Have fun cleaning those streets from horse poop I think I'll stick to my hovering cars, thank you Too bad there are no hovering cars in SimCity yet

@c4bl3fl4m3: Thanks for your feedback. The only tool I've been using since 2010 is the Lot Editor, which doesn't let you put better icons and organize the lots as you wish. I know what you need and I fully agree with you, the lack of proper icons and organization annoys me too a bit. I believe that iReader allows you to do these stuff, and since I have some projects at my head I'm going to try it hopefully soon. Right now I simply don't have enough time to learn it and make some practice with it, but I hope this will be changed soon

You can find it in this site. It's under the Public institutions (hospitals, fire departments, police, power generation, water supply) list and it's named Hiroshima Central Hospital (fictitious).

Plaza-Parks have been released
-
Want to fill some gaps with something simple and nice, but you can't decide between plazas or parks? Now you can have them both as plaza-parks. Plaza-parks is a collection of lots that allows you to build parks and fill gaps at any shape and design you wish. I had this idea when I was making my lots many years ago while I was playing with Maxis overlay textures, and finally is high time to put the idea into practice. The aim is to create a flexible set of pieces (something like puzzle pieces) in order to make bigger parks on any size and shape without the need of any dependency, allowing all kind of players to use them. In other words, only Maxis made props and textures so everybody can use them. If you don't like the trees, you can use a tree replacement mod or the Lot Editor to customize them by yourself. Right now there are 22 pieces but I'm making some extra more to fill some gaps I found while I was testing them. I divided the collection into 3 sets just for convenience. The first set includes the most simple pieces, the "base" if you prefer. The second set add some extra paths, reducing the number of the trees (especially the bigger ones) and giving you a more plaza feeling. The third set adds diagonal paths to use them as corners and for more artistic variations. Plenty of possibilities Plaza-parks can be used to close gaps, divide zones and surround buildings like museums and bus stops. But you can also build entire parks, with those pieces alone or by mixing them with extra parts like playgrounds and whatever you have in your plugins folder. Coming soon

[Solved] SC4 double click issue on Windows 10
Terring replied to Prophet42's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Yeah, I have this problem too. Windows 10 1809 (1909 can wait) with SC4 from GOG. Any way to fix it without messing with the MMPs themselves, like a patch for the game or something?- 13 Replies

There is a guy in DeviantArt named Jean-François Liesenborghs, who makes some really awesome futuristic urban landscapes. Here is some of his work:

Show us your Overview of your City/Town
Terring replied to 9gruntsand1hammer's topic in SC4 Showcase
Yet another one city-district. -
That's even more strange because it's the only hospital in this city.
-
First time I had a small overcrowd clinic. Second time I had a bigger hospital only 70% full. Now I have an even bigger one only 20%. And she still complains! Is this a bug?

Every Maxis-made infrastructure has its keyboard shortcut or hotkey and I use many of them, such as R for road and V for dezone. However I can't remember all of them so I have to either check the manual (yeap, I still have it) or just click the menus and scroll to whatever I want, wasting time. So here is an idea. How about a mod that shows the keyboard shortcuts at the menus as a quick reminder? Something like this: Is this possible?
-
I picked the C style and the answer was a simple but brilliant and very useful mod. Seeing the hotkeys on the menus filled me with joy. Thank you very much BTW, I found something funny in the query tool
-
Dude, that's great! You did an excellent job. As separator I highly recommend the hyphen sign because this is how the manual has the shortcuts, as CTRL-R instead of CTRL+R for example. I don't believe having the keys appearing when querying will be a big problem but you never know, so let it as it is for now. And yes, adding the word "key" will be a little helpful especially for the newer players. Thank you very much for your work and I can't wait to see it finished

CoriBoom Partial Mythbusting - Building Style Tilesets Not Locked Down in the EXE
Terring replied to CorinaMarie's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Extra tilesets? Now that's something with tons of potentials, such as geographical sets (North America, South America, Europe, Mediterranean, Africa, Middle East, Asia, Far East etc), chronological sets that allow us to see our cities evolve though time (Ancient Age, Medieval Age, Renaissance Age, Industrial Age, Atomic Age, Digital Age, Transhuman Age, Transcendent Age etc), fantasy and -punk sets (medieval fantasy, art noir, steampunk, cyberpunk, commiepunk, solarpunk etc), all in our disposal, allowing us to customize entire regions without the need of modification out plugins every single time. Hey, we can even recreate the tilesets of SimCity Societies and get epic combos, like using the Creative set to make Pinkie Pie's dream cities or mixing Authoritarian and Spiritual to get Warhammer 40000. And since we're there, let's bring all the buildings from SimCity 3000 and give them their one tileset, as well as from SimCity 2000 and SimCity 2013. Wanna play SimCity 3000? Just hit a button. Wanna build a European Solarpunk city? Hit a button. A mix of fantasy and modern? Hit a button. But I'm pretty sure that ramifications of this discovery will affect the architectural style of the city, but also the game mechanics and the way the cities will be growing. For instance, how about CAM? Does the CAM team knows about this discovery? Maybe the additional tilesets could enrich the this mod by some way. Either way... -
I remember I was building an industrial district in a city with heavy demand for industries. Initially I got some factories, but when I started buildings plazas I got even more factories. I guess that parks does bring industries close to them, especially the cleaner high-tech ones.

No jobs and abandonment due to commute time
