This is the model of a 2.4 MW onshore wind turbine based on a Nordex N117 Gamma©. It has a rotor diameter of 117m and at a hub height of 141m (for these specific models I made). Whereas the N117 comes in different power ratings, this turbine is part of the Gamma class and slightly smaller than the Delta class. The cool thing about this turbine is that in the centre of the hub in the front is a window that allows you a nice view when working in there. It is used as an emergency exit from the hub at the same time (yes, you do have to rappel down the turbine) Content This File contains four wind power plant lots with the same turbine type at different rotor positions, with a small transformer station next to the turbine. The production is set to 2400 and the O&M costs are 100$ per month. One turbine is undergoing maintenance and has no power output and zero budget impact. This is the model of a 2 MW onshore wind turbine based on a Vestas V80©. It has a rotor diameter of 80m and at a hub height of 90m (for these specific models I made). The V80 has now been replaced by the V90 in the 2MW platform of Vestas’ fleet, but I decided to create this model, since it is so widely distributed. Vestas is one of the biggest manufacturers of wind turbines worldwide and has been in the wind industry for over 30 years. More info about this model can be found here and more info about the 2MW platform here. Content This File contains four wind power plant lots with the same turbine type at different rotor positions. The production is set to 2000 and the O&M costs are 90$ per month. Therefore, it is slightly less cost efficient than the newer V126 I published. One turbine is undergoing maintenance and has no power output and zero budget impact. She's gonna be an absolute beauty... Should I add the vortex generators to the blades? (the little triangles with the dirt dragged behind)

What a unique idea! Great stuff!

Hi @iannnavas, always good to hear more poeple want to get into creating new content. I am using gmax to create all my models combined with plugin manager, PIM and LotEditor - so all the free stuff. After some learning I get along with it quite well, and most problems can be solved with the help of the sc4 community. If you want to start learning gmax (with or without background knowledge of other 3d programms) I highly recomment to follow some of these old youtube gems:
  7. CHAPTER 14 -- THE TORPEDO BOATS

Excellent CJ, it’s great how you weave naval history into sc4. Little is more impressive than a well-organized fleet formation and the complexity and effectiveness of each vessel with their crew on battle stations. I appreciate more people being able to experience a glimpse of that through your CJ! Thanks very much!
  8. Entry 81 -- Pratchit's Top and the village of Kingsley

looks REALLY great, may I ask what you are using to create the paths, rock fields and these shrubs in between? I wish my mountain areas would look half as good as yours, what you created there is very inspiering

These are some more SimWorkers to bring a little bit of action to your lots. This 5th pack contains 4 different groups of Sims: • 6 Forestry Workers • 6 AirPort Personnel • 6 FlightDeck Personnel • 6 WindTurbine Technicians Content This File contains one .dat-file with 24 different props and one .dat-file organizing the models as MMPs: Forestry Workers • A_1P_ForestryWorker#1_sawing • A_1P_ForestryWorker#2_chopping • A_1P_ForestryWorker#3_saw • A_1P_ForestryWorker#4_sitting • A_1P_ForestryWorker#5_axe • A_1P_ForestryWorker#6_trunk AirPort Personnel • A_1P_AirportPersonnel#1_luggage • A_1P_AirportPersonnel#2_luggage • A_1P_AirportPersonnel#3_parkingX • A_1P_AirportPersonnel#4_parkingU • A_1P_AirportPersonnel#5_standing • A_1P_AirportPersonnel#6_walking FlightDeck Personnel • A_1P_FlightDeckPersonnel#1_liftoff • A_1P_FlightDeckPersonnel#2_signallingT • A_1P_FlightDeckPersonnel#3_signallingN • A_1P_FlightDeckPersonnel#4_carrying nozzle • A_1P_FlightDeckPersonnel#5_standing • A_1P_FlightDeckPersonnel#6_running WindTurbine Technicians • A_1P_WindTurbineTech#1_standing • A_1P_WindTurbineTech#2_carrying • A_1P_WindTurbineTech#3_inspecting • A_1P_WindTurbineTech#4_working • A_1P_WindTurbineTech#5_walking • A_1P_WindTurbineTech#6_kneeling Dependencies • none Instructions To use the props the content must be placed on your lot using a lot-editor! Unzip and place in (work-) plugin folder, place in plugin folder once used in a lot file, eg.: C:\Users\<USER>\Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins To use the MMPs both .dat-files must be stored in your plugin folder. Note I have set the height of the Sims to 2.3m + PPE (personal protective equipment). Therefor they are more realistic in size compared to other small props like cars etc. They are a little smaller than the standard Maxis Sim.

This is the model of a 3.45 MW onshore wind turbine based on a Vestas V126©. It has a rotor diameter of 126m and at a hub height of 117m (for these specific models I made). It comes in tower heights up to 149m. Vestas is one of the biggest manufacturers of wind turbines worldwide and has been in the wind industry for over 30 years. This specific turbine is designed for IEC wind class II with high turbulence intensity and makes a typical onshore turbine. It is very reliable and efficient – one of my favourite turbines. More info can be found here. Content This File contains four wind power plant lots with the same turbine type at different rotor positions. The production is set to 3450 and the O&M costs are 140$ per month. One turbine is undergoing a rotor blade inspection and has no power output and zero budget impact. 13. Lot - Resources / Help

These items are only listed in the flora section not the prop section. Thanks for the hint about the seasonal flora patch... I didn't have that one in my test plugin folder. However I added it now and it is still not working, interesting.
  14. Lot - Resources / Help

Can someone tell my why the flora I place on a lot is not showing up? Maybe anything about being seasonal? Can somebody recommend some nice shrubs or low vegetataion?
  15. KK Transformer Manufacturing Plant

definitely gonna go into my wind industry port area!
  16. That's it, great stuff! Just wanted to assure that the plazer can click things behind the tower and the rotor star more easily. The giant LOD box that was used before made that impossible.
  17. @Jasoncw I have one last question regarding the fitted LODs... how to do that properly This is obviously not how: I guess I need to know the naming convention? or does it need to be one giant mesh that I form around it?
  18. Lot - Resources / Help

Phew ... understood, it sounds like something I do not want to get into and waste dozens of evenings trying to make it work😅 My idea was to kind of create a whole industry sector, meaning you need several production facilities before you can build a wind turbine. But that would not be feasable for small rural tiles and I would have wanted to make sure there is one production line in the region and that enables the player to use the content...

  20. Lot - Resources / Help

Hi everyone, I was looking into the idea of creating content that needs other content to be placed in the game to be unlocked for the player. So basically a rewards chain. I understood that this is done by adding a LUA file to my lot that holds the conditions for the reward to be unlocked. (described in this tutorial) I was wondering if it possible to apply the building count to the region and not just to the city tile the player is currently playing on. I beleive the following line is used to check how many buildings of a certain type exist: sc4game.automata.get_source_building_count Maybe @RobertaME can answer this, I saw you are working on a bigger project...

What do you think? worth making a few different blade positions and publishing? My already published offshore turbine for comparison (offshore turbines can use lower hub heights since the wind at sea is steadier due to less obstacles) one of my favorite turbines by the way
