The Coastal Development Kit 3 (CDK3) Collection is a collated package of all of the previous CDK3 downloads released by Pegasus Productions. Rather than download and install a large number of packages, it is now possible to get everything you need in just one single self-contained download, including all required dependencies. The installer package allows you to simply select those parts of the CDK3 theme you want, then it will smartly install only those dependencies that are required to use them. After making your selections and letting the installation complete, you can go straight in game and just play with all the fantastic content, no need to mess with anything further. The installer handles everything automatically, so say goodbye to the stress of installing such modular sets and tracking down dependencies and hello to better coastal views in SimCity 4. A huge thank you to Pegasus for giving permission to repackage everything in this manner, helping to make content more accessible into the future. Every CDK3 package, previously over 130 separate downloads, has been organized by their themes, for example the Seaports, Marinas and so on. You can customize exactly which specific parts of each CDK3 theme you want and select from any relevant options. The installer will then install your choices and automatically handle all related dependencies. Literally the CDK3 in its entirety is now installable in a small fraction of the time it used to take. Better still, we've ruthlessly optimised the process, ensured no duplicate files exist and made everything more consistent, so the installation and your Plugins folder is kept neat and tidy. Note that because this package was taken from what were originally many separate downloads, rather than try to merge all the Readme's into one place, we've kept them separate, but all the included options are are installed for reference. Please note all the Readmes are located inside of \Documents\SimCity 4\PEG Readmes, so they don't clutter your Plugins folder. This package requires no external dependencies. All discussions and support for this product are now hosted on the PLEX on the STEX - Community Support thread at Simtropolis !!! Functional Seaports / Seaport Controller - IMPORTANT INFORMATION !!! If you choose to install one or more of the Functional Seaport lots, use of them will require that the Pegasus Seaport Controller is installed. Note that this will replace the in-game seaport in the Water Transit menu. !!! It is imperative that you do not install more than one Seaport Controller - failure to adhere to this warning, could prevent you from opening your cities and render them useless. !!! By installing the controller, you are confirming that you have no other Seaport Controller installed. To avoid conflicts that could prevent you from being able to load your cities, you should never use any other functional Seaport Mod or Lot, except those supported by this package, which are as follows: PEG-CDK3-SP_Container-Seaport.dat* PEG-CDK3-SP_Pier-Seaport.dat* PEG-CDK3-SP_Break-Bulk-SeaPort.dat* CSK2 Canal Small Seaport SWAP Package Handling Centre Note: Items marked with * are included with this package, everything else is not part of the CDK3, although the included Seaport Controller will support their use. If you are unsure if you have any unsupported Seaports, we strongly suggest testing them in a new, blank test city first. If you can Plop the Seaports, save, exit and reload the city all without issue, then you should be safe to use them in your existing cities. Additionally, we recommend making a backup of your Regions BEFORE using any of the functional Seaports, this way if something does go wrong, you have a way to fix the problem. We can not be held responsible for your failure to read, understand or follow the advice here. Whilst this is necessary due to the way the game works, there really isn't anything to worry about, provided you never install more than one such controller, but the warnings are here because if you do, the consequences are not good. Users with pre-existing CDK3 installed The package was originally designed for new users of the CDK3, given that it's main purpose was to simplify the installation, that doesn't really do anything for those with existing installs. However, a Cleanitol RemoveList is attached here, which should be ran before running the CDK3 Collection Installer, will find and remove all the original CDK3 content from your Plugins folder: RemoveList - CDK3 Collection.txt -

Difficulty Connecting Rail to Transit-Enabled Port
jeffryfisher posted a topic in NAM & Transit Networks
