  1. Show us What you're Working On

Looks very good! The city is pretty well done and the MMP's complement it a lot. I love the reflectors at the freeway, as a suggestion, I would use acceleration and deceleration lanes on the exits, though it's something more personal (here in Spain are in almost every exit, though in other countries is different) Have a nice day ^^! Ehehe you are the fusion between Pepe and Pedro Rodriguez xD Thanks, here in Portugal it is also the same, i will add them latter... I found the current RHW a bit irrealistic comparing to what is used in our countries. For example, at the borders of the road, we usually have "raides", i don't know the term in english, they are protection for cars that may go out of the road. And in the middle, we usualy have an separator...
  2. Show us What you're Working On

Trying to add MMP's to a urban/suburban environment. Suggestions?
  3. Chingteng-Nakata Metropolitan Area

No i didn't lot them. Unfortunately my Lot Editor doesn't open! I don't know why :S...I needed to do some parks like the one's that Art uses (IRM IM$$ filler with some green), but i am stuck because i have no clue LOL. They are in Uki site if i am not wrong. I cannot search through the site now, but i can link you, and you will find there and you will also find some amazing things there http://uki-sim.seesaa.net/ Thanks
  4. Chingteng-Nakata Metropolitan Area

Hi guys! I have decided to do a new region, Hyōgo (兵庫県): it is to the west of Chingteng Nakata, and i have choosen the Ring of Fire map. Here are some pics from the city of Fukuoka (福岡市). It is in the transition between a small city near the river and the countryside. They are just some teasers anyway: A commercial street with a small patium: A park in front of that commercial street: Contrasts between old and new commerce near the main train station of this city tile: A park near the cannal: Bambo forest and transition to standard forest: Thanks and feedback me! Two questions: a) How to change the topic name? b) How to use the Lot Editor?
  5. Show us What you're Working On

Guys thanks! That was probably the error, since in a new tile (more even) they work just fine
  6. Show us What you're Working On

Been working on a small rural town. Anyone has a fix to this problem?
  7. Can't find it?... Ask here!

Guys, I need help: need to find the grey paths on this picture. Picture is from Fasan Krokanien Mayor Journal at SC4Dev. Please, i really need them
  8. Chingteng-Nakata Metropolitan Area

Thanks! There are a bunch of japanese/chinese/korean sites, and although they are somehow hard to navigate, the results are fantastic! I don't edit neither lot... My lot editor (maxis one) doesn't open!!! But can you give me more details to where do you find i will win by editing? Between what buildings? Im really a $%&^! concerning that LOL xD
  9. Show us your Downtown!

I would them add some midrises from those architectural styles.. Also, just an opinion, i would demolish the tallest tower and comples (right of the pic). ehehe I demolished the sports complex. Didnt look fine imo. The park is still there xD I don't know but i guess i have a rail slope mod... Hm, that sounds familiar. However, in this case the rail bridge is unrealistic anyway. Rail is FAR more slope-sensitive than road traffic, therefore you'd never see rail climbing up a dam only to cross a road, and then descend to ground level again. What you'll see there is a simple road overpass/underpass over/under a level railroad track. If conditions are difficult, I sometimes like to raise one of the two crossing networks by a bit and lower the other one by a bit to achieve the necessary crossing height. However, this shouldn't be necessary here. It is really hard!!! But you guys are right, its unrealistic, and ive changed it already I really love the theme of the buildings! A great intersection there too. Echo the sentiments on the rail over road. In many congested areas the grade crossing is redesigned to a road under rail to alleviate the dangers. This was especially the case in my hometown of Fresno, where one of the main avenues in the city intersected a mainline rail--after several serious collisions and unfortunate fatalities, they redesigned it. Here's how it looks now: Road under rail, i think today i've downlloaded something that may be helpfull... Lets see Thanks
  10. Show us your Industrial Areas!

Looks really legit! I love the image editing...outside of some more vegitation to break up the asphalt/concrete jungle (which is natural for the area) I can't think of anything to recommend right now... Thanks Gviper! I usually use trees, but this particular spot isnt done yet.
  11. Chingteng-Nakata Metropolitan Area

But i have changed the sidewalk mod today, just a bit lighter...

