  1. (Offline-Only) Roads With No Traffic Lights

    There's some pictures in the link to my original Forum post.  But in short, the power and water don't flow to levels 4-8 of the mega towers.  Works fine for 1-3, but not the rest.  Traffic also seems to fly through the air, going from the road in front of the building, and flying up to the level that is their destination.  Or... something like that. There are also people floating in mid air, walking in and out of their destination floors. Another issue is roads won't snap to the internal roads on the sides of the towers. The final issue is that if you try and delete the mega tower, it leaves behind the internal roads.  Those roads can't be destroyed, and you can't place anything back on top of them. So yeah, it's a pretty drastic problem with the mega towers.  I understand if the problem hasn't been identified.  I know it's tough with this kind of thing.  Perhaps the information I provided might be useful.  Otherwise, users can pick and choose which combination of mods they want to use, so they don't clash with each other.
  2. Bi-level Streets Pack

    The fact that a smooth increase of roads impossible to build a road on the road. And this is a basic principle of this mod.   Forgive me, but I didn't understand your response at all. I thought I've seen images/pictures where people have created multiple levels of roads, and were able to smoothly join them together.  But I haven't been able to get it to work like that. As an example, let's take a look at the sample pictures included with this mod.  The 4th picture shows 3 levels of roads.  The ground level road has another road going above that.  Then above those two is a 3rd road, at a higher level.  We can't see it in this picture, but how does the 3rd level road get back down to ground level?  It seems too high to use a ramp to go from ground level up to it's level.  At least for me, I haven't been able to take a road that high and get it back down to ground level without creating a long series of "step down" roads which take a lot of space and doesn't give a smooth transition. Edit: I decided to go in game and try to re-create what wee see in the 4th picture that comes with the mod.  Then I tried to create a transition from the 3rd level road, back down to ground level. If I try to use the Transition Ramp to go from the 3rd level road, down to ground level, it won't "snap" to the upper level, and stays on the ground:   In order to create a transition, I have to add a road midway between.  This creates a "stepped" look.  It'd be nice if it would be possible to create a smooth ramp going from the upper height to ground level: On reflection, I guess the real answer to this is to only raise it in areas where it needs to go above other roads.  Then bring it back down to the "normal" raised road level, so you can then add transition ramps normally or take it back down to ground level further down the road. Still, it'd be a nice option to go from ground level to a higher road, smoothly.  But I guess we can't have everything.  heheh  :)
  3. (Offline-Only) Roads With No Traffic Lights

    I recently picked up this Mod along with a bunch of others through Skye Storme's Mod Pack.  Found here: http://skyestorme.com/skyepack-mod-pack/ After playing for awhile, I ran into a problem.  My MegaTowers weren't getting any water or power from level 4 on.  Additionally, if I tried to connect roads to the sides of the towers, the road ends wouldn't snap together.  Not only that, but if I tried to delete the MegaTower, the roads remained behind and could NOT be bulldozed. I underwent a great deal of testing to try and isolate the problem.  In the end I discovered there are, in total, 5 mods that don't work when combined together.  This is one.  The other files are:   - 009_OFFLINE_DLC_UI_O_ECTS_SUGC_TEAM1_20_0818_1_8_UDoN.zip - OFFLINE-ONLY_UniDirectionalNetworks.rar ( Both from http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/29585-offline-only-mod-%E2%80%9Cunidirectional-networks-udon%E2%80%9D/ )   - 003_OFFLINE_DLC_UI_OBJECTS_SUGC_TEAM1_20140814_2_0_PedestrianPath.zip ( http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/29473-offline-only-mod-%E2%80%9Cpedestrian-paths%E2%80%9D/ )   - OFFLINE-ONLY_MaglevAsSubway.rar ( http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/29428-maglev-as-subway/ ) I also tried the most recent version of RWNTL, instead of the one that came in the pack, and the problem was still present.  Additionally, the Regional version of this mod does NOT create any problems.  It is ONLY the in-town version that causes the problem. At first I thought it was the first 2 not working with the other 2.  But I found that if I removed all the other mods and left all four in place, the MegaTowers worked fine.  That's when I realized that there was another mod causing problems. After undergoing even more testing, I isolated Roads With No Traffic Lights as the real culprit.  This mod does work in combination with some of the above files, but not with all of them.  In summary, this is what I came up with: RWNTL + UniDirectionalNetworks + UDoN = No problem. RWNTL + PedestrianPath + MaglevAsSubway = No problem. All 4 of the files - RWNTL = No problem. RWNTL + All 4 other files = Broken MegaTower I've made posts on the other authors pages about this, as well.  If you want a full rundown of the process I went through to isolate the problem, including links to pictures to illustrate the problems, I made a post on the forums: http://community.simtropolis.com/topic/65221-skyepack-mods-megatower-problem/ As I'm reading through the comments on this page, I realize I don't think I've tried to actually use Maglev or Maglev as Subway while this mod was in place.  So I can't speak for that.  But I know that in combination with the other files, it DOES break the MegaTowers.