PEG's CDK3 container port is supposedly transit-enabled with a socket for a rail connection. However, I can't find an elevation at which rail can actually connect. Every time I place the port/station, it punches the elevation down. Then when I drag rail (RRW) to its railhead, a height-shift retaining wall appears, leaving my rail about 10' above the port instead of joined. I've even tried using the god-mode leveling tool to bring all surrounding land down to the level of the port (annihilating one port that I had to replace with another). The replacement port sank the land even further, so the rail connection failed again. Has anyone ever succeeded in joining any kind of rail to the rail-enabled CDK3 container port? If so, is there a special technique needed to get the elevations matched? And what about RRW? Should RRW connect with anything designed for Maxis rail, or could it be incompatible with a mod lot tricked to act as a Maxis freight station? EDIT: If I can't fix this next time I play, then I'll grab a screenshot and try to post it. -

UPDATED!!!!! To Version 1.16 Are you tired of your sims falling off the edge of the dock, having some cargo slip away over the edge? Also are some of your vehicles accedentally tapped once and you end having to pull them from the shoreline with a crane of some kind? Well I may have an answer for the matter. End Docks. Go with me on this, as these End docks are more ways to end the CDK3 SP lots. The bonus is that these lots have a fence running alongside up to the end of the dock, so at least nothing will accidentally fall off that side. I have made 6 lots just for this occation. 3 different types with a Left & right end for each, making a total of 6 lots. There is one for each; the Break-Bulk Dock, Container Dock, and the Warehouse Dock. I made these for 3 main reasons. 1. It was a request by feanorknd at simpeg forums. 2. I have noticed the lack of variety for these type of lots. 3. I had in mind a plan to make them anyway. They are as you see them with the corresponding names the regular Seaport lot with containers, a Break-bulk one, and a lot with a warehouse on it to better simulate the WH End. I have tested these lot and they all should work fine. The Warehouse lot has a driveway in the front 1 tile in and has some IM jobs to boot. The rest of the lots are as is, just End lots. The special feature made possible by RebaLynnTS, is the Rail has an end on each of the lots as well; prop and texture. Now the container dock has containers and the BB has the usual BB Stuff in the placement form of it ending there. The size of the lots are: 1. CDK3 SP Container Dock Ends, 2x5 2. CDK3 SP BB Dock Ends, 2x5 3. CDK3 SP WH Dock Ends, 3x5 UPDATE: Version 1.15 - Original Release. Version 1.16 - I had to put Becca's Prop and Textures in a separate file for easier updating purposes. So basically all I did was take out the prop and textures from the main dat and put them in the RLM_RailPropNTextures_V1.dat. General Update: I only added links below to dependacies to this page, did not do anything to the package itself. dependencies: PEG MTP Small Plazas STEX PEG CDK3 SUPER PAK STEX PLEX PEG CDK3 SP SUPER PAK STEX PLEX PEG CDK3 SP Corner Docks STEX PLEX PEG Chainlink Fence Props STEX PLEX Nightlighting patch (OPTIONAL: for mainly the Warehouse version) Tamorr Family Props v1 or higher (is included) RLM_RailPropNTextures_V1.dat or higher (Included, with the permission from RebaLynnTS) INSTALLATION: Just move the dat files into the Plugins directory in the SimCity 4 My Documents Directory. (Note: If you want you can put it in PEGs CDK3 Seaport Directory as these Lots go along with the CDK3 SP as that is what they were made for them anyhow, and makes it easier to find & keep things organized.) The Tamorr Family props file can just overwrite the other one I have included with my Bob's Transfer dock, if you have downloaded that file. It is basically the same file. So you could delete it if you already have it. CREDITS: PEGASUS for all the resources that were made available to even be able to make these lots. With out them there would be no end lots of this kind, as they wouldn't match up to any other waterfront lots out there, as far as I know. RebaLynnTS for the prop and texture she provided for the rail end to make it look more feasible to go along with the idea. She has helpped a whole lot in advice and other minor things to package this lot, including the picture for the lots. feanorknd for the initial spur of a request/Query of the idea. Tamorr, me for the Modifications and additions in the Lots only. -

