About This File

Riverview Office Tower

Based on the real life building in Bloomington, MN, USA

BAT by IDS2

Lot by T Wrecks

Riverview Office Tower is a 196-foot (60m) office building located in Bloomington, Minnesota. It is part of the Appletree Square office complex and it was completed in 1973. Easily recognizable for its unusual color, it is visible for miles around throughout the Minnesota River Valley.

For those of you who don't care for the color, bear in mind that this building is a recreation. Making it bright orange wasn't a stylistic choice on my part ;)

Dependencies (you probably already have all of these):

BSC Mega Textures Vol. 01

BSC Mega Props CP Vol. 01

BSC Mega Props CP Vol. 02

This SC4 version sits on a 4x3 or 4x4 lot. Growable and ploppable lots (all with jobs) are included.

Night scenes come in both Maxisnite and Darknite varieties. The Darknite scene requires Simfox's mod available here. Download and install only one of the two varieties at a time.

Thanks again to T Wrecks for a beautiful lot that perfectly complements the building's form :)

To all of you kind people in my BAT thread - thank you so much for your support! I couldn't do it without you guys!

Woohooo! It's online! I really like this one for its contrast between the generic and nondescript shape and that odd colour - very hard to get right for SimCity, though. I've been following its creation closely, so I know how much work went into this, and the resulting building is beautiful in its particular way.

You chose a good main screenshot, too - it shows really well how this building will look in a city. I could also imagine it as one of the 2 or 3 tallest buildings in a smaller town.

By the way, it's funny how I loathe 70s atrocities IRL, but love them in SimCity... must be the realism aspect.

Not sure that I'm a fan of the color or the building design, but the execution of the BAT overall is just stunning. Still a 5/5 for me :)

Nice building that will stand out in a downtown 5/5!

(off topic: i feel alittle bad for asking here in replies, but could someone point me in the direction of the building on the left side of Riverview Tower in the first screenshot :) )

Since this is one of the buildings I modded and lotted, too, I remember it rather well. You can find it here. Ah, the memories...

It must be. It probably helps that when they're in your cities you don't actually have to live next to them.

Or maybe it's just that the way the game treats buildings makes realism always more satisfying. Nicely done IDS2; 5/5! The color is strange, but actually rather intriguing, especially for a 70's slab building like that one.