    I want to add an update after my previous comment.  I did some further testing and discovered if I removed ALL of my mods EXCEPT the four listed above, my MegaTowers worked fine.  So I realized there was another mod(s) causing the problem.   6. FINAL ANALYSIS! FOR REAL, THIS TIME!!! Stick a fork in me, because I am DONE! I am putting this problem to BED! LOL So here are my findings. The REAL problem lies with MaxvSk's "Roads With No Traffic Lights" mod. ( ) Note that only the in-town version of this mod breaks the MegaTowers, the regional file doesn't create any problems. So I ran further tests to isolate just exactly how the files interact with each other. With the Roads With No Traffic Lights (RWNTL) mod installed by itself, MegaTowers are fine. RWNTL + UniDirectionalNetworks + UDoN = No problem. RWNTL + PedestrianPath + MaglevAsSubway = No problem. All 4 of the files - RWNTL = No problem. RWNTL + All 4 other files = Broken MegaTower I attempted multiple combinations of the files, and the above is what my results came up with. I did find that RWNTL has been updated from the version included with Skye Storme's Mod Pack, so I did update the file and try that, but the same problem was still present. I also attempted CapTon's suggestion and deleted the MegaTower to try plopping it back on the same spot. As it turns out, when you delete the MegaTower, the internal roads are left behind. Those roads can NOT be bulldozed. So it is impossible to plop the MegaTower back on the same spot. I will now add a note to the page for RWNTL and update my notes on the other pages to let all the authors know of my findings. heh *phew* I don't think I have ever put this much effort into tracking down a mod problem before. But I feel I have done every possible thing I could to narrow down the exact problem.
  7. I suppose I can try that, but not sure why that would affect it. This is happening from the very start, and with every tower I plop down. You can also see the lines going diagonally up to the first level, before you even add any other levels. That's one thing that has made this easier to troubleshoot. I just throw down a tower, try connecting a road on the side, and check the flow of electricity. If the problem is present, the road won't connect, and the electricity is going at an angle straight up to the first floor. I'm much better now. I get Silent Migraines once in awhile, and this last was so strong it was giving me nausea, light sensitivity, visual auras, eye strain, major fatigue, the whole nine yards... just with a mild headache. But a Silent Migraine is one where a headache doesn't actually accompany it. This time it was strong enough to give me a headache. But yeah, I'm much better now. heheh Also, to re-iterate, I don't have ANY mods that affect my population as far as I know. Either in general, or in the towers.