    Is it here? http://www5.pf-x.net/~gobanboshi/
  13. Chingteng-Nakata Metropolitan Area

Thanks. It is a small CBD, but well, I feel that this should be a smaller city, like a suburb.
  14. How To Make Beautiful Cities?

A bunch of good advices in this thread. Let me add some advices also: - Mix areas. Planned cities have clear boundaries between residential, industrial and commercial. But more organic cities don't have those boundaries at least as clear as a planned city. Then, mixing comercial and residential buildings is fine. Mixing industrial (manufacturing, HT) and commercial and residential is also fine. - I know a lot of users are giving some advice to build reliying on an american/australian model. While this may be a good advice if you want to have a realistic american/australian city, you can also build things more organically. Just see, for example, pictures of modern chinese cities. Yes, they are skyscraper jungles sometimes. Does that make them ugly? Not in my opinion. - Use mainly MMP's for agriculture and rural areas. - Use NAM, and in urban areas (although I think NAM could be used very effectively), use project symphony. - Plop, Plop, Plop. Its easier imo. - Use a wide variety of buildings, understand that you will never achive a variety of buildings as it is represented even by a very small city. Then, this underlines the need for variety. There are some buildings from diferent areas to download. For example, Shanghai has "european" buildings in real life. So you can have an asian city with european buildings. - Look around you in real life, or search pictures at skyscrapercity or tumblr/flickr. I can't stress enough the importance of this. Just let it flow mainly. Oh and use FAR and a lot of curves. Use also PEG parks or MMP's Parks.
  15. Chingteng-Nakata Metropolitan Area

Work in progress already spamed on other threads. Just south of Rhioto: Thanks
  16. Show us your Parks!

  17. Show Us Your Suburbs

Work in progress, very hard to do to me imo:
  18. Show us your Downtown!

Downtown of a city near Akuraku. Work in progress and also posted in City Journal. I need suggestions and criticism, thanks
  19. Show us your Industrial Areas!

(Some pictures are also posted on other threads, and in my City Journal) Industrial area (well its really mixed lol), work in progress: Overall view: A textil industry (i guess loool), and a business being closed between shareholders: An animal food industry complex, with some close ups, including a smoke break for the workers: A Coca Cola complex, with some close ups, including a truck being load with cargo by some machinery: A busy road, near the industrial complex police station and some KFC and McDonalds where workers eat, wall to wall with the Coca Cola plant: Would welcome suggestions and criticism
  20. Show us What you're Working On

(Also poste on my city journal) I am working on a tile that I intend to be basically an industrial city in Akuraku city, with some suburbs and a small downtown. All plopped, with traffic being eye candy and artificially generated. So far: Overview: Downtown (will have more trees and small Residential and Commerce): Residential area (will probably fill the gap between the buildings with the industry fillers): Park and sport complex area (still need to work on an MMP texture and some rocks and stuff): Manufacturing Industry and some Residentials (I need to fill in with nature, and probably add some more lowrise residentials and commerce along the roads): Residential block (need to fill in with some trees and industry fillers): Agriculture near the above area (need to work with more MMPs obviously): Thanks, and i would really welcome suggestions and criticism. This forum nowadays seems quiet, lets cheer it up a little bit
  21. Ben's Top Ten +10

Why no more top 10 Ben?
  22. Show us your Nature!

It looks good, but i would make three small alterations: a) I would use HD trees, it would give the image more quality. b) In the pile of gravel, you can always add some gravel in the ground, for it to blend more nicely. c) In those big rocks, you can add some smaller rocks around them (sparsing imo). That said, I liked it, and camps do look like that.
  23. My SC4 CJ Scrapbook | Important update and news!

Lnx splendid, and sorry, but I will have to copy those little alleys concept and incorporate it into my game. Its amazing.
  24. The Viceroyalty of Perseus - Teaser!

Again (since i am doing an industrial zone and i was looking for inspiring stuff, and here I find it), very cool industrial area. Just two things: Where do you find those lightpulps that you plop? I think your areas will gain a lot from some plopable persons. They give some movement to the factories imo, just sayin.
  25. st challenges Best Picture Competition

That's strange now i see it lol.. Ln X - 6 Cool_Z - 0 It was a tuff decision, but Ln X pic is more realistic imo because of the camera angle.
