I saw that, but didn't want to say anything because it's so hard to see the detail of the map in the screenshot without downloading it.  Hopefully it works for you.  My only other thought was that maybe the guy created his own NYC map for that city journal.

I am kind of a newb/troll.  I've been playing simcity for a long time, just recently bought it again for like the 4th time in my life. I am big fan of all those who create the custom content and keep this game alive.  IMO, this is and until it is redesigned and re-released by maxis, will always be the best SC game ever created. 

 

I used to be more of a grid style player but am trying to make the transition into more realistic cities, and I have recently discovered "transit enabled" buildings.  I would like to know, has anyone gone through all of the original maxis lots and modified them to include parking and "transit enabled" all of them?  And if so, is there a place I can get them all in one download so I can just replace them all at once?

 

I can't seem to find the rural rail stuff I remember either, it seems all the web pages have been redesigned and their search functions don't seem to work well for me.

 

I know these all exist, but I am having trouble finding things I remember, I would also like to know where to find a good working puzzle piece systems (like the Sam) for fences and parking lots.

 

Don't know if this matters, but I use the Nam, Sam, Rtmt, Hsr, Rhm, and have installed the working landmarks mod.

 

Has anyone purchased the dvds this site offers?  Do you think it would be a good purchase for myself?

Not that i know of. Modified the lots maybe, but transit enabled to all of them, i don't think so. Some member created quite many relot out there in the STEX. But most of them not to the original maxis buildings. There is actually an Industrial Revolution mod made by T wrecks which change/modified the lots most of the original maxis industrial building. If you're interested it's not so hard to find (you probably knew this already).

 

As for the DVD, well, in my oppinion it's quite good. There are great stuff you won't find in the STEX within. But, this is only my own opinion, the rest is on you.

i'm looking for three things i once had but can't find anymore:

 

1 A tall glass bus station that fits a 2x1 lot and connects to an elevated road network.

2 A modern on-road tram station with a glass canopy.

3 An apple store, rather boxy one that fits a 2x2 lot.

 

tried to find it on the Stex but came back empty handed, so help is apreciated!

Many thanks! i probably overlooked the apple building... The tram station though is not the correct one, but thanks for pointing that one out!

 

Edit: just found out the station is in that pack! weird, i thought i once downloaded it individually, as i never had the other ones..

Thanks!  I did have many of the items in those links already.  Problem with those pics I think is that it's difficult to tell where one bat ends and another begins, what's just residential and which are actually temples, etc.  This link is the only one I can't figure out how to download though, since geocities no longer exists, and the redirect just takes me to infoseek's home page...

You opened a thread before, and some members have answered your questions. The omnibus is the right place to learn something like this. All you have to do is reading. Then after that you can open a BAT thread or something like that here.

It's all the stage 2 buildings that are big boxes. Already put the bldgprops in my plugins. Still no change.

 

The three stage 2 buildings Shorty Burger, Sobchak Lane and Luky's Hang Ten are located here in screwpile developments

I have recently discovered Transit enabled lots.  I love them so much that I want every lot that should have or does have a parking lot to be transit enabled.  I have so far unsuccessfully tinkered around with little success.  I understand the concepts, but the lack of documentation and one comprehensive tutorial has hampered my efforts thus far.  My intention is to edit every maxis lot and every lot I download to have at least the appearance of being transit enabled, where the pavement overlaps the road and looks real.  I don't know if transit enabling all the lots would screw the game up. 

 

Anyway, can someone please post step by step instructions on how to transit enable lots, or at least give them the appearance of being transit enabled.  I have the SC4Tool, and the LotEditor.  I use Nam, Sam, RHM, RTMTv3, I also have all the working landmarks dowloaded.  I do not use any type of plugin manager, and have no custom lots requiring depencies, therefore I have no props, or textures other than the maxis ones, or ones which were included with the above mods.

 

 

A few of the problems I have been running into are as follows:

 

When opening lots, textues, dats and so forth with the lot editor or the sc4 tool, I don't know what the names and descriptions are very cryptic, is there some sort of database which contains a better description so I know what files are what?

 

When attempting to extend a parking lot past over the edge of the road texture, giving it the appearance of being transit enabled, I don't know whether to use a texture or a prop for the overlay, and do I have to create or download this texture or prop, or is it something which should already be in my database?

 

I have read somewhere a mention that sc4 tool isn't made to work properly on windows 7, is there an update?  And while we're at it what are the latest versions of the programs I will need and please provide links to them.

 

Thank you very much for any help anyone is willing to offer.  I would love to convert all the maxis lots and make them available since it doesn't seem anyone has done so yet.  Or maybe they have, if so, where can I find them?

Yes, I think is what you're looking for. It increases the landfill's rate of decay

Yes, I think is what you're looking for. It increases the landfill's rate of decay

Anyone have a link to a mod or install from the Exchange that makes roads plopped blend smoothly with the terrain?

Example, i have a city thats got plenty hills, rolling mounds and some steep inclines. The streets currently looks sort of choppy or has sharp transitions from flat to uphill then back downhill. Ive tried one mod but instead of making the street "go with the flow" of the uphill incline, the mod cut thru the hill imto a flat road which isnt realistic when every road is flat.

Anything to make the road go with the flow of the ground underneath?

Never find any other from here, I suggest you to do searching for them around BSC, maybe there are few existed there.

Those canals are never uploaded to any site, Debussyman created it quite long time ago and lost the model before even uploading it. He said that he will recreate it one day and upload it, but no one really knows when will he make it again and upload it to the STEX.
