A WIP shot of the south Elmfield district. This area is almost finished and features the majestic Sir Robert and Lady Jefferson Gallery and Park as well as the Perseus National Tennis Centre, a world championship venue and national tennis training facility. First full update should be ready within the coming week or so. -

I've been working on a new district within Passau, it's known as Elmfield and it's name is derived from woodland that once spanned most of the area. The area is overwhelmingly residential but has a dense high-rise sector along the eastern edge of the district which forms part of the wider Caledon Quay business district, a former shipyard redeveloped in the 1980's and 90's. Caledon Quay is also home to the National Stadium of Perseus and the National Tennis Centre. The area also contains some light industrial and large scale retail as well as a large riverside park. Many thanks for all the likes and comments for the previous update! Final update from this city tile. This area is primarily residential with some light industrial. It's also home to the Illford Tram Depot which is of course thanks to the fantastic Gogar tram depot by @Simmer2 This area is immediately adjacent to the Royal Victoria Hospital site featured in a previous update. As mentioned before, this tile now has corruption so not all images are up to my standard and I would have changed some normally. I'd been meaning to showcase this area a long time ago but this game file has serious problems and errors so I've had to move on from it as any new saves result in corruption. I have been able to do a little work thanks to recent game stability and take some images but they are not up to my standard but I want to show them regardless as a lot of work went into this city tile. There will be two final updates from the West Illford area of Passau and this update will focus on the University of Passau's sports campus. The campus is a world-class centre encompassing a range of facilities such as a velodrome, aquatics centre, strength and conditioning suites, outdoor training pitches, gymnastics, acclimatisation chambers and research labs. Most facilities are also open to the public and are used by the Perseus Olympic and Paralympic Teams for training. 1. 2. 3. Tennis courts, 3G multi-purpose pitches and velodrome. 4. 5. 6. The final instalment of this tour around Passau Island. It's been a delight to showcase this project and one I didn't think I'd be able to thanks to errors and CTDs that plagued my gaming experience for over a year. A massive thanks to be very talented creators that made this modern development possible. Passau Island - An Introduction

Passau Island is the largest land reclamation project ever undertaken in Perseus and at 10km2 it's also one of the largest artificial islands in the world. The location was selected due to the shallow waters and presence of an existing sandbank atop bedrock and it's proximity to Passau and the existing business district of Caledon Quay. Construction started in 2004 and was financed by primarily by the Persusian Government and Perseus Sovereign Wealth Fund. Significant investment was also leveraged from the private sector and sale of development plots. Perseus is a seismically active region and this was factored into the design and construction of Passau Island. The existing sandbank was build up before being reinforced by means of densification, piling into the bedrock and the installation of innovative earthquake drains to combat liquefaction. The island also has a sophisticated surface drainage network to ensure surface water during wet weather is managed efficiently and effectively. Passau Island was officially dedicated on 16th August 2014 by His Imperial Highness Prince Julius where he presided over an official ground-breaking ceremony and the dedication of a cornerstone for the Imperator Tower which is the tallest building on Passau Island. Passau Island has also been designed with rising sea levels and an increasing number of tidal surges in mind. The entire island is ringed by a park which has been planted with trees and plants which can survive flooding events and contamination of the soil by sea water using an innovative freshwater flushing system to remove excess salt. The park also acts as sacrificial land in times of storm surge flooding and when combined with the barriers at full height affords protection of over 25 metres. The barriers operate in conjunction with a series of sea buoys and a ring of various hydrological sensors that tell the system when to raise and lower the barriers. The barriers can operate at various heights up to a current maximum of 10 meters. When they aren't in operation the barriers are hidden within the quay embankment and don't restrict access in any form. Passau Island is a landmark project delivering 25,000 new apartments with residential amenities, 50 million square feet of new office, retail and leisure space, landmark cultural attractions, new cruise terminal, marina facilities, expansion of Passau Metro and significant additional infrastructure investment. After a very very long period of inactivity I am pleased to say Perseus has returned! My inactivity has been primarily the result of chronic game instability and persistent save file corruptions which resulted in me losing interest and patience. I have over the past couple of weeks been able to play relatively well with the exception of one of my major city tiles which seems to corrupt once it reaches 12.5mb in size. Utterly frustrating as it's not complete but I'll just have to go in and plop small elements and take some snapshots so I can showcase what has been finished. Not ideal but I've just about come to terms with the realisation it's a lost cause. I've now thankfully been able to almost complete the Passau Island development which I'm very pleased with given how happy I am with most of it. Teaser pics below! The next couple of updates will focus on Passau Island, I just need to spend some more time on people MMPs and so on to give it some life!

Hello everyone, after I saw that it's possible to generate a region based on a hightmap I invested 1-2 hours in getting a real hightmap of my hometown Passau. The rivers are not very accurate but I like it the way it is and I thought some of you may like it aswell. This is my first region and I'm looking forward to your feedback. -

Hope to showcase some more over the coming weeks and months. But the below gives an idea of what I'm working on

Royal Victoria Hospital Passau

The Royal Victoria Hospital in Passau is located in the Illford district of the city and is close to the University of Passau’s first campus buildings. The history of the site dates back to 1801 and was originally home to the Fever Hospital and General Dispensary, the site was cleared in 1885 and a new general hospital constructed. It was afforded a Royal Charter in 1900 and was renamed the Royal Victoria Hospital in honour of the Monarch. The Victorian buildings were demolished in the late 1950’s after years of successive structural damage, the result of the seismic instability of Perseus. The site is restricted in scale due to the presence of a major motorway to the south and extensive residential, commercial and light industrial development to the north and east. The site has however expanded over the years and now comprises six buildings tasked with the provision of healthcare services. All sites and buildings are connected via an extensive service tunnel and lift network, staff have access to the tunnels and can use bicycles or electric carts to travel between buildings and to/from the car park. The tunnels and lifts are also utilised by a fleet of battery-powered AGV robots which act as porters for the transport of linen, waste and supplies. AGV’s are permanently designated to certain roles to prevent cross-contamination. The Royal Victoria is one of four major hospital sites within the Greater Passau Area and is the second largest. The site recently completed a 5-year phased upgrade of all buildings, infrastructure and facilities. Thanks to the recent investment the hospital is one of the most technologically sophisticated of its kind. Connectivity is important for modern medical facilities and the large multi-storey car park is linked to all hospital buildings via skywalks that incorporate moving walkways, the hospital is also located beside a GLR line and the Emergency Department building has access to the Passau Metro.
