I was hoping there was a way to reduce the amount of modular "dirt" that appears when you zone or plop near a curve or diagonal.

You could try a little mod @Cyclone Boom and I have created as part of a different project to see if this is what you are referring to. It works along any rail, street, or road in which the icky Maxis brown dirt would otherwise show up when there is zoning adjacent. It does not work alongside puzzle pieces so all of your curves and FARRs and such have to be created from dragging patterns.

If this is the general concept you are seeking, then the actual texture used could be changed.

@Tyberius06 no, not between the tracks but along the sides. Like in the picture there, you can see the subtle green shade that runs beside the rail and almost matches whatever grass mod is being used. I was hoping there was a way to reduce the amount of modular "dirt" that appears when you zone or plop near a curve or diagonal.

@11241036 Thanks, I might end up having to resort to that.

Yepp, Sorry I missunderstood you. @rivit's RUM for RRW offers multiple options for that. I used a transparent method for most of the time, but if you are playing with agricultural stuffs or rural streets that would eliminate the dirt alongside the road/street too. So when I'm gonna play with rural areas, I'm gonna use the dirt option instead of the transparent or grass.

I remembered there is a water ferry terminal for rerouting ferry routes. It's on Simtropolis but I can't find it. Can you help me find the mod?

Thanks.

Ferries are considered automata, and as such is controlled by the traffic simulation.

If you use the NAM you should already have more or less optimal settings for their routes. Additionally there is also the TSC(Traffic Simulation Tool) that comes with NAM which lets you have even more controll.

Adding another mod that could potentially conflict with the NAM-controller is risky at best

Salut Friends,

i build my town SaMara. It is the capital town from my Country SaMara. The center is ok. For to build i Need the Paris-Set. because the Buildings look old and every City have houses blocks. And with the Paris-Set you can have this City look. But it is Paris. But I would prefer if I could block buildings in a Scandinavian town. Since I'm just a Scandinavian fan. I don't care if it's Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki or Copenhagen. The Airport from SaMara are Ready.

Hi @chfzdn, is this what you mean? Connecting two non-neighbouring cities with ferries?

I think I found the port that I was looking for earlier. It is the :

There are 40 independencies to download. Now the question is: Does anyone has one file of all these dependencies or do I freakin' have to download all of them one by one?

Thanks

Hi Fred!

I'm glad you find my lots.

It was a long time that I was dealing with my first ever upload. Short answere yes - better if you install all the dependencies. Some of them are really common (JES and T1 prop packs, SG etc...), some or not.
I would recommend you to use the LEX Dependency tracker, I uploaded this set onto the LEX too. Heretic SeaPort Project v1.5 and its expansion.
Ok, a few things what might be helpfull:
- which inland canal set you use: - SG, SG-CAL Remastered or PEG PPOND. Some of the lots related to one of these canals. In the Readme, and on the STEX page there are 5 categories. The first is the general (massive list), then it depends on which other set-up you use. For example if you don't use inland canals, then you don't really need the dependencies groupped under the Only for the SG-CAL canal related lots: and Only for the PEG-PPond Lock Transition lot:
- If I've not mistaken, the original upload contains lot versions with lots of tall industrial lighttowers. Originally I planned to release an update, which never happened. If you feel those lights are too much, there are two alternative version available on my googledrive Heretic SeaPort Project Expnsion Vol. 2.0 BETA with the following instruction:

Quote

The Heretic SeaPort Project Expnsion Vol. 2.0 BETA folder contains two other subfolders:

1. Heretic Projects: If you want to use the lots WITHOUT light cones (NLC - No Light Cones), copy this folder into your plugin folder. These files will NOT override the existing ones, so in the seaport menu you will have two copies from some lots, one with cones, one without. They have the same stats as the original ones.

2. Heretic SP-Dock - Yards, Transitions and Ports (Reduce Light Cones - Override): If you want to use the lots a reduced amount of light cones, this is your version. I don't want to update, the original uploads (again), so I made these files as an override. Into the main folder you will find the Heretic Projects folder, copy this folder into your pluging folder, and let your program to overwrite the existing ones.

You can use together these two versions (NLC and the Reduce Light Cones - Override), but they have the same stats.

