12 pointsNext model that I`m working on. I haven`t finished the model, it`s still pending the final detailing, but I already started testing the polycarbonate material that I plan to use on the brisè (sort of), kind of liked the result. The previous project, the duplex house, its already finished. I`m too lazy to finish the final steps of the lot editing, but I plan to post it on this weekend maybe.

Only one person can clean up Clacton, and it's Count Binface from planet Sigma IX. He needs your help and this billboard will spread the word. The billboard is just a prop with a working nightlight I replaced into a standard 1x1 park lot, ploppable anywhere with standard park effects, formatted from an existing image of a Binface ad into a wider resolution. I'll be releasing a set of billboards similar to this one featuring various pop culture ads soon enough. -

I'm going to improve the color ---------------------- I will probably release the buildings I have shown sometime between today and tomorrow.

13 years ago, I uploaded Generic Office Pack #1, which was initially supposed to contain five buildings. I only wound up including two of them, although @gutterclub did kindly finish off a third recently. I never really expected there to be a part two, but here we are. This pack contains 15 models; an orthogonal, diagonal, and FAR version of 5 different buildings. All versions have different IIDs, so they can be used at the same time. The orthogonal versions are available in both growable and ploppable varieties, all sit on either 5x6 or 6x6 lots, and provide between 174 and 466 CO$$ jobs. The diagonal and FAR versions are available in overhanging ploppable 1x1 lots, which provide the same number of jobs. I have also included prop exemplars for all models for your convenience. Both Darknite and Maxisnite versions are provided for all models. Only one may be used at a time. The Darknite version requires SimFox's Day and Nite Modd. Dependencies (for the orthogonal lots only): SuperSHK MEGA Parking Textures SHK Parking Pack BSC Common Dependencies Pack (specifically CP Vol01 and CP Vol02) The diagonal and FAR versions have no dependencies. I initially learned how to BAT so I could make generic buildings like this. I like this particular group because they all fall just short of being boring. Enjoy! -
3 pointsChelonia: Jamestowne, A Modern Capital On the northern shore of Lake George, the first of the rebuilt cities grew. Prince Lincoln, an “ample” Ginger cat with the vision and determination the rebuilding needs, assumed leadership of the principality and established the new capital city of Jamestowne. In a break from tradition, he has chosen to live in a country estate outside of the capital. The other viceroy-level leaders all have in-town palaces. The biggest surprise is his decision regarding the thousands of motor vehicles left behind after Queensferry’s occupation force was driven out. Most of the country has banned them from general use due to the feline aversion to cars. Lincoln got the Supreme Wirdle’s blessing to try an experiment – allowing the vehicles to stay in Chelonia, with certain restrictions. He proposed to create a special division of the National Transit Office to supervise the vehicles’ introduction. The MTO, Motor Transport Office, has authorized limited use of cars in the streets of Chelonia subject to the following restrictions: the speed may not exceed 5 MPH, they may only be used in daytime hours, and all drivers must pass a competency test. Any rules violations will result in a minimum fine of being sprayed with water and chased. Repeat offenders will be banned from driving and chased up a tree. Prince Lincoln, shown above, got the first driver’s license. Jamestowne, viewed from the south, sits on the northern shore of Lake George. At the center is the government complex. Just north of Government House is War Memorial Plaza. A trail leads from the north side of the plaza up the ridge to the ruins of the region’s castle. Government House is a three-building complex to house the principality’s government as well as the Council of Lake George, regional Bureau of Feline Affairs office, and the city’s offices. It was rebuilt from the previous administrative complex and also comes with a nifty plaza with statues. Heroes’ Square, as the plaza is officially named, features statues of the two leaders of the liberation – Generals Tippi and Cecil. True heroes on the half shell! The busy port is the busiest on Lake George. Passengers and freight go back and forth between Jamestowne and St. George, Baconsborough, and Turtle Pond daily. The fishing fleet is based here, providing tasty salmon, tuna, and other stinky fish for discriminating feline palates. Fish and many other fine products are sold at Trotro Market, the largest commercial emporium on the lake. A trendy new restaurant is inside as well. There, you can pounce on your own prey and have it served fresh on a bed of catnip. Mmmmm, tasty! The Cathedral of St. James is on the waterfront, on the intersection of Main Street and West Street. Across West Street is the Hive Performing Arts Center (HPAC). HPAC hosts theatre productions, concerts, and currently features dancing honeybees. These are some of the stately homes on Cathead Terrace The residents on Edgehill Lane overlook, but do not look down upon, those living on Cathead Terrace. At the north end of town is War Memorial Plaza. It is the largest war memorial in the Lake George area. This area was the center of Queensferry’s scorched-earth withdrawal from the theater of operations. On the ridge just north of town, remnants of the council’s protective castle remains, preserved as a national historic park. It is accessed by a gravel path which begins by Memorial Church. War Memorial Plaza is the largest of its kind in Chelonia. The plaza features flags, memorials, and a central hall. On the northern side is Memorial Church and the path to the castle on the hill. All of these comprise Lake George National Historic Park. Some of the fallen are buried at Memorial Church as well. Many others are at National Cemetery, which is built on the largest peak in the region. The path to the castle starts here. The path is quite steep. But the views from the top are worth it! Here we are at the Castle on the Hill. I made some changes to the FSH files for 2 of the WMP ferry terminal models being used in the lot. 2. Also made some changes to the barrier position inside the "Nams PROP Pack Vol 2.dat". So, if you have any plugins that use those specific props (I haven't found any yet), you might see some minor issues. Enjoy, and here's the gameplay if you want to see it being used in my city.

