The Simtropolis Vending Machine - Inspired by The SC4D Vending Machine
aaaling posted a topic in Forum Games
This game is inspired by The SC4D Vending Machine, on SC4 Devotion. The rules and instructions are quoted below, courtesy of dragonshardz (slightly modified by me): All credit goes to dragonshardz of SC4D for popularizing this game! Thank you, dragonshardz! Yet, looking at the playlist, I only see one teaser numbered 4.

Is there supposed to me one more video in Ganaram Inukshuk's RHW video series? I looked at the playlist and teaser 3 is missing. Is anyone else aware of this? Also, I could not insert a link using the link button. When I clicked "insert into post", both fields were blanked for some reason. Does anyone else have this problem?

referendum (Final Declaration) Should avatars be round?
aaaling replied to Dirktator's topic in Simtropolis Related
I believe that it might be best to allow the user to choose whether their avatar is round or square. Would this be possible? I personally think either shape is good though. -
Wow, this goes to show that there were times in the past few years in which activity on ST was even lower than it is now.

Well, I am guessing that the pink is supposed to be an accent color. The intention is to contrast the blue/grey seen in most of this website. But orange might contrast blue better as blue and orange are complementary colors. EDIT: I don’t mind the pink, rather I am just saying that orange would contrast blue better than the pink that is used.

I would recommend the original SimGoober canals. Those are directly compatible with the Canal Addon Mod (CAN-AM) included as a plugin with the NAM. While the Callagrafx canals also work with CAN-AM, there aren’t any terminals compatible for those (as far as I know). Here is the link to a starter pack of terminals for SimGoober’s canals: https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2110

Another thing I noticed: is it just me, or did ST switch to Google's Roboto font? I like the Roboto font.

This new look looks flatter to me. Is it just me, or is flat design usage increasing?

The yellow crosswalks are found in the Crosswalks Pattern Mod by ebina. There is a zebra crossing set and a yellow crosswalk set. Link to files: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/nu6p0121f79rw/Outdated_or_Not_Shared

Of course. The installer is already done; it actually preceded the NAM installer, which is based on it. The thing is though, for some reason some of the props, like the DPMO bus stops, were excluded from the installer versions. Only the ZIP versions had those files. Would every single possible prop and model in RTMT be included in the RTMTv4 installer?

http://www.bripizza.net/sc4/1107overcrossroad/1107overcrossroad.html <snip> I like the crossroads! Does it also work for right hand drive? Seems like it's for left hand drive only. I’m pretty sure the paths will autoreverse for RHD. The reason for an LHD NAM is because the Rail based networks won’t autoreverse paths.

Well, for some reason, I couldn’t connect MIS to roundabouts until RHW 3.0.

FLEXTrans would sound nice, as for the RHW, that can reduce the amount of puzzle pieces. They can also make things more compact.

I’m actually using Windows Vista, with 4 GB of RAM.

So how big should those DATPacked files be? As big as they can, or several 100MB-or-less files?
-
Well, for some reason, after DATPacking more of my plugins, the game still takes a long time to load, although it shortened slightly. Also, the SFBT Rail Catenaries props disappeared after DATPacking that with other plugins. The lots are still there, but the catenary props aren’t.
-
So, essentially we should DATpack everything except the NAM? How big should the DATpacked files be? Bigger 400MB files, or smaller 100MB files?

I like those Ontario style textures!

[RRT Team] Road Re-Texture Team - initiative and project plans (looking for participants)
aaaling replied to MandelSoft's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
Well, for me, I just put mods that need to be loaded after "z___NAM" right in the "z___NAM" folder. Works just fine. -

Those stop lines look nice! Although, it would be nice to have some crosswalks instead. Just saying. -
Does that mean it could be a Christmas present?

Try putting the mod right into the "z___NAM" folder. That usually works for me.
