  1. Offline-Online Tower Fix 1.4

    Version 1.4 Tower Fix

    11,946 Downloads

Once cities have large workforces or open jobs, megatower apartments will fail. This mod removes the happiness loss from low job count only to megatowers, making them balanceable. This works online too! To whom it may concern, I understand that this mod may mess with the leader score boards, leading to possible distortion , but I have weighed that the personal, consumer benefit of this mod exceeds that of the worth of having an accurate leader scoreboard. Individuals whom do not use the mod as intended, were likely not going to use any mod as intended anyway. Thank you. How To Play Mod; How you play the mod is you have a few extra jobs, like 500 to 50% extra of your total worker base. The Megatowers will not complain of no work... if mod is working as intended they will mostly only complain from too many jobs (overworked) if over the 50% mark. Aside from the usual like low land value. Extra jobs makes streets less crowded taking workers in quickly, and ensures sims have money after work to spends at shops. Otherwise your shop levels will run out of customers. You can reduce normal zone tax to make work on their end if towers are too competitive, occurring mainly between the megatower shops and the freelancer shops. Megatowers now operate with few hiccups so long as the city financing is in good order. This mod works that good ! Its for players wishing to delve deeper into the fun of building and managing (balancing) late game city cores. Mods that modify SimCityDLCEP1-Scripts_287520926 and SimCity-Scripts_287520926 will conflict. Mods that change Megatowers without changing these two files will likely work together. Mod File Content SimCityDLCEP1-Scripts_287520926 SimCity-Scripts_287520926 These two files are slightly mutated off base game, 99.999+% is not mine. 0.001% is the logic I applied. Installation 1. Create backup files of the package files named "SimCityDLCEP1-Scripts_287520926", and "SimCity-Scripts_287520926" from the Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity\SimCityUserData\EcoGame. Use these backup files to replace the modded ones if you do not want mod anymore. [Edit 9/22/2023] Origin appears to have changed the install path, the EcoGame folder may also be in the C:\User\[insert your user name here]\Appdata\Roaming\SimCity folder. To reach this simply right click on your windows icon bottom left, select run or search, then type in %appdata%. You will then have access to your scripts to replace. 2. Copy and replace both files in the directory stated in step one, with the files given in download. *Note, if you want to clean this mod out, you will need the backup files, hence why you do step one. My Disclaimers/Notes; 1. Both files are needed as they are dependent on each other to make this mod work, simulating normal game operation. 2. This mod was created utilizing the "SimCityPak_0_4_0_0" program, and SimCity files, anyone is free to modify or improve my work so long as it is not a direct copy on the same website. 3. Mods that need to alter the base scripts will not work, as they are replacing the same file. Mod merging can be done but other mod needs to also be a work online mod, I want to keep this mod online compatible. 4. This mod should not cause city rollbacks on a clean SimCity directory. It is either the other mod you have or the interaction of mods. 5. I will not claim responsibility to file corruption, or difficulty getting normal SimCity back, if you do not follow the installation steps. 6. Please do not download versions 1 through 1.3 of this mod if you want the towers fixed. I uploaded highly experimental versions in the first trials. 7. [Update] I tried to use this mod multiplayer with my friend and found that it causes roll back. This mod will work multiplayer with just you but with multiple people it won't work. I'd have to dig into the code farther and my time isn't like it was before. 8. [Update] This mod was designed for SimCity 2013 bought on Origin, playing on a Windows 10 system. Other setups may work but not supported as I don't have the means of adapting the mod for, given my setup. 9. [Plans] Both a note for my future self and downloaders to read. 1.4 is likely the last version of the script variant of mod. Since players will want either an online or offline variant of mod what would be 1.5 will be 1.00 instead of a new mod, 'the offline megatower fix mod'. Which would be more compatible with other script mods but not be able to do online due to the game knowing and doing roll back of city. Recommended Mods 1." Megatower Limit Increase", by "Brenflakes", offers a way to compact more of your city for build space, up to a theoretical 64 offline. Can be used online but causes rollback if you build more than the normal limit of 8. 2."No Agent Clumping", by "Buggi", helps remove tourists and students off the roads faster, improving traffic. Most notably the students. Works online. Get your friends to download so they too can see your city with less traffic clog.
  2. Siculia 2077 (Spin-off)

