I present to you my first housing pack based on various old buildings throughout Santiago, Chile. These are all low-wealth, low density residential w2w houses. They grow on 1x1 and 1x2 lots. There are a total of 34 unique lots, as you can see in the pictures. If you like these houses, you may also like my other BATs that I'm currently working on. You can check them out here. If you have any questions, or comments, please let me know! Edit: I noticed I used an old picture for the primary screenshot. The textures on the last picture for the last set of houses are the final version, not the ones on the main picture. This is the only slight difference. Edit 2: ...I also noticed that I've uploaded this file to the wrong category. It should fall under "SimCity 4 Buildings (BATs)". -

Brief Introduction This pack contains mostly medium density w2w buildings based on RL buildings in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. These buildings look best in older downtown environments, just like the RL buildings. Basic Information - Lot sizes: 1x1, 1x2 (corner), 2x1 (corner) and 1x3 - Stages: 3 and 5 - Tileset: all Dependencies If you've downloaded my previous pack, then you should already have it: Notes I've included more versions for two buildings, namely "Viamonte" and "Realico" (see image above): - There is a R$$ version of "Viamonte" - There is a fire station version of "Realico" as well as a parking lot version, just like in RL. Don't want these extra versions? Simply delete unwanted folder. You can follow my work here. Enjoy!- 11 Comments

Brief Introduction This mini pack consists of medium wealth homes based on real life houses located in the traditional commune of Providencia in Santiago, Chile. These house were designed to fit in a W2W urban environment, just like in real life. Basic information - Lot sizes: 1x2 (corner), 1x1 (corner), 2x2 and 2x1. - Stages: 2, 3 and 4. - Tileset: all. Dependencies - Only one (which I'll stick to for future projects): Note I've included several versions for the corner house (last model in the pictures), so that you can choose which one to delete, if any. - R$$ Casa Julio Prado AMARILLO CALAMINA - Yellow version with tin roof. Like in real life. - R$$ Casa Julio Prado AMARILLO TEJAS - Yellow version with roof tiles. - R$$ Casa Julio Prado BLANCO CALAMINA - White version with tin roof. Like in real life. - R$$ Casa Julio Prado BLANCO TEJAS - White version with roof tiles. Furthermore, I've included R$$$ versions since in real life the house is located in the commune of Providencia, home to upper middle income and high income families. The meaning of the R$$$ versions is the same as above. If you feel like these houses don't look like R$$$ homes, then simply delete the "R$$$..." folders. I recommend you to abstain from deleting the "R$$..." folders since they contain the sc4model files. You can follow my work here. Enjoy!- 2 Comments

Brief Introduction This pack contains five models based on real life houses found throughout Santiago, Chile. I've included a variety of different architectural styles corresponding to different decades. Basic Information - Lot sizes: 1x1, 1x2, 2x2, 1x3. - Stages: 1, 2, 3 and 4. - Tileset: all - Standard Maxis Nightlights. Dependencies More than one dependency this time. Please note that you have to be registered in order to download the files at the LEX (I guess most of you already are). BSC MEGA Props CP Vol01 -- really popular, most of you should already have this. BSC MEGA Props CP Vol 02 -- again, quite popular. LBT Mega Prop Pack vol.01 -- same as the last two. Also, you should already have this if you've downloaded my previous files. Romualdillo Props VOL01 -- this should be the only dependency that you probably don't have yet. I also suggest checking out Romualdillo's incredibly detailed and superb spanish houses here. You can follow my work here. Enjoy!- 1 Comment

FINISHED PROJECTS R$ Pack Santiaguino 1 CS$ Pack Santiaguino 1 R$$ Mini Pack Santiaguino 1 CO$$ Pack Porteño 1 CS$$ Pack Limeño 1 WIP PROJECTS (Projects that I'm committed to finish) R$$ Pack Santiaguino 1 CS$ Mini Pack Limeño 1: Two models based on stores in Lima, Peru. I have very little experience with batting but I want to improve my batting skill and hopefully release some decent BATs in the near future. I cannot say right now how dedicated I'll be, but we shall see! I'm planning on modelling mostly low to medium density and low wealth buildings (C$ and R$) and possibly some medium wealth buildings later on. I'll try to model versatile buildings from major Latin American cities (but mostly from Lima and Santiago) so that they can fit in a 'general' or stereotypical latin american city. As you may know, many latin american cities share a lot of the same architecture but there are some differences nevertheless. I have two current projects for the moment: one 1x1 C$ W2W building and one 1x2 C$ W2W building. Both are based on real buildings located in Santiago, Chile (1x1 building and 1x2 building). The modelling is done(?) so now I have to apply the textures. I'm not aiming for exact replicas by the way. 1rst BAT: house and small restaurant 2nd BAT: Mini market/apartments, mini gas distribution center, apartments Now, I have some questions/doubts: 1 - I don't know how I should model or texture the restaurant so that it looks like the real one (link above) 2- I have no clue how the roofs should look like. Keep in mind that in many of these older Chilean buildings there is no AC system (in this case, since these buildings are in Santiago, they might have a gas heating system, but I'm not sure).

