  1. Hello! I am having a problem with ploppable japanese rice fields/farms. I've downloaded one pack from Neko (which appears in the hospital's menu) and another one (i can't recall who've made it or the name of it) that appears in the parks menu. So, when i plop those, they appear like this (Neko is the one on the left). Can somebody tell me what i am missing? Thanks
  2. Hi! I have decided to start a city journal for several reasons: first of all, it is my desire to show my work and to get some feedback, in order to improve my game; secondly, a thread like this one will keep me motivated in working in one region, instead of restarting regions again and again; finally, i may be able to help some other players who are looking for some bats, and getting myself helped with some doubts and other subjects instead of creating a new topic everyday. Unlike some other cityjournals that are awesome (Tonraq, for example, which is a big inspiration), i will not use storytelling. Well, the Region that i will use is poshbakerloo's The Grand Valley (which you can find here: ).In the right side of the map, i will be inspired by japanese cities, and in the left, by chinese ones. However, since the amount of asian buildings its not very high, some architectonical characteristics of the cities may overlapp. Although this may be true, i will start with a main characteristic of chinese cities (at least from my point of view) as a differentiation factor: repeated residential mid rises and highrises (like the ones made by HKBT). Let's see in the future if i can diferentiate the two areas in other ways. I am mixing a growing style with a plopping one. This has some disadvantages (i would be glad to hear some advices regarding this), but at least i don't get burned out in a particular city (since i have some different work to do there) and my computer won't be very slow i hope. Another problem that i have to solve is the inexistence of lights in my cities (lol), but let's first develop the region a bit I also want some advice regarding traffic simulator mods, to see if my rhw is fully functional. Finally i have downloaded photoscape but i am a newbie at it, so don't expect, at least for now, some brilliant photoshops This first city is still being developed. The name of it is Akaraku, and it is a suburban japanese city near the river coast. Today i can just post some close shots from a neighborhood, and i hope next week or something i can post a overall view of the city. This photo captures one of Akaraku's school, with a nearby hospital, a residential mid rise and some residential houses Here, there are some residentials, with a religious building (honestly don't know if it is a cemetery or a standard praying building :S) in a lake (next pic). This is an artificial lake, with some strange beaches and some nice trees. These next three pics capture a comercial area with some agriculture nearby and with a temple and a nearby highway. An older comercial area with some residential buildings: Some developments in the main avenue of this area:

Hi Guys! First of all thanks for the feedback on the November post! I did not play SimCity for the last several months, since now I have a job, and I am working on my Master's Thesis and, therefore, I feel that Sim City would take away a lot of precious time of me. But I am very happy that there are new stuff to use in the game, and hopefully will be playing it in the Summer or so... I would post this same thing on SC4 Devotion but I forgot the password :S:S Good Luck with your games! See ya.

Very nice! And shout my name!!! xD

Underrated post, I love the scene. I know how much effort and attention to detail these things require. Maybe some motorhomes would still complement it, this looks like the sort of place where they'd show up. Been meaning to ask you before, but what MMPs are you using for dirt and gravel pathways and the like? They seem to be a lot more precise and tolerant than what I'm using at the moment. Thanks! I had motorhomes on the previous pics. This spot is supposed to be the entrance to the park... I am still working on the "camping" per se part. But anyway, some motorhomes would also look nice there, you do have a point and thanks for the suggestions Found it: https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/29426-franku-heblem-sand-addon/ Is it this one?
  6. Merica!

Hi guys! I need some help: i am a little burned from building asian style cities. I want to build an American region. Questions: some bat/mod/wreva suggestions? Questions: If i remove everything from the plugins will I be able to paste those files there latter?
  7. Merica!

I want to thank again! Because although i did not start this yet, you guys made life very easier. Thanks, Thanks, and Thanks again!
  8. Show us What you're Working On

I have been working on this camping park... Some suggestions? I don't really like the house :S:S:S. Do you guys have a more japanese house to use here, that would be coherent with the overall scene? ---- Thanks!
  9. INTRODUCTION

My favourite picture is the first. The watter MMP's are very nicely done. Congratz and keep it up!
  10. First SimPeg, now SC4Devotion? :(

I can go there in Internet Explorer, not on google chrome. Strange :S
  11. First SimPeg, now SC4Devotion? :(

Well I have done it, but it still doesn't work... Neither one of the two adresses.
  12. First SimPeg, now SC4Devotion? :(

Vershner how do we do that? That is, how do we add those lines?
  13. First SimPeg, now SC4Devotion? :(

Well I can acess, for example, the PIMX support thread, although images do not appear, and when I try to click a random link, such as "forum" or "login", it gives me the same 404 error. And I am browsing with Hola from Sweden, since _B can access the site.
  14. First SimPeg, now SC4Devotion? :(

Thanks Art! Now we rest assured!

You should use NAM and FAR, because from what i can tell, you have a natural talent to road layout! Keep it up!
  18. Merica!

I honestly think it can be better (and it will for sure), but it is just a fantastic and very creative concept! Hope to see it when it is done

Ok sorry, but i think we are freezing this thread anyway. The number of votes is way too big in my opinion.

Looks very good! The city is pretty well done and the MMP's complement it a lot. I love the reflectors at the freeway, as a suggestion, I would use acceleration and deceleration lanes on the exits, though it's something more personal (here in Spain are in almost every exit, though in other countries is different) Have a nice day ^^! Ehehe you are the fusion between Pepe and Pedro Rodriguez xD Thanks, here in Portugal it is also the same, i will add them latter... I found the current RHW a bit irrealistic comparing to what is used in our countries. For example, at the borders of the road, we usually have "raides", i don't know the term in english, they are protection for cars that may go out of the road. And in the middle, we usualy have an separator... If you refer to the steel things called "Guardarraíles" in Spanish, I think the proper transaltion is "guardrails" or "steel barriers" and it's a pity RHW doesn't include them, though you can LE and add them yourself to lots (I'm doing it, currently xDD) Saludos! At least here in Chile 'contention barriers' aren't used in all the length of highways, but only in unlevelled parts, where cars could fall from the border of the way. The median barriers, though, are ubiquous, for reasonable saefty measures (and aren't completely safe, specially with heavy vehicles that had trespassed it several times) Hum... Here im also not sure if you have contentio barriers everywhere, but in regards to Highways, the only places where it doesnt have are like this (dunno why btw): https://www.google.com/maps/@41.3784669,-7.5208116,3a,75y,255.7h,73.22t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sATyJdLmZSodoOZNkHSEg0w!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 I think that in America, at least in some routes, they don't have either contention or median barriers

gviper: 0 phil: 1 Although i spent the day browsing trough the Ionica City Journal (probably Top3 CJ that i saw here), the beach does not make it: i think you have better works regarding that. It just is not as detailed as the rest of the pic... Phil's photo, i just dislike 3 things, but they are personal taste anyway and in my opinion fit well with the rest of the pic: the road, the hill and the trees. Two very nice photos, but as i've said, in my opinion Phil's more consistent
  24. Show us your Parks!

Hum i honestly can't recall where i ve had that rugby field. When i open SimCity again i will look into its name Thanks for the advice! The thing with grass is that it is very hard to plop, because it plops a very big area :S