- if you need further help with the dependencies, please feel free (highly recommended ;) ) to contact me via PM here on Simtropolis or SC4 Devotion!

- MOST IMPORTANT. Until I do not figure it out how to make my Seaport relots in general PEG MASTER SEAPORT controller free, you need to install the PEG MS Controller and you can NOT use the BSC Seaports...

I hope it helps!

- Tyberius

If you need any more help, PM me, please.

Hi everyone.  I'm just starting to get the hang of the real highway mod, and so far things are going reasonably well.  I was just wondering if there were any puzzle pieces regarding elevated rail systems bridging over top of RHW pieces.  i've searched through many of the menus and haven't seen much of anything.  any thoughts?

Assuming you mean elevated heavy rail (as in the standard rail system and not light rail or el-rail) - then YES, it should be in the rail menu... assuming you have it installed

Hello, I am looking for a good sea walls tutorial please.

There might be others too and I'm yet to master the art personally, but here's an article I remember seeing:

Creating Straight Edged Coastlines, Canals, and Ports

The hole digging and raising lots are included with the NAM nowadays.

Thanks Tyberius06, appreciated for the info. I have checked and I have most of it already without knowing it, but this happens when you have a 24 Gb Plugin's folder, everything becomes complicated. If I should need more additional help, I will take on your offer to PM you, thanks again.

Yea, I know where you can get them, "Mr. or Ms. Picture Circler". On the STEX or Google, where everybody else finds them. This is the 3rd time in the past few weeks, that you've sent folks on an Easter egg hunt for you, with nary a word of thanks. Do your own wet work, like most of us have had to do.

This thread has existed on ST since the game was released more or less. (I think this is the 2nd or 3rd version).
With 490 pages with 30 posts each in this version alone suggests that many of us has had to ask one time or another.

As many others he clicked the like button as a way of saying thanks, that has become somewhat of the norm after Facebook/Instagram/etc. introduced it.

I've been BAT hunting since early 2011, and I've seen a lot of people who don't even bother doing that for stuff that is a lot more obscure. Some people have even forgotten the request seconds after they made a post, and never returned to see the answer.

There is really no need to go and critisize like that unprovoked

I've been through the STEX completely(including maps), at least 3 or 4 times, before I ever joined, and a few times since. So I can say with confidence, that I know most of what's in it. The only times I've ever asked in this thread, was when what I was looking for was on Dev or the preview pic wouldn't turn up on Google Image search. New members should go through it at least once, to familiarize themselves with custom content. Asking about 1 or 2 things, is one thing, but dropping pictures of half a city and drawing circles around everything is another. Requesting identification of the same building twice, after they already got an answer...well, what would you call it?

New members come to this site and expect to find custom content for the game. The only thing we can for certain is that they know about this site - There is no point in assuming they know about SC4D/LEX or any of the obscure foreign sites. The search function on the  STEX is unfortunately "borked" at best - and that is even assuming you know what the building is called. There is nothing automatic about everyone knowing all the tricks used by an experienced player - neither in game, nor when it comes to BAT-hunting.

This is called learning!

Simply a little bit like I mentioned earlier. Sometimes people forget.  And of course as a newcomer most of us have downloaded way more than we actually used. Getting overwhelmed is an easy trap to fall into

Okay, let's start with a tricky one.

I've been having problems with various (related) brown boxes for months with this one. I'm pretty sure it's all the same dependency for all of them, but I could be wrong. (And before anyone asks, AFAIK, I checked for all the dependencies. My guess is there's a dependency not listed.)

5e9fb6da5f079_Screenshot2020-01-1311_56_53.png.1f554f641b7da3ee2208c7f51ea812fd.png

Also CSX Vineyard - Simonsberg (v1.0) has a few brown boxes

image.png.b015d234a6de917b376d42da165d9207.png

(And yes, I just checked literally all the dependencies listed at https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=240 )

I'm also having issues with my Salima de Coco not showing any of the cocoa trees. (And yes, I just checked, and I have all the dependencies listed on the SC4D LEX listing for it.) Same issue? Different issue? Probably a different one, as the brown boxes from the other ones usually show up in a place where a shed or a house or something is at.
