? it's a terrain mod, I know, but couldn't it be tweaked ?)