Note This city journal should not be considered canonical. Note:For a better view of the content we recommend to perform the following music Siculia year 2077 After the Third World War between Usa, North Korea, Illium and Poemia involving other nations, while some like Siculia, Santa Catarina and Teiko remained neutral, increasing their technological progress. With the discovery of new metals and industrial processes it was possible to pave the way for the colonization of space and the beginning of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Sprawling cities upwards New planes and spacecraft Increasingly faster construction processes Suspended Bridges connecting Megatowers Holograms for maximize sales City more and more vertically. It doesn't matter if this city doesn't sleep at night and.... No matter if this world remembers the future dreamed in the people of the 1980... ... But the current world is different from that of 2017, a world full of dangers and opportunities in this now world of cyberpunk. 3. Is there any way to speed up the build of Megatowers
  4. I bulldozed a mega tower (I have the mod Mega Tower with Realistic Population (MTRP)) and the roads coming out of the 3 sides of the tower won't bulldoze. I deleted the mod and the roads still won't bulldoze. Any advice as to how to bulldoze the roads? I tried plopping something over the roads to then bulldoze but that didn't work. I'm unable to draw roads over top of them. Also, I'm on a Mac if that matters.
  5. I have been fascinated by MegaTowers ever since I started playing SimCity, and like many of you, I have lost money and patience until I finally could build successful MegaTowers that were earning me 15 million per day all alone. Although every post talks about bugged MegaTowers, it is just a (reasonable) misconception because people ignore the following things. Ps: there is a list MegaTower bug fix by the end, remember to check it! First: it is a MegaTOWER, not a MegaTown! MegaTowers do not work isolated, so the solution to your problem hardly relies on building new levels. Second: just like any other building in this game, some MegaTower complaints should be ignored for a while (especially after the 1st level [especially if you already took action]), because... Third: MegaTowers take a while to load informations, especially ones coming from outside the tower (which are very important), Just like any other residence, MegaTowers rely on their location, land value, nearby attractions, etc... you can't simply ignore these, because it will will totally ruin residents' happiness and satisfaction. Example 1: once I've created 2 MegaTowers side by side, isolated from everything else, with only one level each and both wanted park levels. Normally, players immediately build a park for each tower and there goes a ton of cash... But remember that MegaTowers are isolated SimCity buildings! So I simply built one park, and minutes laters residents from both towers were happy! Why? All residents can go to nearby towers to fulfill their needs (even when there is no Skybridge); Example 2: I have created 4 Elite MegaTowers side by side, with a huge $$$ park in between and shops by the avenue. Well, they NEVER asked for any of these. But then they asked for jobs (I have no industrial buildings and few shops), so I created an office level in one of them. Well, they simply went to work inside this single Tech Office). Ps: once again, info takes a while to load, so they kept complaining for a while... Ps 2: never forget that Tech Offices only vary in wealth quantity (never excluding any kind). Example 3: I had this single $ MegaTower which suddenly started complaining about jobs... Some players build Office/Shop Levels immediately, but that is a horrible idea because all levels cost money to maintain and you need to be sure you can fill exactly what those will require. To fix this, I simply created a few industries and soon they were all working very happily. Oh, yes: it took a while to fill the apartments back again! If there is a MegaTower glitch, that is the real one. Example 4: once I had these two towers (one $$ and one $$$), with high wealth parks in between and only $$$ houses nearby that said "We need more shoppers to make a profit". But only the $$ kept complaining about building another apartment level Why? Well, 2 Apartment levels weren't enough to buy everything because those were the only medium wealth in town – unlike the $$$ MegaTower Shop, which was receiving shoppers from the rich houses nearby. MegaTower tips and bug fixes Never mix different wealth apartments unless you REALLY know what you are doing. Always check your RCI demands and population stats before building MegaTowers and its levels. You have to earn at least 2.5k and 4.5k per hour Simoleons to build MegaTowers and Elite Megatowers, respectively. Oh, that obviously applies to additional levels, so you won't ever have to shut it down as you try to fix it (making it take even longer to load your recent actions). Once again, never build a MegaTower unless you can afford the extra sewage, water and electricity it may require as you build more levels. Otherwise, you will bankrupt! Remember to be resilient when complaints are persistent... example: if your residents said they are overworking / have no relief from work even after you just built another apartment level to fix it, just wait a few game days to make sure if they are still unhappy. The same is true to "not enough workers to make a profit" bug and every other complaint. At the end of the day, if nothing fixes your glitches, you can just demolish problematic levels... but bulldozing rarely solves it, because they new one will probably have problems. So my best advice is to build your MegaTower very slowly. Since MegaTowers are not isolated from the whole SimCity, you can build Solar Panel Crowns to bring to energize your whole city and region; build parks to increase nearby residents satisfaction; get Air Scrubber Crowns to fill your ground with water and etc... Oh, the 15 million I earned from MegaTowers was because they had offices and shops with 5 Billboard Advertising Crowns! Well, that's it! Thanks for reading <3
  6. Hello, I am in a multiplayer game and am not using mods but my second elite Megatower will not receive power or water past level 3. I have ample supply of both flowing into the tower. Does anybody know what's going on?
  7. Request to delete this thread because I will start a new one with a different name and the project will be in the new thread. If you are willing to re-use this thread, you are welcome as well !
  8. I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out here. I've played around with various mods and watched some YouTube videos of Skye Storme's reviews on mods. I decided to remove all of the ones I had and then install his Mod Pack. (Found here: http://skyestorme.com/skyepack-mod-pack/) It includes a variety of mods that are mostly from Simtropolis, which is why I'm coming here. Everything has been going great, until I start building MegaTowers. I get to about the 4th level, and they start screaming that they aren't getting water or power! I have tried maxing out my water/power sources, including placing secondary providers closer to the towers. There's tons of water and power flowing through my city, but the MegaTower levels still aren't getting what they need. (I have also tried removing the Orion Project, as I found I wasn't really a fan of it and sometimes the water/power had problems getting through the entire city consistently.) I'm thinking this is a bug with one of the mods. But the Mod Pack includes quite a few mods, and I really don't know which one might be causing it. I AM going to start pulling mods out one by one and see if I can identify the problem. But I thought I would ask here in case anyone else has encountered this problem.

