I recently started zoning in my city and I'm only at 58k and it's not going so well. I've never seen so many riots in my life, I have huge, mostly empty schools and tons of dumb Sims, my mayor rating is red, and I'm constantly getting notifications about unhappy sims. I have TONS of parks, low pollution, low crime, short commutes, taxes at 0% and everything I usually have when I start seeing 'Mayor A Giant Governing Gifts' notifications. Another oddity is that my residential demand is off the charts. I had the radical ordinance mod installed briefly and I'm wondering if this maybe a lingering effect from that. Any help would be greatly appreciated

The graphs helped me figure it out, I had added water pumps around the same time I bulldozed the landmarks, so the timing of the drop in mayor rating corresponding to the increase in water capacity made it pretty easy. The strange part is all the graphs and data views look pretty good (except education dataview), the water pollution is a little more than I like it to be, but I have a fair amount of manufacturing. It has gotten a little better after I built a few landmarks and re-plopped some parks, at this point I can just ignore it because there isn't constant rioting, they were REALLY bad for a while. As much as I enjoyed see the sims running around flipping cars and burning things, I'm glad they have finally stopped (at least so far). Hopefully my rating will recover, but I don't really care as long as there's nothing on fire. Thanks for the help

I believe I have figured out the why.... I plopped most of the landmarks earlier in the game just to look at them and ended up bulldozing them. I put in a bunch of Great Pyramids to test and it fixed the mayor rating quickly (I didn't save). The question now is how long does this negative effect last? I really don't want to have to jam a bunch of landmarks into this city to counteract the negative effect of bulldozing landmarks.

Haljackey: Is it possible to have an avenue overpass like that over an RHW8S? I've been trying to get that to work on a sunken highway using the on slope overpass pieces, but there's always either a support in the way (if I do the overpass first) or one tile snaps to the highway below. Love your videos BTW EDIT: Just figured it out, not sure how I missed it while I was working on this for like 2 hours yesterday

I just finished my first interchange in what will be my first highway. It turned out ok, not exactly what I was going for. It's nothing fancy like the mind blowing stuff in this thread, but it works. Any advice for improvements is welcome, I need to make another 3 way interchange in this this city.

I've been trying out the RHW stuff ang on my first interchange and it seems I've done something wrong... Whenever I try to put RHW2 lanes under everything this is what I end up with. The picture is just for illustrative purposes, ideally I'd like for that ramp to pass under diagonally centered on the apex of the curve of the 2 ramps above it. I've never spent so much time on so few tiles, I'm really hoping this is a simple fix.

Looking for ideas/inspiration to build on some hilly terrain. I've always gravitated towards flatish regions and I'm finding it very difficult to layout my cities. Pics please!

Holy crap it worked! Thank you for your patience, I've been away for 10 years and I keep getting stuck on things that used to be a breeze. I try not flood the place with dumb questions that have been answered elsewhere, but time (and Origin) have made finding accurate, up to date information extremely difficult. Thanks again -Mark

I went back and looked at my posts from when I was having trouble installing NAM 39 and I am indeed using the "lite" version. I'll have to go through the full installation again and see if I can get it to work. Thanks -Mark Edit: Went through the install again with the full installer and I ran into the same thing I did last time, the 4GB patch just doesn't want to work for me. I run it and it says batch file successfully installed (or something to that effect), but it doesn't seem to work.

I'm trying to build my first RHW and I can't get any of the starter pieces to work. I've watched several videos trying to figure this out but to no avail. I've tried RHW6S and C and RHW8S and C using the RHW2 to connect pieces, but they wont connect to the starters no matter what I do. NWM roads and avenues work with no problems. Thanks in advance.

I'm seeing lots of very smooth looking roads on uneven terrain. One of my primary frustrations is with lumpy roads on areas that are relatively flat, it is particularly bad on the avenues to the point that every tie is angled opposing the angle of the neighboring tile (wishing I had a picture now). I've been zooming in and using 'soften' in God mode as I place my roads, but it is very tedious, is there a better way to do this?