Pretty sure this looks better than "ok"... However, may I suggest darkening a bit the dome? I think it would look better.
-
@raynev1 Thank you! There are actually 7 buildings in that picture, so that would be the three buildings facing the street. Reference for the corner building, if you're interested

@matias93: Yep, and I can also imagine that the lack of good ventilation during the summer must be nightmarish if you don't have an AC unit...

@JP Schriefer: Thanks! They are all props. I want to do something similar to the LBT residential mega lots (my lots won't necessarily be as big though, haven't decided yet).

Some progress... I put all of the finished models together, so that you get an idea of how the final lots will look like. I still have to decide on the sizes of the lots and the number of occupants for each, but I'll do that once I'm done batting all of the buildings. I'd say I'm more than halfway through finishing with this project, so you'll see this pack on the STEX soon enough.

I'm starting another pack, going back to Buenos Aires: R$$ pack porteño 1. I'll be making small generic w2w residential buildings. So, absolutely no high rises for now. Reference This building is 8m in width. As mentioned a while ago, I'm making a bunch of them so that two of them fit on a 1xX lot. The second picture shows my building compared to one of LBT's buildings (left) and one of Wallibuk's buildings.

Ah, the lobby's floor/ceiling height sure is massive, for the real building. I guess for your model, I would maybe shrink it a bit, but it is up to you. PS: Such a shame that this hotel got burnt down...
-
It is truly beautiful! I think the floor/ceiling height might be a bit too large...are you using any real life building as reference for this model? It should be easier too judge if we have the reference.
-
Last house done: Reference Gotta work on the lots (make 1x1 and 1x3 lots) and this pack should be good to go. I will probably upload it tomorrow.

@matias93 Thanks! The Macul houses sit on a 2x2 lot, precisely due to the reason that you mentioned. Ah, so they were indeed backyard rooms, I wasn't sure what they were. I agree, the Cisterna house is borderline R$ so I'll probably omit those rooms and leave the lot as is, just so it "looks" or "feels" more like a R$$ house...the references are just references after all.

@matias93: Late reply, sorry. Thanks for the tip, but I managed to get the bases to work correctly. And yeah, fortunately for the house owners it doesn't rain that often here! *** Two more models. A semi w2w house and semi detached houses. Again, I used LBT props and Romualdillo's props (as well as regular Maxis ones). Will add the trees eventually Reference 1, Reference 2

House #2 done. Reference Three versions for the fences/walls: a) Jestarr's fences, b) Romualdillo's walls and LBT fences, c) Romualdillo's walls and fences. I myself prefer option c), what do you think? Yeah, yeah, the concrete bases need to be elevated even more, I know.

Yep, that random wall will go away now Thank you! The reason why I decided to go with the fence/hedge combination was precisely due to the lack of appropriate walls in the LBT mega pack, i.e., short, small walls as you've said. Either they are too thick, too thin, too tall or they just have another different style, unsuitable for this house. I went through all of my downloaded props to see if I have any suitable walls, but I couldn't find any. I'll have a look again. If I can't find any, I'll probably have to create my own. Also, I couldn't sink the props, but I'll check again. Yes, indeed, most users probably have the CP trees, that's why I had this idea. I will use them now. Thanks! Yeah I guess I'll use small trees or small decidious trees to be exact. I'll avoid using palm trees just to avoid restricting the flexibility of the lot, so that users not playing with a more temperate setting can still use this pack and not worry about a palm tree popping up and ruining the general look of their cities. While it might not be too popular to have palms in lots like the one I've made, they certainly grow adequately in Santiago (at least when it comes to climate). Regardless of this, I won't be including them anyways (see my point above). You're right, for lots like this one, fruit trees and bushes are the most common I think. I'll see which CP trees fit the role!

First little house of the pack, was really simple to make. I feel like this pack won't take too long to finish. Reference Quick edit: Forgot to mention that I'm thinking of using CP's wonderful trees instead of the standard maxis trees, so this pack would have an additional dependency pack. Now I ask you guys: would you prefer to have the back wall replaced by the same fence w/ hedge that are on the sides? Or leave it as is? As I'm sure you know by now, any comment/critique is always welcome. Note: don't worry, I'll add at least one tree in the final version. I just didn't add any in order to have a better view of the lot.