  10. I recently found a property file that allows you to have ten levels for a MegaTower (by punching in a cheat) in SimCityPak. The instance ID is 0x21982bfb. I was hoping that if some people did some exploring, we could figure out how to allow more levels for a MegaTower. I don't know what the cheat is I'll have to figure that out.
  11. Version 1.0

    22,410 Downloads

Hello everyone What this mod pack does (for MegaTowers and their levels): - Lowers construction cost - Lowers maintenance cost - Lowers power consumption - Lowers water consumption (for some) - Lowers garbage production (for some) - Raises number of shoppers (for some) - Raises number of visitors per day (for some) - Raises tax value (for some) - Raises tax income (for some) - Raises number of jobs (for some) - Raises capacity (for some) - Raises sewage consumption (for some) - Raises power production (for some) - Raises amount of MegaTowers that can be plopped to 48 (24 shown in picture, but that is because I had a conflicting mod installed) NOTE: When I say "for some" in parentheses, it means that those things only apply to certain levels of a MegaTower. These things only apply to certain levels because that's what is logical. An education level can't produce power, for example . Levels and MegaTowers these things apply to: - Elite MegaTower - Regular MegaTower - Both education levels - Both safety levels - Both $$ mall levels - Both $$ apartment levels - $$$ apartment level - Low tech office - Both medium tech offices - High tech office - All crowns - Nuclear reactor level - Fusion reactor level - Both waste reduction levels - Both park levels What I plan to add: Both skybridge stations and the $ apartment level NOTE: This mod pack only works in offline mode and with the COT expansion pack. Here's a video for this enhancement pack: How to install: 1. Unzip the files after downloading. 2. Copy and paste the .package files into C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games/SimCity/SimCityUserData/Packages. NOTE: If pasting the files into this folder does not work, just put them in your SimCityData folder. Enjoy! More mods are coming!
  12. Megatower Limit Increase

    Version 1.0

    16,130 Downloads

Megatower Limit Increase Previous limit of 8 megatowers has been changed to 100, which is more than what can fit in the map (screenshot attached has 25, and it was a coastal map). Limit shows /100, but only the last 8 built are shown in the menu. Im unsure if this can be modded or not, im looking into it. Apart from that, all towers are fullly functioning. Place the Megatower_Limit_Increase.package in your SimCityData folder to use this mod.
  13. Megatower Base in Menu

    Version 1.1

    6,053 Downloads

Just a basic mod to add the megatower base to the menu, so you dont have to delete the default levels if you want something else. No other modifications made. BUG : Road/power etc bug fixed. Extract Megatower-No-Levels.package to your SimCityData folder to use this mod.
  14. Insane Megatower Mod

