Yeah unfortunately, we can't remove NAM from hinted acronym and I agree with that. And I'm aware that some players wouldn't know NAM until later times, including myself and you. But that's a minority these days thanks to abundance of SC4 infos online. But I do wish we can spell CAM (with lowercase) as such instead of CAM that we have today.
  2. NAM General Support

Nope since it's just a path curved into lower Y axis (aka going downhill). It still preserves capacity and for some network, boosting it since there's something called Distilled Intersection Points (DIP), around 25% higher.
  3. Definitely, yeah. It really does refer to the Nitelite Update aka EP1 aka 638/640 patch. If you have the disc version, you have to update to EP1 to get night light. Which also means that if you have digital version, which is 641, you don't need that since it includes 640 plus (I can't say that thing or otherwise, I broke the rules) removal (and for Steam version, adding their own solution). So it's completely irrelevant today. It's also the same reason why you won't see nightlight on macOS SC4 since it doesn't get the nitelite update.
  4. Yup, but as long as you make a backup of your plugins, it's safe. Just delete the whole of Network Addon Mod folder if you want to uninstall it. Then, run the .jar again to install it with hopefully the same configuration, just without traffic view. The more you stick to the default when you first installing NAM, the easier to remember the settings.

That's why we can switch handedness even if we established the city since all paths can be changed retroactively. Also, a bit unrelated but I heard that you can remove the NAM controller in a city where RHW is already present. NAM controller has paths, right? Are Rul codes and paths different things?
  6. I identified the first image either as or And the second image as Both of which requires and You may also need PEG Terrain Kit: PEG Lakeside Resort (for resort): PEG MTP Bus Stop (for bus stop): Village Church St Bartholomews (church), not found since SC4D is shut down. Dunno if @Tyberius06 has recovered the file or not. PEG MTP Mountain Trails: Hope it helps!

Not to be that guy lol and seriously, there are a lot of first time player who know nothing, but is NAM literally the gate to SC4? I mean, no one is going to install SC4 without installing NAM or at least know NAM really is, even for people who are completely new to the game. There's a reason why NAM is so popular at ModDB, STEX, and LEX (or Evermore these days) in the first place. Also, there are many tutorials on YouTube what NAM is or what's the function of it, all thanks to creators and the NAM team. And I don't think NAM stands for something else other than the mod for network additions. Finally, as a testament to how popular the NAM really is, the NAM documentation has been cited and translated to different communities, from Polska to SFBT to even SimCityChina and SimCity Kaskus. And also, in any exchange (sanctioned by the NAM team), the listings for NAM always include the full name. It's not just NAM, it also includes CAM too. The only time NAM is just referred as an acronym is for the park and ride plugin and obsolete mods. There's no time when the NAM listing is only titled as 'NAM.' It's always been 'Network Addon Mod' or 'Network Addon Mod (NAM)' or variations of it. So, it's clearly obvious what NAM stands for when you're downloading NAM in the first place, except if you download it directly, which is pretty rare, or unofficially (you know, that stuff that breaks the site rules). Even unofficial sources almost always list NAM with its full name. And again, it's true for all communities since the mod is so popular. It's unlike SFBT or WRC where you have to dig up thru the manuals or worse, figure out on your own to only find more acronyms. I also hate why CAM is also an abbreviation. Well, I don't really hate it's a hinted acronym. But, thanks to its word to be hinted, everything that has a word 'CAM' (note that I spell it lowercase when making this reply) is capitalized as an acronym, even if it means otherwise. For instance, some may call the 3D camera mod as the 3D CAM, which afaik will be uppercased by ST right after posting a content, even including one instance in the homepage's Features. Ironically, I probably contributed to all of this mess thanks to my own posts on SC4's acronyms, borrowed from SimCity Kaskus. It's still up on the forum iirc.

@Tyberius06 and @CorinaMarie, can this file be recovered? Or is this a completely lost media?
  9. Woah, the change is that quick!
  10. ideas Site Suggestion Box

NAM shouldn't be a hinted acronym since we use that term a lot, similar to SC4.
  11. No, it's fine. It's just you installed NAM, like most of us. NAM adds tons of improvement to the traffic view, including RHW being colored as such. If you don't want it, just uncheck the RHW Regional Transport Map Plugin option when you (re)installing NAM.
  12. Random Map

    Actually good!
  13. Tasmania

Great map! Would use it for my project!
  14. Extended Terrain DLL

Really good plugin. I wonder how can I use this?

If you can revamp the UI further, I'd put the city name, neutral tax, and total revenue into a dedicated field. BSC probably only designed the UI for the original purpose, which is okay, till there are many flaws with the information given and the UI was changed. Anyway, still decently tidy.
  16. Probably he's added a script and CSS to block unwanted mouse input, especially text selection. It's pretty useful when used in structural elements like navbar but it's debatable for things like in this case, package title. He should consider allow text selection there. There also a possibility that Electron enables such setting and he has to disable it in order to allow it in certain parts. He uses Flutter btw so ignore that.
  17. It eventually allowed pressing Enter while editing. But it's only on Reader v1.5 and up, arguably the worst Reader you can use for its job since it corrupts data often.
  18. hmmmm... what is this? I also found so many references to the old UI and a quite different advisor for some reason.
  19. Introduce Yourself Here!

Don't forget to install this little mod if you want a perfect screenshot. As for the scrolling issue, I don't know any mod that solves that.
  20. Under the Bridge Project

Do you have solved the problem now? And are there differences between this and the @smf_16 method technically?
  21. Show us What you're Working On

Finally the mod I really need. I know, it's pretty hard to get demand at 20%, let alone more. But there are large cities that can host some demand even in really high tax regime, especially dirty industry and low wealth residential. And it works. In case you need it, here we go.
  22. Commuters from/to SimNation

Yes, it's even included in the CAM installer itself. It's called the I-R Patch (only). You can select that when you're installing CAM and with that, you can have the patch while not installing the CAM.
  23. Reykjavik, Iceland

    Snowy Christmas!

As a guy with literally 10M+ population region (and done it multiple times, mind you), I still can't wrap this thing up especially after the turn of the topic to something more serious. I know what's cap, demand, extrapolation, etc (and yes, I read and understand the Prima guide). And yet, I'm still feeling very little in this regard. I don't know if this is just a Dunning-Kruger or whatever, but that's literally what I'm feeling. I even bought up the idea of extrapolation is lost forever, to the point I realized 10% of the city growth every time, to turn out to be not completely true. Again, I have so many new knowledge with this topic. I never felt so little in life before this topic, literally. Anyways, may I ask, can you summarize what've happened in the topic? Preferably in a simpler and tidier language. Like seriously, I just want to catch up. And before you said, "Well, read it first," I did. It's just I have so many questions than answers.