2 pointsGot it! I did not know about the 4GB patch being separate from the Plugins folder - thanks for providing the link!! And you said that both SC4CPUOptions and SC4GraphicsOptions are available on sc4pac - thanks for that, what other downloads are on sc4pac? I will keep working on this, and when you have the time, I will review the next few download tabs in the Ultimate Guide!

2 pointsHIi @simmering No, this isn't a 'bug'... It's more or less a decision resulting from the way the 'Features' function and is something that has popped up over the years since the 'Features' feature became available. The site's 'Feature' feature is not automated but a limited, manual function where someone monitors the process and takes the necessary steps and checks to get things displayed. Historically, this 'someone' has been a staff volunteer. Currently, it has been my turn 'in the barrel, so to speak. Also historically. there has been a differentiation between what might be termed 'Team' Features and 'individual' ones. As mentioned, it's rare for the two to cross, but as in this case, it has happened. Unless a 'Team' has a seperate account, there can be and will be only one person on the Team who creates the Feature for such items. In this case, the "CAM' and "SC4 PIM-X' items have been developed by different teams, but coincidentally, the Feature was created by the same person who happens to be on both teams. Therefore, the same 'person' representing two different 'teams' will appear twice. Hope that's helpful. Thanks for checking on it... .

2 pointsThe 4GB patch an exception - it does not go into plugins at all. Follow step #6 from here: https://www.sc4nam.com/docs/getting-started/installation/. SC4CPUOptions and SC4GraphicsOptions are both available in sc4pac. You're using sc4pac right? So use that to install them. It will prompt you with an instruction for exactly what you need to do.

SC4PIM-X 2026 is a community-preserved and substantially expanded edition of @wouanagaine’s classic “better Maxis PIM and Lot Editor” for SimCity 4, originally released in 2009, also known as PIM-X or X-Tool. It can create building, prop, flora and foundation exemplars from SC4 models; create and edit growable or ploppable lots; manage building and prop families; inspect dependencies; and edit lots in an integrated 2D/3D workspace. The project began by recovering the original application from its compiled Python 2.4 bytecode. It has since grown far beyond a Python and OpenGL compatibility update. The familiar SC4PIM-X workflow remains, but its editing tools, rendering, performance and support for modern SC4 modding practices have been extensively expanded. Big changes Completely redesigned Lot Editor: The asset browser now supports searching, sorting, favorites, adjustable thumbnails and detailed hover information. Assets (props, flora, families, effects, textures, ...) can be searched by name, family member or source filename. The renewed editor also adds: Editable object position and rotation Alignment, centering, rotation and mirroring tools Configurable grid snapping Fit-to-lot and additional close-up zoom levels Layer visibility controls (i.e. temporarily turn on/off certain asset types to focus on others) Separate land and water placement constraints Better keyboard shortcuts and toolbar controls Persistent window layouts and column sizes Undo and redo in the Lot Editor: Lot editing is no longer a one-way process. Object placement, movement and other edits can be undone and redone, making complex lot work much safer and less frustrating. Timed, seasonal and animated prop previews: The Lot Editor preview system now understands more of what actually happens in-game. Date and time controls can be used to inspect timed and seasonal props, including playback and looping. Animated S3D and ATC models can be previewed and represented by animated thumbnails, while family variations can be inspected and selected directly. Day and night rendering in the Lot Editor (both Maxis night and SimFox DarkNite) Transit-enabled lot editing: The original release offered very limited support for transit-enabled lots. This edition adds a dedicated transit workflow with: Transit-object placement and inspection Edge-direction and edge-byte editing SC4Path discovery, parsing, previews and selection (i.e. the ability to assign custom paths to a TE tile) A structured Transit Switch Points editor Data-driven presets for common stations and transport combinations (thanks to @Tyberius06 for his wealth of knowledge on this!) Automatic calculation of relevant transit properties, costs and capacities Safer property / Filling Degree recomputation: Recomputing exemplar properties now opens a comparison showing what will be added, changed or removed. Individual changes can be selected before they are applied, helping preserve intentional manual overrides (i.e. OGs, etc.) and preventing unexpected bulk edits. Dedicated property editors: Several complex properties no longer have to be edited as opaque lists of numbers. Purpose-built editors are provided for areas such as: Occupant Groups and Occupant Type Transit Switch Points Building submenus Response curves Prop timing A new dependency report: The dependency dialog has been redesigned to find and clearly display all missing resources rather than stopping at an incomplete result. It understands additional resource types, and can use the SC4 Prop & Texture Catalog (thanks @nos.17 for providing this!) to provide more useful information about missing props and textures. Major loading and browsing improvements Additional improvements: Configurable SimCity 4 Plugins location High-DPI display support for crisper text and graphics for people with Retina or 4k monitors MacOS compatibility (experimental!) Numerous fixes for lot creation, exemplar values, models, textures, animations, ... Installation Extract the complete archive to a folder of your choice and run SC4PIM-X from there. On Windows, keep SC4PIMX.exe together with its accompanying _internal folder. The executable will not work correctly if it is copied out by itself. The packaged release is self-contained; users do not need to install Python separately. Settings, logs and generated caches are stored in: %APPDATA%\sc4pimx\ As with any modding utility, keep backups of files you intend to edit. This is a major reconstruction and expansion of an old application, so reproducible bug reports are welcome. Including the generated log will make problems much easier to investigate. Credits and provenance The original SC4PIM-X was created by wouanagaine in 2009. Its source was never published and was later lost. This edition was reconstructed from the surviving Python 2.4 bytecode and then modernized and expanded. The decompilation and modernization were carried out primarily using GitHub Copilot and Claude Code under human supervision and verification. Additional catalog entries and transit presets include community contributions by @Tyberius06. Thanks also go out to @Ulisse Wolf for maintaining and expanding the new_properties.xml file that SC4PIM-X relies on for accurate caclulation of property values for all kinds of buildings. This is an unofficial community preservation and continuation project. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Electronic Arts, Maxis or the original author. Rights to the original work remain with their respective owner. -