Feedback and Support Please PM stardragon at ST or dragonshardz at SC4D/SimPeg if there are any issues with these lots. I will attempt to answer them to the best of my knowledge, and as quickly as possible. Updated 9/11/2008 due to uncovering of ILS (Immortal Lot Syndrome) due to misplacement of truck props, which have been removed. Updated 9/12/2008 due to lots being mislabeled as "Row Warehouse 2x". This has since been fixed. If you have downloaded these lots before 9/11/2008 it is HIGHLY recommended that you re-download and replace your previous copy! MORE INFO: These lots are intended as a companion download to Pegasus' CDK3-SP Project. The DL only includes lot files. These lots are not pirated/plagiarised. Just wanted to get the out there. -

This is a compilation of the primary CDK3-SP Seaport dependency files. If you already have the dependency files listed below, this SUPER PAK is not mandatory to support the currwent CDK3-SP lots. However, the SUPER PAK also contains a lot of new material used in many new lots & will be listed as the primary dependency for all futher CDK3-SP material. To avoid missing dependency issues, you should install this SUPER PACK and, for optimum performance, remove the dependency files it replaces listed below.I This SUPER PAK replaces the following CDK3 dependency files: 2. CDK3-SP Row Warehouses* (PEG-CDK3-SP_RowWarehouses_101.dat ) Once the CDK3-SP SEAPORT SUPER PACK is installed, you can safely remove the files listed above. IMPORTANT: The original CDK3-SP Row Warehouses file contained lots as well as dependency data. That dependency data only has been moved into the CDK3-SP SEAPORT SUPER PAK. The lot data only has been repackaged into a new file (version 1.10) which is included with this download. If you remove the original CDK3-SP Row Warehouses file, you should move the new version ( PEG-CDK3-SP_RowWarehouses_110.dat ) into the CDK3/SEAPORT/Row Warehouses folder. **This dependency has no dependencies All Pegasus files are now legacy content and are no longer officially supported - however support from the wider community can be requested here. -

This one of several resource or "dependency" files required for the new Coastal Development Kit (CDK3) industrial style. This new style is designed to add new industry specific lots to the CDK. It is not intended as a replacement for any other CDK style. The resource pack includes 2 new ship props that will be used in the various CDK3 lots. The included props are: - The S.S. Vandy general dry cargo ship. - The S.S. Trolca general dry cargo ship. ** This prop pack includes two variations of each ship. One variation has the ship offset-rendered for horizontal placement... as pictured above. The other variation has the ship offset-rendered for vertical placement...for future use on lots with piers that extend out into the water. The prop pack also includes a defined prop family for an added random effect as well as timed versions of the props for a shuffling effect. Time to get back to The Basics. This is a collection of 6, basic CDK3 lots that are quite similar to the standard CDK-IND lots. Included are an Inner Corner & Outer Corner lot, a 1x wide and a 3x wide Dock lot, a Ramp lot and a Steps lot. Like the original CDK-IND lots, you can use these lots to form a developed industrial look along your coastlines. You can use these to replace your existing CDK-IND lots, or keep both styles installed and mix them up. These new lots do not replace the older style and will appear separately in your Water Transportation Menu. All of these lots are 3 tiles deep, in contrast to the 2 tile deep CDK-IND lots. This extra depth includes a dirt service road that runs behind all lots and helps tie them together visually. The 3x wide Dock Lot provides jobs and is transit enabled for a street connection. The Inner Corner lot also is transit enabled for street connections but does not have jobs... so providing road access is optional. Although designed for use along a coastline and partially plopped in the water, these lots can also be used on dry land and look pretty darn good when placed next to railroad lines. * These lots require the PEG-CDK3 Resource Pack 1 and the PEG-CDK3 Vehicles Pack 1 dependency files. This is the primary resource or "dependency" file required for the new Coastal Development Kit (CDK3) industrial style. This new style is designed to add new industry specific lots to the CDK. It is not intended as a replacement for any other CDK style. The resource pack includes 44 custom props that will be used in the various CDK3 lots which are designed to add functionality & productivity to your coastlines as well