Hi all, I had what I thought was a pretty neat idea, so in the real world as things change you see industrial buildings being converted to residential. What if you took some of the Maxis default lots and then repurposed them as residential (or commercial)? Some possibilities: This would convert nicely to lofts: SimCity 4 Building Index (simcity4buildings.net) This would be a grate craft beer bar and brewery: SimCity 4 Building Index (simcity4buildings.net) Another lofts conversion: SimCity 4 Building Index (simcity4buildings.net) Creative workshops: SimCity 4 Building Index (simcity4buildings.net) This could be two ~ three houses or a restaurant even: SimCity 4 Building Index (simcity4buildings.net) In London there is a hipster district called Shoreditch that has a lot of former industrial buildings that are now either commercial or residential, it looks great in person. I am pretty busy myself these days so unlikely to get a chance to put the effort in any time soon to make the lots and establish the city district but if someone else wanted to then it is a great way to keep some of the industrial building set in a post industrial city. The real life version:

Is it possible to convert MMPs into GMPs?
TheMurderousCricket posted a topic in Mapping Community Room
Hello Guys. What the title says. I currently design my first SC4 map and I was wondering if it is at all possible to convert a set of MMP trees for use in the GMP mode? You see, the problem is that I would like to adorn my newly-made terrain with some trees that are available in my mayor mode. Much the same way as @Terring does in his examples of planting, then, obliterating. The problem, however, is that the MMP set I mention has no "brush effect" for covering large expanses quickly. This forces me to add one tree at a time or hold the left-click, putting an ugly line of trees on the ground. This is why I wonder if I can somehow convert these props for the god-mode use. Any tips will be highly-appreciated. -
I am not having any luck with searching the forum for this so i'm just going to ask. 1. does anyone know of a decent school bus prop? (other than this one http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=655927209 ) 2. if not, how hard would it be to turn an existing vehicle into a prop version? like this one http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=483867475 if someone has posted a how to or walkthrough on conversion i should at least be able to get a local copy for use. i wouldnt post to the workshop with out original uploaders thumbs up. Thanks!

Converting a passenger engine to freight engine
Cheezy the Wiz posted a topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
Hi all. I have a question that I hope is rather simple: I want to know if it is easy/ possible to convert a skin for a passenger train engine into one for a freight train engine. The engine I want to convert is one of these GG-1s: https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/17573-gg1-for-various-railroads/?tab=comments. So how would one do this? Is it as simple as re-naming the file or placing it somewhere else? Or is that distinction between passenger and freight engine somewhere in the code? Thanks! -

This mod converts all existing older OWW lots in your cities to use the same deck texture used by the newer OWW2. This allows the two styles to be used together and visualy blend into one, much larger collection. And by blending the two styles togetrher, you will have many more coastal toys to play with and much greater flexibility in how you develop your coastlines. Once installed, the effect is automatic. You do not need to re-plop any of your older OWW lots. To revert to the old style of lots at any time, simply remove the mod file. from your Plugins folder. All of the original OWW lots are included in the mod... including various speciallty lots, such as the original versions of the Fisherman's Wharf, Seaport Village, the Fireboat Dock, the OWW Ferry and the CDK Pond & Stream transition lots. The newer OWW2 OWW Transition lots are also included. For help creating the perfect terrain for CDK lots, we strongly recommend reading The Official CDK Tutorial. ** This mod has no dependencies. All Pegasus files are now legacy content and are no longer officially supported - however support from the wider community can be requested here.