  8. Just to be clear, I don't use any mods that increase the population of my megatowers. I tried that once, and I really didn't like it. Having gone through all of my mods now and gotten familiar with what all came with Skye Storme's pack, I didn't see ANY mods there that would directly affect the megatowers, or mods that were designed specifically to affect megatowers. As we can see from the issue I encountered, though, other mods can affect them, even if they aren't directly modifying the towers. It's always possible that the issue I encountered by having all 4 of these mods installed could have been caused by yet another mod. I hadn't considered that until this moment. And I really don't feel like trying to test it, at least not right now. lol But if someone else has all 4 of these files in place and HASN'T encountered this problem, then that could be a sign there's yet another mod involved creating this issue. (At the moment, this gives me a headache even trying to wrap my head around it. But I'm also not feeling good right now. Maybe when I feel better I can play around with it some more. heheh) EDIT Okay so I guess I'm a glutton for punishment. Despite feeling ill, after making my post I found my curiousity getting the better of me. I removed ALL of my mods, and only had these 4 files installed. Created a new game... and the MegaTower is working properly. So this means there is at least 1 other mod that is creating this conflict. *le sigh* I think I will do further testing on this, because I wouldn't mind using the Maglev as Subway mod. Just probably not right now... Not until I get over this migraine.

    Hello MaxisGuillaume!  I recently picked up this mod along with a bunch of others, through Skye Storme's mod pack.  As I began playing, I encountered a problem.  My MegaTowers were not receiving any power from level 4 on.  Instead of the lines showing power and water flowing into the base and then upwards, there were diagonal lines going from in front of the tower and connecting to the first 3 levels, but no such line connecting to the 4th level or any level above that.   I also couldn't connect roads to the roads at the base of the tower, the cursor wouldn't snap to them, and trying to draw them over the road simply overlapped two roads without actually connecting.  Although cars and pedestrians were still using that road as though it was connected, and power/water flowed through the road.   After a great deal of time spent removing mods and narrowing down the problem, I was able to identify two files that were conflicting with two other files. The first two files are both from Xoxide's UniDirectional Networks (UDoN) ( http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/29585-offline-only-mod-%E2%80%9Cunidirectional-networks-udon%E2%80%9D/?st=400#comment_646978).  The specific files that are in conflict are:   - 009_OFFLINE_DLC_UI_O_ECTS_SUGC_TEAM1_20_0818_1_8_UDoN.zip - OFFLINE-ONLY_UniDirectionalNetworks.rar Your MagLev As Subway mod is one of the files conflicting with the above mods.  The other is a Pedestrian Path mod, also by Xoxide.  ( http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/29473-offline-only-mod-%E2%80%9Cpedestrian-paths%E2%80%9D/ )  I have made a post on Xoxide's page as well to alert him to the issue. Sometimes I'm in better moods then others when it comes to troubleshooting stuff like this. lol Now that I'm rested and back from family activities, I'm planning to do some more testing, as I mentioned previously. If I can narrow down the problem (unless I get it resolved) then I plan to contact the mod maker directly with more information. Also going to contact Skye to alert him to the problem, if I can. Edit: So the two files I listed before work just fine when alone with no other mods. So now it is looking like they're conflicting with another mod. I was hoping it would just be a problem with those mods, and an update or just removing them would fix the problem. No such luck. Leaving those files in place, I'm now going to try and figure out which mod(s) are conflicting with them. At least now I have a better idea of what to watch for (road that won't connect, and yellow power lines angling upwards wrong) so I should be able to test the files faster, I don't have to wait to build all 4 levels of the tower. FINAL ANALYSIS!! Alright, so I have narrowed down the problem that I was having. Two mods are conflicting with the UDoN files. The original files are from . - 009_OFFLINE_DLC_UI_O_ECTS_SUGC_TEAM1_20_0818_1_8_UDoN.zip - OFFLINE-ONLY_UniDirectionalNetworks.rar The two files that are conflicting with the above files are as follows: - 003_OFFLINE_DLC_UI_OBJECTS_SUGC_TEAM1_20140814_2_0_PedestrianPath.zip ( ) - OFFLINE-ONLY_MaglevAsSubway.rar ( ) You can either have the first two sets of files installed, or the latter two files. If all four files are installed, the MegaTowers can not receive water or power from level 4 on, and the roads won't snap to the roads inside the tower at the base. As near as I can tell, only the first file listed above has been updated from the version included in Skye Storme's pack. I did remove that file and install the updated version, but the problem was still present. I'm going to be posting this as a comment on all the above listed mods as well. In the meantime, I think I'll just keep the latter two files out of my game.