    Version 2.1

    15,930 Downloads

Please ensure you read the install instructions at the bottom. So Mod number #2, and i admit this one is a bit crazy. I cant workout how to increase the number of towers, so instead I increased the existing towers stats to roughly triple their size without adding too much burden on the city itself. The towers are capable of being self sufficent, being able to use a mix of all level types to provide all the needs required or packed with residential for massive industry or commercial cities. I've done a fair bit of testing, and overall the balance seems quite good. I had a 100k population 2 tower city using all levels available and it was self sufficient and making an overall profit. Traffic gets a bit hectic, so space out and provide enough services to the residents. If you have any questions, comments or requests for packs to be modified and uploaded separately, feel free to ask. Update to 2.0 Major update to the mod. Completley repackaged into packs so you can pick and choose the ones you want to use. New packs and features added, every single level has been modified to be more powerful. I've been testing mainly using 2-3 towers using all available levels and had quite manageable populations in very small areas, allowing more construction of non-residential stuff. The thought of 8 full megatowers with packed low weath residents is why i call this mod insane. used in moderation, it is also lots of fun. Residential Pack High Wealth Residential Residents increased from 300 to 900 Students increased to 100 Split 800 workers / 100 shoppers Cost $56000 Maintenence $3500 Medium Wealth Residential Residents increased from 600 to 1800 Split 1600 workers / 200 shoppers Students Increased to 200 Cost $44000 Maintenence $2300 Low Wealth Residential Residents increased from 1200 to 3600 Split 3200 workers / 400 shoppers Students increased to 400 Cost $4000 Maintenence $1000 Mall Pack Balancing of Shoppers and visitors to accomodate the higher residents. Increase in number of shoppers Park Pack Parks and Park Crowns capacities and visitor numbers increased School Pack Elite - Increased from 2000 to 6000 Mega - Increased from 1200 to 3600 Office Pack All jobs have been tripled Security Pack Safety Level Drones Increased from 10 to 100 Power Pack Nuclear Level Converted to be the equivalent of a Neutron Reactor. Cost $130,000 for 600MW output Controlnet requirement removed Water usage increased Fusion Reactor Level converted to a 50% Advanced Fusion reactor. Cost $250,000 for 1200MW output Controlnet requirement increased to 2500 Water usage increased Crowns have been modified using stats from above, and their output is before the crown bonus. I added extra cost to compensate for the bonus. I can imagine 5 elite crowns would be total utter overkill. Gen I Crown. Cost $250,000 for 600MW output Gen V Crown. Cost $390,000 for 1200MW output Pollution Pack Air Scrubber Crowns Cost $200,000 increased from 100 ton to 200 ton capacity. Controlnet requirement increased to 2000 Waste Reduction floors Cost $120000 Capacity increased from 0.4 to 4 Tourism and Commerce Pack Advertising crowns profits boosted Tourism and SkyClops crowns visitors per day and capacity increased For Offline Use Only Installation Instructions : IMPORTANT! if you are using the original mod i released, you need to delete the 2 brenflakes_insane_megatower_mod files! If you leave them in, they will probably do weird things. All Files are in the zip, and the file names start with Insane_megatower_mod. The pack name is at the end of the file, Simply drop the packs you want into your SimCityData folder. You may need to Copy SimCityDLCEP1-Scripts_287520926.package from SimCityUserData/EcoGame to the SimCityData folder. Results have been a bit mixed. if you get stuck, have a look in the comments or ask a question. Launch Game. Enjoy!

Ok, before anything, a few people to give a shout-out to Mods that will be shown- credit given to mod authors. Trees Everywhere Simcity Revision Real population People to thank- Migamin, for helping me with my first mod install. Ladies and Gentlemen! And, now the rest of you, I bring you, CAPE JUSTICE!!! We start in Norwich hills-
  16. first of all where do most people put them? random or strategic location? what levels do you put in them? and in what order? what crowns do you use/like the most? also what zones do you place around the rest of your city? like do you not zone commercial because you place all the commercial in your megatowers? and other stuff like that. And any other discussions about megatowers you can think about as a whole. To start off, I normally just place them randomly around my city and not next to each other, but usually with a MagLev next to one exit. I try to place the mall/office levels around my skybridge (thinking back to SimTower I thought that would be a good idea) and the skybridge as close the center as possible (level 4 or 5 usually) so every level has equal access to them. I also place the levels as needed. The megatower adviser guy usually tells me what is needed in them. I also favor the solar crowns because two of them can power any CoT city I've built so far plus the solar crowns don't take up any room in your city and if you have all eight megatowers you can place at least one of each type of crown anyways (so it's not like you don't have room for the others). Here is one problem I have with them. After playing a city for a long time (usually by game year four) my megatowers start to go abandoned. The residential levels say they can't find work so they move out, then my office/mall levels start to go red because they're losing shoppers/workers from the residential moving out and soon I have entire megatowers that are red. Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so how do you fix it? Another thing I can't figure out is that a residential level in one tower is red and an office level in another tower that is directly connected with skybridges is also red. The residential says they can't find work and office says not enough workers. The solution is easy, get the residential from one building to work at the office in the other (isn't this what the skybridges are for?), but they're not smart enough to figure this out for themselves. How can this problem be solved? These problems really affect my Academy cities, because my Academy is basically ran off the megatower population, then my ControlNet drops when they leave and something ran by ControlNet stops working which leads to other problems. So that is why I wanted to start this discussion for megatower strategies and problems (for me and everyone else to understand how to use them better/more efficiently).