a new, industrial appearance. Although lower than the established CDK-IND lots (2 meters versus 3 meters), the CDK3 lots can be easily mixed and matched with the CDK-IND lots as well as other CDK styles. This resource pack along with the other CDK3 prop packs also serves as a "development kit" for those who want to make their own, CDK3-ish lots in the Lot Editor. Once installed, all of the CDK3 props will appear in the Lot Editor prop list where you can use them as you wish. This is a RESOURCE file for CDKM (Marina) and other CDK lots. It contains 51 new props in total... of which 30 are new, custom BAT models. Many of these boat models were combined into other larger prop models that were used in the initial CDKM Marina lots. You do not need this file for those lots. * Players and developers may use these props on their own lots... subject to the terms of the EULA that is documented in the included readme file. No real harbor could be complete without the classic commercial fishing marina... and Captain Jack's Landing is the fisherman's choice for putting in and selling the day's catch. Its all there... from the smell and feel of the salt spray to the splat of dump duck doo-doo on your shoulder. Captain Jack's has all the look and feel of a bustling commercial fishing port. The 6x6 lot (6x2 land imprint) is a full blown CDK3 lot requiring almost all of the CDK3 dependencies. Its an industrial manufacturing lot with plenty of jobs and income generated from taxes. Like any marina, its a tad on the dirty side... but nothing you can't handle. The lot also benefits your city... much as a seaport does. Where a seaport helps to promote industrial growth, the commercial marina helps promote commercial growth. Its a little bit lot... and a little bit reward... all rolled up into one. In addition to these features, the lot also includes: -Random cargo that shuffles throughout the day. -Random truck traffic that shuffles throughout the day. -Random fishing trawlers that come and go throughout the day. -A modular design that allows you to place the lots seamlessly side-by-side to create marinas as large as you want. -Transit enabled driveways for realistic, connected entrances. -Christmas lighting during the Holiday season. (game time) The lot is located in the Water Transportation menu along with the other CDK3 lots. The lot requires many of the CDK3 dependencies... most of which are available both on the LEX and the STEX. * No real fish were harmed in the development of this lot. The lobsters however... which are not technically a "fish"... were delicious. For help creating the perfect terrain for CDK lots, we strongly recommend reading The Official CDK Tutorial. ** This lot requires the following dependencies PEG-CDK3 Resource Pack1 PEG-CDK3 The Basics PEG-CDK3 Vehicle Pack 1 PEG-CDK3 TrawlersPack 1 All Pegasus files are now legacy content and are no longer officially supported - however support from the wider community can be requested here. -

Fuerta De Pego is a landmark add-on to the Puerta De Pego historic Coastal Fort. It can be plopped next to the fort or on either or both sides. It can also beplopped alone as an historic, small coastal battery. This "fuerta" (fort) is a landmark... similar in price and properties to the Alamo landmark. As the Puerta De Pego main fort is a museum, this add-on had to be something else. If you plop 2 or, God forbid, 3 museums next to each other, you get the School Bus Traffic Jam from Hell. So landmark was the obvious choice. Like the Puerta De Pego main fort, this add on coastal battery is technically a CDK 3 lot. However, it also does not requre the CDK3 to be installed and itcan be plopped on dry land. Both forts look quite good hanging over cliffs as hill top fortresses. ** This lot can also be plopped on dry land and used with the PEG Canals, Ponds and Streams. ** This lot requires the PEG-CDK3 Puerta De Pego lot to be installed. The "fuerta" (fort) at Puerta (port) De Pego has long been renowned as one of the few surviving, classic examples of 16th-17th century coastal forts that were commonly built in the Mediterranean & New World. Built primarily to protect coastal cities from attack by sea, they were monolithic structures designed to withstand massive barrages from ship-born solid cannon shot while keeping marauding ships at bay with a vast arsenal of their own cannon. In time, many methods were developed by marauders and invading fleets to circumvent the forts and attack the protected cities. And with the development of exploding shot for cannons, the reign of the masonry coastal forts was doomed. Puerta De Pego is