1 pointThis topic is for file authors who are updating their STEX file entries by fixing missing files and/or missing file images. There is a separate step needed to restore the Download Button. The file message banner CB added needs to be deleted and that is a staff only option. (Once it's gone, the button will magically reappear.) For now, you can simply post a linky to one or more STEX entries where you've fixed them and I (or other staff) will go delete the banner. I'm thinking we'll also then delete your post in this thread so that way we don't get confuzzled about which ones need our attention. As such, don't start any convo or ask any questions here.

1 pointHello! It is certainly possible, though it is complicated a bit with the fact that compatibility for the SafeDisc DRM that was used on the disks has been removed from Windows 10+. If you wish to keep using your disc copies, there are certainly ways around it like this article from Tom's Hardware discusses. While you can still use a huge majority of the mods with this version of the game, DLL mods are notably incompatible with the disc versions. See: If you don't want to mess with that (or want to use DLL mods), the recommendation is to purchase a digital copy of the game from either GOG or Steam. It goes on sale very regularly, so pick it up then. It now costs as little as $/£/€ 4 on sale.

1 pointSince the shutdown, I've actually spent a large amount of time playing Tropico, but I've finally come around SimCity 4 again and I'm remodeling an old park: I might have to restart a number of poxed cities in my region, unfortunately. That has really brought me down, but at least there's a pleasantness in building these lovely curved entrances.

1 pointNewest Akihabara block in progress. This is the one out of the south end of the station. It has an arcade building for Bandai Namco which was recently built. I plan on doing a 2000s, 2010s and a 2020s version.

This is remastered version of my 1st BAT. At the time, I was very inexperienced at making BATs and had a lot of parts I didn't like, so I remastered them back to BAT4Blender. It's my own designed building inspired from old vintage Art-Deco buildings from America. The .zip file contains MN and DN folders, each of which contains Ploppable (Landmark, CO$$$) folders. (I only made a landmark version because I thought it would look weird if there were multiple identical buildings in the city.) Please select one of MN folder or DN folder and put it in Plugins folder. DN folder requires the Day and Nite Modd. No Dependencies - Landmark Lot (CO$$$) Lot size : 3x3 -

1 pointYes, I know! Your very right about that! But you also know that most of those LOT's your talking about, requires a lot of dependencies. As i said before, all the LOTs modified by me were made for those who don't use too much plugins and dependencies, and needs something simple classical and practical. I don't expect all of you to like it. I just want to share my LOTs with those of you who know to appreciate a classic, simple & practical Civic/Utility Business Deal MAXIS stile LOT!