  12. Okay, I've narrowed it down to two files, which appear to be part of the same mod. Xoxide's "Offline-Only Mod: “UniDirectional Networks (UDoN)” ( ). The two files causing the problem: - 0SP_009_OFFLINE_DLC_UI_OBJECTS_SUGC_TEAM1_20140818_1_8_UDoN - 0SP_OFFLINE-ONLY_UniDirectionalNetworks The 0SP was added to the beginning by Skye Storme when he added it to his Skye Pack. It appears to be two of the files listed under the above page: - 009_OFFLINE_DLC_UI_O_ECTS_SUGC_TEAM1_20_0818_1_9_UDoN.zip - OFFLINE-ONLY_UniDirectionalNetworks.rar The first file name doesn't match up exactly, but seems to be about the same file. Judging by the difference in names, it seems Xoxide has updated that first file, at least, since it was added to Skye's pack. For now I am done testing, and I need to get some sleep. But later I am going to try removing all mods but these two files, and see if it has the same issue. I will also try downloading the latest versions and testing with those. I just thought I'd post my update on my progress before I disappear for a few hours. heheh Oh, and here are two screenshots showing the problem(s). I posted them to my Facebook profile, but they're public, so you should be able to see them whether you have an account or not: Floating cars and people: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=996031137079139&l=795e13dc41 Power lines, and the 4th level getting no power: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=996031170412469&l=be3c066212 On the second photo, the water lines also follow the same lines as the power. You can also see at the base on the side where the road doesn't connect properly to the internal road. But if you have a road overlapping or coming close to the internal road, like it is there, people and cars will go on it and power/water will flow through it. It just doesn't visibly connect. No, I actually removed the mod that lets you build outside of the normal boundaries. So they're all "in town" and on standard (non-regional) roads.
  13. Thank you, CapTon! I'm still testing mods... Ugh. Love mods, but the testing when encountering problems can be a pain. heheh I have noticed a few things that are also present during this issue: 1) I can see people moving into the different levels of the building, like they're walking in from the road... Except they're in mid-air, walking into the actual level they're heading for. 2) When viewing the tower while having the electric or water panel open, there are angled lines running from in front of the building, one to each separate level. 3) The cars seem to follow the same lines as the electric/water lines. They shoot up at angles into the individual levels of the tower. 4) I can't add roads coming out of the sides of the tower. Roads don't "snap" to the ones that are present at the base of the tower. I can add roads in, though they don't actually connect to the road, and traffic flows over it... But it looks weird. All in all, this seems to be an issue with one of the road mods. Which also matches up to the mods I've narrowed it down to. I've got it narrowed down to 10 mods. Testing them in groups. When I figure out which mod(s) are causing the problem, I'll also take a screenshot to show the issue.
  14. I've been going through and testing a bunch of mods at once, trying to narrow it down. I haven't noticed anything in the file names yet indicating a mod for the towers, unfortunately. I'll continue to keep an eye out, though. (I tend to skim through things and am known for missing the obvious sometimes. heh ) I'll keep checking back here to see if anyone has any further info, and will report if I find anything useful.
  15. I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out here. I've played around with various mods and watched some YouTube videos of Skye Storme's reviews on mods. I decided to remove all of the ones I had and then install his Mod Pack. (Found here: http://skyestorme.com/skyepack-mod-pack/) It includes a variety of mods that are mostly from Simtropolis, which is why I'm coming here. Everything has been going great, until I start building MegaTowers. I get to about the 4th level, and they start screaming that they aren't getting water or power! I have tried maxing out my water/power sources, including placing secondary providers closer to the towers. There's tons of water and power flowing through my city, but the MegaTower levels still aren't getting what they need. (I have also tried removing the Orion Project, as I found I wasn't really a fan of it and sometimes the water/power had problems getting through the entire city consistently.) I'm thinking this is a bug with one of the mods. But the Mod Pack includes quite a few mods, and I really don't know which one might be causing it. I AM going to start pulling mods out one by one and see if I can identify the problem. But I thought I would ask here in case anyone else has encountered this problem.