unique in that it has survived the ravages of time and assault almost fully intact. With a grant from the Pegadyne Corporation, the fort has been fully restored to its original magnificence and is one of the most popular local museums, landmarks and tourist attractions. This lot is a Museum comparable to a game-default museum in all properties and costs. It has an increased landmark value and also promotes your Mayoral rating. It is a CDK3 lot... designed to plopped on the coast over the water. However, it does not require installation of the CDK3 and can also be plopped on dry land, either flat or overhanging a cliff. ** This lot can also be plopped on dry land and used with the PEG Canals, Ponds and Streams. ** This lot requires the PEG OFMN Mod if you wish to display the flag of your choice. Acme Algae... in operation since 1968 when, then Hippy, Alvin Aberrant read somewhere that the scum that kept forming on the top of his fish pond apparently had many commercial uses. Not one to pass up an opportunity to profit from a process involving no physical labor whatsoever, Alvin was off to the races and has become a leading supplier of pond scum... commercially know as Algae. Very few consumers are actually aware of how much algae they consume & use on a daily basis. Algae, in one form or another, is a key ingredient in many consumers products. Brush your teeth... then spit & rinse away the algae. Wash your hair... then rinse and repeat out the algae. Its in your cosmetics, lotions, toiletries... and yes, even in your food. Algae is a major ingredient in feeds for pets and livestock. Its also used in dyes... and as a major element in bio-filters that are used to scrub the CO2 out of factory and power plant smoke stacks. Algae has almost unlimited commercial uses... and more are being developed and discovered every day. The Acme Algae facility uses a revolutionary new process (that I just made up) where powerful lights have been added to the inside of the tanks to increase the photosynthesis process to 24/7... and to allow the algae to grow throughout the tanks; not just at the surface. Obviously, this increases both the speed of the process and the resulting volume of product substantially. The Acme Algae facility is a CDK3 ploppable lot with I-R (farming) jobs. The lot is located in the Water Transportation menu along with the other CDK3 lots. The single lot file contains all required custom material so the lot can be used without installing the CDK3. ** This lot has no external dependencies. ** This lot can be plopped on dry land and looks particularly good when plopped over-hanging a short cliff or slope. As vast as the oceans are, they still do not contain enough fish to sustain man's ever-expanding appetite. Commercial fish farms are the planet's best hope to feed its citizens while preventing the natural fish supply from being depleted. The age old profession of fisherman is being replaced by the equally as old profession of farmer. Although commonly referred to as "fish farms, they are technically fish ranches. Like cattle or sheep, fish are bred in captivity and harvested for food. And being grown in a controlled environment, they have no natural predators and are protected from diseases and pollutants that could reduce their numbers. The costs of maintaining the fish and farms is more than offset by the reduced cost of harvesting. No expensive fishing fleets to purchase and maintain. No excessive use of petrol fuels consumed while trolling the oceans in search of fish. No risk of losing boats and crews to storms and other nautical dangers. Plus... no freakin' Greenpeace rubber boats to "accidentally" run over. This lot is s standard CDK3 lot that is 4x6 tiles in size. The lot must be plopped out over the water... with either 2 or 3 rows of tiles on dry land. It provides Industrial Resource (farming) jobs in areas where that normally would not be possible. The lot is located in the Water Transportation menu along with the other CDK3 lots. The single lot file contains all required custom material so the lot can be used without installing the CDK3. ** This lot has no dependencies. The CDK3 Garbage dock (aka.. Sanitation Department Product Disposal Facility) uses a new cutting edge technology to get rid of your city's trash. Ok, ok... it actually uses an "over-the-edge" technology pioneered with the Pegadyne Garbage Chute. The garbage scows haul the trash out to "The Edge" and, like the chute, simply toss it over the side. You can pretend that the scows are actually hauling the trash off to neighboring city, per some garbage deal you may have. Or you can