I downloaded a large police station, which provides coverage for almost the entire city. The problem is, now when I mouse over and inquire, it says it's not a police station, but "Lillard Audio". I know it has something to do with another mod I downloaded, but I can't find which one. Has anybody run into this before?

Hello SC4 Peeps, Silly question here - Some of my cities don't have the Mayor Name's appearing. This region is the tutorial region, so I'm wondering if it's related to some bug or something. Any help / insight on how to fix it would be appreciated. Thanks.

So, I know there is a cheat in SC4 for renaming cities (whereufrom <cityname>, if the city name has spaces, you need to use quotes ") When I use this cheat and press enter, nothing happens. The city still has its original name, and the cheat box doesn't close. Also, when I save and go to the region, the city name is still the same! Any ideas on fixing this?

I want to assign plops a custom name. However, using "Item Name" from within the Ilives Reader doesn't do this. Same for description, using "item description" doesn't do this. I suspect the Item Name Key and Item Description key assigns this, but I don't know how to take advantage of this. The Item Name and Description only seems to modify the building when it's plopped.

Hello everyone. I've been experiencing this phantom slider bug for a quite while that I don't even remember how long this bug persists. Public Safety Dept. (both fire stations and police departments) and Health & Education (only health, education is okay) is totally bugged, slider goes all the way down in time and advisors go nuts. It's the only city I have that I put more than 1.000 hours in it so nuking it is no option. I wonder if is there any way I can fix this. Also I'd like to let you people know that I've been searching this bug for days and I've been trying all sorts of stuff but no luck, hopefully yet. Note that clicking Error: No name takes me basically nowhere. Bulldozing all of these fire stations, police departments and hospitals didn't help either. I'd appreciate a lot if someone can guide me through to fix this annoying bug. Thanks in advance!

Hello, Having blank-titled cities are nice, either the city name, mayor name, or both. This is useful for instance, regions with only one city and you don't need to name the tiles since they obviously belong to just one city. Or as in @CorinaMarie case, the region is controlled by one mayor, so no need to put your name. In the past, you made cities with blank title using dots (@CorinaMarie's method). But now, I going to show you the most elegant way to make a blank-titled city. Fire up your SimCity 4. Plan which cities you want to name them blank. Head to https://www.compart.com/en/unicode/category/Zs. Pick a space that isn't either space or non-breaking space since both are banned in the game. I personally use either en quad or em quad. Copy the space from the page and switch to the game. Open up one of your tile. Assuming your tile is undeveloped, click on the mayor tab and fill out either the city name, mayor name, or both with your selected character. Voila! Your city name, mayor name, or both are now blank. Save your city and leave the region if you wish just to name the city. If you fail, repeat the step 4 with other characters and try again. I hope this tutorial is useful. Thanks.

All Buildings of Type Taking Same Name [Solved]

I have a few different modded buildings that keep running into an issue. Every time I rename one of that building, all of the buildings of the same name are renamed to that, and in some cases it even shows up with the rename in the menu. I don't know what is causing it or why this could be happening as it has never happened to me before at all. Is there something that can be done to change or fix this? -
In the region "Timbuktu", the city "Big City". How do I change the mayor's name from the default "Defacto". I had all of this kind of info written down and in a file box. My apt got broken into. The person though I had important papers in the blue file box. All that was in the file box was notes, short cuts and cheats for games, Windows and things like that. Plus blank forms and other things for Amateur Radio. All of that stuff was only important to me. It was worthless to anyone else.

Want to start a dedicated City Journal: Help with a name Please

I wanted to do a city journal and stay with it this time, but I also need a "topic" for the Regions name, if anyone can give me some suggestions, I will pick from those "topics" or fields and name the region using that "topic" and then all the cities in the region will be names within the "topic". EXAMPLE: the topic is dogs. I would name the Region Genus Canis(Canine) and the cities would be, Houndsport, Beagledale and Barkington, etc. -

Ok. This is a Name That Song game type thread. Just type the lyrics or part of the lyrics to a song then wait for someone to guess that song. Rules: 1. No one else is to post new lyrics to song until its been answered. 2. Only the person who guessed the song correctly can post new lyrics to be answered. 3. If a person who is suppose to post a new song doesn't post one for 3 days, then the person who last posted a song will go again. 4. Googling songs IS cheating... so please... dont do it unless your searching for a new song to post if your turn to post. Well, I'll start off. "Waiting for the break of day/ Searching for something to say/ Flashing lights against the sky/ Giving up i close my eyes...." Now somebody has to guess the name of the song. Thank you and have fun. Recently there has been an influx of new users. While it hasn't happened yet, we sometimes get people who are stuck on picking city names, so I thought it might help if I put in the names I am using in one of my larger regions. Some the names are out and out nonsense, some from literature, some from my experience, and some of them are interlingual puns. Enjoy. If anyone has comments or specific questions on the origin of these, I'll be happy to oblige.