even imagine that the trash to taken to a high-tech, state of the art & environmentally safe refuse elimination facility. But we all know they are just dumping it into the Abyss. In order to keep the cost of disposing of your garbage as low as possible, the Sanitation Department has reduced overhead by eliminating unnecessary & expensive items...such as maintenance. This is most evident in the facility's four garbage scows, the S.S. POS... the S.S. Poo... the S.S. Tetanus... and the S.S. Chum. The 2 lots (4x3 & 8x5) are functional garbage removal facilities... hybrids of a standard landfill and trash incinerator. They will appear in the Garbage Utilities Menu. Like the Garbage Chute, your city's garbage trucks will bring trash to them. The trucks will even drive slowly through the lot as if stopping to dump trash. Where a landfill stores your trash until it is filled up, these lots will hold it just long enough to dispose of it. The 4x3 lot disposes of 500 tons of trash per month... which is double the rate (and cost) of the Garbage Chute. The 8x5 lot, which also has a rail connection, disposes of 1,000 tons of trash per month. If your city produces less than the capacities of these lots, then they will eliminate all of it. Otherwise, you will need more than one of these lots... or a landfill or trash deal to handle the excess. Use of recycling facilities and environmental ordinances can significantly reduce the amount of trash your city produces. * If you do not have adequate facilities to handle all of your city's trash, the excess will build up, eventually becoming visible in your city and greatly reduce wealth & desirability. About The Custom Query... The lots contain a custom query that displays all of your city's garbage stats. Near the top, the number of tons of garbage the dock is processing is displayed. This figure is updated several times throughout the month, even when the query window is open. The City Wide Stats displayed in the middle area of the query window are primarily the stats for the previous month as the stats only get calculated by the game at the end of each month. The Total Uncollected Garbage stat is also updated each month, but is not a monthly figure. It reflects the total amount of garbage in your city that you could not process in some manner. Keep an eye on this statistic. If it grows, you have a potential crisis on your hands and will need to expand your garbage processing capabilities. The ideal number for this stat is Zero!! * The Garbage Processed stat reflects all the garbage that was processed by any Waste to Energy plants, the Garbage Chutes and, of course, the Garbage Docks. * The Bodies Found statistic is a calculated indicator of the efficiency of your law enforcement. The Vandy Shipping Company has been bringing your industrial goods to market since anyone can remember. Everywhere you look, Vandy trucks are chugging by with a load of cargo going somewhere. Peer out into the harbor and you are sure to see at least one of their cargo ships loading local freight for transport to some distant port in the region or beyond. This is the first of the new CDK3 industrial lots and its loaded to the hilt with every goodie we can pack onto it. Its a ploppable IND-D lot with jobs... transit enabled for street connections... and packed with shuffling props that move, come and go throughout the day. The lot features 2 new ships models, the S.S. Trolca (pictured above) and the company's flagship, the S.S. Vandy. You will see both of these sturdy vessels tied up to the dock at different times. The various cargos and trucks are all random props... and also shuffle throughout the day... generally winding down and disappearing in the evening. The warehouses are not "nite-lited" to reduce model size and resources... but they are illuminated at night by little elves with flashlights that we hired to hide inside them. You can't see them but trust me... they're in there. This lot requires 3 fairly large dependency files... which are: - PEG-CDK3 Resource Pack 1 - PEG-CDK3 Ship Pack 1 - PEG-CDK3 Vehicle Pack 1 This may seem like a lot... and yes, you could say this lot has "dependency issues"... although I personally wouldn't because its an awfully bad joke. But keep in mind that this is the first lot of a whole new CDK style and those dependencies contain the core components and props that will be used by many, many new lots. * The dependency files are available in the CDK section of the PLEX. All Pegasus files are now legacy content and are no longer officially supported - however support from the wider community can be requested here.
